Young Master Is Being Jealous Again!
Chapter 315: Qin Mei feels wronged: Big brother, you’re being too hypocritical

Chapter 315: Chapter 315: Qin Mei feels wronged: Big brother, you’re being too hypocritical

Yong En stood up, finished the last puff of his cigarette, and casually crushed the butt in the white sand of a trash can nearby.

"I really don’t know anymore. I’ve said all I have to say, and I didn’t kill anyone. Please give me back my phone. I need to contact my lawyer. I won’t say another word until then," he said seemingly composed now, his tone quite calm.

However, Qin Ruan noticed his hand on his side was balled into a tight fist, suggesting that he wasn’t as calm inside as he seemed on the surface.

The female officer standing next to Qin Ruan and Qin Jingcen asked them, "Do you two know this man?"

Qin Jingcen replied, "No."

Qin Ruan added, "Never met him."

Qin Mei, who had somehow appeared behind them, interjected, "If I’d seen him before, I would’ve beat him until he cried for his parents!"

He had heard everything Yong En had said.

That meant that this woman, Han Xian, had been unfaithful before her divorce was final and even kept other young lovers. The fact that she was now dead somehow felt like she got off easy.

The female officer’s expression became meaningful as she heard this. Han Xian had once been a woman of high society, quite well-to-do. She wouldn’t have guessed that Han Xian’s personal life was so messy.

Indeed, rich families were no strangers to scandal. They played a bold game.

Qin Ruan pushed her loose hair behind her ear, looked at the female officer, and asked gently, "May I ask, are you from the investigative bureau or the general bureau?"

"General bureau."

This case was out of the ordinary, and the location of the incident was also close to them. Naturally, it fell under the jurisdiction of the General Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

"Tell Lu Han, your bureau chief, that there’s more to this case than meets the eye. If he wants to solve it, he can contact me anytime. But there will be a fee," Qin Ruan said before turning to Qin Jingcen and Qin Mei, "Big brother, second brother, let’s go."

"Ok—"

With that, the eldest son of the Qin family held his sister’s hand and left, followed by a pale-faced Qin Mei.

He looked like a discarded little cabbage, pitifully alone.

The female officer watched the three siblings leave, her brow furrowed.

Lu Han, their bureau chief, was part of one of the four major families, the Lu Family. Even though the Qin Family were rich powerhouses in Capital City, they didn’t hold a candle to the Lu Family. One was blue-blooded, and the other was landowners. There was no comparison.

The way Qin Ruan directly addressed their bureau chief by name suggested it wasn’t merely an acquaintance.

The female officer pulled out her phone and contacted her direct supervisor for instructions.

...

As Qin Jingcen, Qin Ruan, and Qin Mei descended the stairs and stood at the hotel entrance, none of them took a step forward.

The eldest son of the Qin family, tilted his head and asked, "Ruanruan, you said there’s more to this case. What do you mean?"

With one hand in her pocket, Qin Ruan said coolly, "They weren’t killed by a person."

"Not killed by a person?"

"A spectral creature?"

Qin Ruan nodded at the two of them, "Within the strong smell of blood at the scene of the crime, there were faint hints of rot. A weak but sinister aura spread throughout the room. It couldn’t have been anything but a spectral creature."

The eldest son looked solemn, "Do you know what you’re saying?"

"I do." Qin Ruan looked innocent but a little lost.

Soon, she realized she hadn’t told her eldest brother or father about her ability to see spectral creatures.

She put together her words, "Big brother, my eyes can see things that normal people can’t. In that room, I also saw the spirits of Han Xian and Han Kexin. They’re really dead."

A confused Qin Mei asked, "Their bodies are right there in the room. If they’re not dead, are you suggesting they faked their deaths?"

Qin Ruan smiled faintly without offering further explanation.

The situation was complex. Cases of soul exchange, body swap, and playing dead were not unheard of.

She met her eldest brother Qin Jingcen’s bewildered and helpless gaze and continued, "Big brother, the spirits of Han Xian and Han Kexin are right behind us. Do you want to take a look?"

Resigned and slightly weary, Qin Jingcen held his forehead, "Ruanruan, stop kidding."

"Big brother, I’m not joking. Get in the car, and I’ll show you."

Qin Ruan pulled his hand and walked down the hotel steps towards the parking lot.

Qin Mei trotted to catch up with them. He wasn’t afraid of people but was afraid of spiritual creatures.

Hearing that the spirits of Han Xian and Han Kexin were just behind them, Qin Mei’s hair stood on end.

Qin Ruan pushed her eldest brother into her Maserati and turned on the dome light.

"Big brother, brace yourself. Opening the ’Heavenly Eye’ to see spiritual creatures is said to affect a person’s destiny. I won’t let you look for too long."

"You’re not messing with me?"

The eldest son, gripping Qin Ruan’s outstretched hand, asked.

Qin Ruan replied, "I’m not fooling you. Second brother, uncle, and even Lu Bureau from the General Bureau of Criminal Investigation know about it."

"So I’m the last to find out?"

The eldest son wasn’t happy now and quickly shifted the focus of the conversation.

With a sheepish smile, Qin Ruan explained, "I haven’t had a chance to tell you, right?"

Qin Jingcen looked up, ruffled her hair, with enough force to leave her hair tousled.

He feigned anger and said, "You’re not allowed to hide anything from me in the future."

Qin Ruan squinted her eyes, with a broad smile on her face, "So, big brother, does this mean you believe me?"

The eldest son didn’t respond, nor did he nod or shake his head.

But Qin Ruan understood. She laughed and said, "Big brother, let go of my hand."

Qin Jingcen released her hand, and immediately she pressed her index finger against his forehead, slowly moving it to his temple.

"Big brother, look behind you."

Without hesitation, the eldest son turned his head to look back.

What he saw stunned him to his core.

Sitting in the middle of the backseat was Qin Mei, with the ghosts of Han Xian and Han Kexin hovering on his left and right.

Han Xian’s corpse was severed at the waist, and she was still in the state she was in at the time of her death.

The break at the waist revealed a mess of intestines, fresh red blood, and a clean cut surface of the wound, which assaulted the sight of the eldest son of the Qin family.

Confronting Han Xian’s pair of gloomy eyes filled with cold blood, Qin Ruan clenched his teeth and slowly averted his gaze.

Han Kexin seemed to be alright, her face did not look like it had been flayed like a corpse, and her limbs were intact, with no overly horrifying scenes.

However, her eyes, filled with hatred and resentment, made Qin Ruan’s heart jump.

The direction Han Kexin was staring at was clearly Ruanruan, who was sitting next to him.

Qin Mei sat in the middle of the back seat, feeling a creepy sensation from the weird looks he received from his elder brother and younger sister.

Could it be that the ghosts of Han Xian and Han Kexin are right next to him?

The car was only so big, it seemed that aside from being next to him, there was nowhere else for them to be.

Qin Mei nervously stuttered, "E-eldest brother, what are you looking at?"

Qin Ruan cast him a sympathetic and pitiful glance, asking, "Do you feel a chill on your side?"

"Ahhhh!"

Qin Mei yelled out in alarm, lunging forward.

His movement was so swift that Qin Ruan’s hand that was resting on Qin Jingcen’s forehead was brushed away from the impact.

Qin Mei fell on them, wriggling like an eel, desperately trying to wriggle free.

"Qin Mei!"

Seeing that this kid was about to wriggle himself into his crotch area, Qin Ruan harshly hollered out.

"There’s a puppet, there’s a puppet, elder brother, hold me!"

"Get lost!"

Qin Ruan grasped the collar of his younger brother’s clothes and dragged him to the back.

Qin Mei tightly clung to his waist, forcefully trying to squeeze himself into the tiny space below.

Unable to tolerate his stupid little brother anymore, Qin Ruan opened the car door and climbed out.

Qin Mei immediately scrambled into the passenger seat, clutched the seatbelt desperately, and gave Qin Ruan a pitiful, tearful stare with his wide eyes.

"Ruanruan, I’m scared..."

Qin Ruan curved her lips into a smile, petting his head, "Be a good boy, second brother."

Qin Mei swiftly pulled her hand away, sternly correcting her, "You can’t pat a man’s head!"

At this moment, he’d conveniently forgotten his fear.

Qin Ruan chuckled, "What are you afraid of when I’m here?"

Qin Mei blinked, realization dawned on him, "Right, I almost forgot, you can capture puppets."

Thinking back on the commotion he’d just caused, he scratched his scalp, not daring to look back at his elder brother outside the car.

Qin Ruan circled the car and went to the driver’s seat, opening the car door.

"Ruanruan, come out, there’s something I need to speak to you about."

Qin Ruan responded in agreement and stepped out of the car.

Upon seeing this, Qin Mei, who was in the passenger seat, immediately got out of the car as well.

With two puppet monsters in the car, he wasn’t about to stay in there alone.

He bolted out of the car and jogged over to his elder brother and younger sister.

Qin Jingcen cast his heavy gaze on the car.

Although he could not see Han Xian and Han Kexin now, he had indeed witnessed the two spirits moments ago.

It was not some visual effects from movies, but what he saw with his own eyes.

He was still trembling with fear, anyone would be scared seeing two living people transformed into puppet monsters.

What puzzled him more than his fear was that his little sister could see those things.

Qin Jingcen frowned at Qin Ruan and asked, "Ruanruan, how can you see those things?"

Qin Ruan: "I can just see them, and they can’t hurt me, I can send them to the Netherworld."

Upon hearing this, Qin Ruan didn’t feel relieved at all, but his mood sank even further.

"Will they have any impact on you? You are carrying a child in your belly, are you sure nothing will go wrong?"

Qin Ruan spoke with a relaxed tone, not wanting him to worry too much, "It won’t, I have the ability to protect myself."

Qin Jingcen tightened his lips, his tone filled with loss, "Ruanruan, as your brother, I feel frustrated and guilty for not understanding you at all."

Qin Ruan has been back home for a year, and he didn’t know about any of this.

"Elder brother, don’t be like that." Qin Ruan grabbed his hand, unsure of how to console him.

Qin Ruan then asked, "Does Grandfather also know about this?"

Qin Ruan lowered her gaze, said softly, ""Yes. The serial murder case a while ago, it was me who was called in by the criminal investigation bureau, along with other mystic masters in Capital City, to resolve it."

"Other mystic masters?"

Qin Ruan had never been involved with this circle and had no clear knowledge about it.

Qin Ruan: "Yes, two Heavenly Masters from the Maoshan Sect and the Jade Star Sect."

"How did you meet these people?" Qin Ruan furrowed his brows.

He couldn’t help but criticize himself inwardly—for his little sister, he knew far too little.

"We are all in the same circle, naturally we would meet."

Qin Ruan didn’t want to explain too much about these matters.

She is a reincarnate, and if she delves too deep into some detailed matters, many suspicions about her will not be able to be explained clearly.

"Elder brother, be reassured, I am not in any danger. And no one would dare to provoke those in the profession of being a Heavenly Master lightly."

Qin Mei poked his head forward, whispered, "Little sister, you sound a lot like a swindler saying that."

"Shut up!" Qin Ruan glared at him.

Qin Mei pouted, "Again you are venting your anger at me, elder brother, now I see you clearly. Not only are you sister-obsessed, but you’re also double-standard."
