Chapter 348: Master Huo: Beg my sister, there might still be hope

Chapter 348: Chapter 348: Master Huo: Beg my sister, there might still be hope

Leslie was relentless: "Your people were here already, they just watched as my brother got hurt!"

Mr. Huo waved his index finger at her gently: "Leslie, it’s not fair to say that. The ones who stepped in were my third brother and his wife, you saw them from the deck outside."

Leslie retorted coldly: "So what? If my brother gets hurt, your Huo family is going to pay for it."

Huo Yirong stepped forward and walked towards Leslie: "Your Bolin family targeted my third brother first. He didn’t personally kill Nicholas, which shows he has a good temper. Ease off on your arrogance, this is not the US where your Bolin family can do as it pleases."

Huo Yirong stood in front of Leslie, looking worriedly at Nicholas, who was lying pale on the ground.

Leslie knew that it was indeed their fault for miscalculating this time and hence, angering the Huo Family. But she couldn’t just stand by and watch her brother being tortured by a demon.

She held on to Huo Yirong’s pants and pleaded: "You’re a friend to my brother. You can’t stand by and let him die."

Huo Yirong looked down at the hand that Leslie held onto his pants with a cold gaze.

The fresh red blood from her hand tainted his pants.

Disgust flashed in his eyes, and he took a little effort to shake off Leslie’s hand.

Huo Yirong’s tone was calm, his expression was teasing: "There is actually a way to save him, or you for that matter."

Leslie’s eyes lit up slightly: "What way?"

"Go beg my sister." Huo Yirong laughed slyly.

"That girl?"

Leslie knew who Huo Yirong was referring to as his sister.

She was the innocent, naive girl standing next to Mr. Huo.

How could a child help them? Leslie had the feeling that Huo Yirong was mocking her.

Huo Yirong squatted down, reaching out to touch Nicholas’s pulse.

The man was alive, but he seemed awfully weak.

Jumping around during the day, and now in this state at night, Mr. Huo couldn’t help but take note of the unpredictability of life.

The smile faded from Huo Yirong’s eyes, replaced with a hint of concern.

He asked Leslie, "Do you know you’re pregnant?"

Leslie widened her eyes and shouted, "What kind of sick joke is this? I can’t get pregnant!"

"..." A small twitch appeared at the corner of Huo Yirong’s mouth.

His gaze shifted downward, focusing on Leslie’s abdomen.

If Qin Ruan said Leslie was pregnant, then he had no reason to doubt it.

Huo Yirong tentatively suggested: "Do you want to get a doctor to confirm?"

Leslie also started to sense something was amiss and asked with a frown, "Why do you suspect that I’m pregnant?"

Mr. Huo glanced at the wizards around him, and leaned into Leslie’s ear to whisper with a teasing smile, "Because an expert told me that you’re nurturing a little vampire in your womb."

"That’s impossible!" Leslie protested emotionally, flushed with humiliation and anger.

If she was pregnant now, the father would only be the vampire from the Rasambo Family.

A smirk curved at the corner of Huo Yirong’s mouth: "True or false, we would know as soon as we get a doctor to confirm."

Leslie’s face darkened: "We were in such a rush when we left, we didn’t bring our family doctor."

"The Huo family brought theirs." Mr. Huo got up and ordered Huo Chuan, who was guarding the door, "Bring the doctor. He is to see Miss Leslie."

"No!" Leslie refused.

She handed her brother over to their family’s wizard, stood up, and said to Huo Yirong, "I’ll go with you to see the doctor."

"Fine by me." Huo Yirong turned to leave.

Leslie followed him. Her face was solemn, her eyes revealing disgust and worry.

The Huo Family’s private doctor, roused from deep sleep, personally confirmed Leslie’s diagnosis: she was indeed pregnant, and it was already three months in.

However, looking at Leslie’s stomach, she really didn’t look pregnant.

Her body was excellent, justifying Nicholas’s praises of her sexy voluptuous figure when he recommended her.

Her abdomen was flat, her body proportions perfect. She didn’t look like a woman who was three months pregnant at all.

Learning that she was pregnant, Leslie touched her belly in panic, muttering nonstop about how impossible it all was.

Lord Huo dismissed the family doctor with a wave of his hand; the doctor quickly packed his tools and left the room.

Huo Chuan, holding clean clothes in his hands, walked up to Huo Yirong and said, "My lord, your clothes are very dirty. You should change."

All of the Huo Family’s hidden guards knew of Yirong’s distaste for blood.

Failure to address blood-stains in a timely manner could provoke their young master’s bad temper.

Huo Yirong looked at the glaring blood stains on his pants, frowned, took the clothes and went to the bathroom.

When he came back out in clean clothes, Leslie was still disconcerted and sitting in the room.

Lord Huo glanced at the time, his voice slightly gravelly, "We’ll leave the ship after dawn. If you really want Nicholas to live, plead with my sister. Considering Nicholas’s years of friendship with me, this is the only advice I can give you and your brother."

"Are you sure she can solve our problem?" Leslie looked up dubiously.

She found it hard to believe that the young girl could really help solve their problem.

Lord Huo said: "You only have this one chance. How can you know unless you try?"

"Then I’ll go find her now!" Leslie stood up to leave.

"Wait!"

Huo Yirong massaged his forehead helplessly, "My sister is not well. It would be best if you didn’t bother her now."

Leslie turned back around, contorted with anger, "Time is of the essence!"

Wasn’t a life at stake of paramount importance?

Huo Yirong raised an eyebrow, "So you do understand the urgency of saving lives."

"Lord Huo!" Leslie was infuriated.

Lord Huo squinted his eyes playfully. "My third brother cherishes his wife very much. Annoying them now may be more trouble than it’s worth. You might even aggravate my third brother over it."

Suppressing her irritation, Leslie, with her charming face, asked, "When can I go find them?"

"Wait until we leave the ship at dawn. Then go apologize to my sister with Nicholas."

Leslie frowned, "Apologize?"

Lord Huo lazily said, "Your brother insulted my sister yesterday, accusing her of narrow-mindedness. Shouldn’t he apologize?"

A rush of anger surged from the depths of Leslie’s heart. Was her brother really required to apologize over such a trifle? It felt more like a threat.

Considering her brother’s safety, she gritted her teeth and said, "Fine!"

Having spoken, she turned on her heel and strode out of the room.

...

The next day at the dock:

Inside the second floor cabin of the noble ship.

Lord Huo crossed his arms and looked out through the transparent window at the members of the Bolin Family, lined up on the beach.

They had been holding this stance for over half an hour.

A trace of gloom appeared on the usually gentle face of Lord Huo, his icy eyes flickering with a cold light.

The Bolin Family had overstepped this time. They wanted to pull down the Huo Family and confront the Rasambo Family.

If both sides started a conflict, it would drag the Eastern and Western Superpower Worlds into a tug-of-war.
