Huo Yunjiao was here to pick up Qin Ruan.

"I don’t want you to go."

"Second brother, it’s not like I won’t come back if I go to the Huo’s. You’re acting as if I’m not coming back, like I’m going there to be a servant."

Qin Ruan could not understand why Qin Mei seemed so anxious, as though she was off to suffer.

"When will you come back then?" Qin Mei asked, his lips pouting.

"I have classes tomorrow, so I’ll come back when I’m free."

"You must go?"

Qin Mei tugged at her arm, asking again.

"I promised, and promises ought to be kept."

Qin Ruan was still thinking about the tiredness in Huo Yunjiao, and was determined to help him unwind tonight, no matter what.

"How am I supposed to explain to dad and big brother?"

Qin Mei had sworn today that he would take care of her. Once Qin Ruan left, he would have to bear the blame from his father and elder brother.

"I’ll text them in a while." Seeing that Huo was coming closer, Qin Ruan hurriedly suggested, "It’s not safe recently, second brother, try not to go out at night."

With that, she headed towards Huo Yunjiao.

Holding her hand, he asked affectionately, "Have you eaten yet?"

Qin Ruan noticed his hesitation and suggested, "Dad and big brother will be home late tonight. It’s boring for you to stay home alone, why not come over?"
