Young Master Is Being Jealous Again!
Chapter 1214: The Huo Family’s Last Reunion Dinner

Chapter 1214: Chapter 1214: The Huo Family’s Last Reunion Dinner

Huo Chuan dragged the struggling nurse out of the room as quickly as possible, even as she sought help from the Huo Family’s servants with her eyes.

After he had taken the woman out, he nodded towards Huo Zhi, who was standing guard outside the door. With a tacit understanding, Huo Zhi carefully closed the door.

Qin Ruan turned a blind eye to everything that was happening.

Her gaze never left her exquisitely cute little daughter, her expression tender and eyes filled with compassion.

Huo Yunjiao placed Huo Yao and Huo Anqi on the ground and walked behind Qin Ruan, wrapping his arms around her waist.

He leaned in close to her ear and whispered with a deliberately lowered, gentle voice, "In the future, when you encounter such short-sighted people, you don’t have to put yourself through such grievances."

Qin Ruan turned back to him with a beaming smile, her fox-like eyes seemingly hooking someone in with a gentle blink, exuding an ultimate charm from her bones.

She turned around, her slender fingers grabbing the collar of Huo Yunjiao’s clothing, pulling it close to her face.

Her eyes, curved into a smile, tenderly watched the Third Master, her voice soft and sweet as orchids: "Why would I feel aggrieved? Only I can touch my man; others can only long for him from afar."

As soon as she finished speaking, a joyful chuckle sounded in her ear.

Huo Yunjiao could hardly contain his laughter, his chiseled jaw resting on Qin Ruan’s delicate shoulder.

He was handsome and reserved, and when he smiled, he looked very charming, his radiant peach blossom eyes sparkling with a unique brilliance that few could resist.

After he had his fill of laughter, Huo Yunjiao reached out to ruffle Qin Ruan’s hair, his expression earnest as he said: "Right, I belong to you."

The unpleasant interlude did not affect the warm interaction of the family of five.

Qin Ruan let go of the collar in her hand, turned around, and gently held her little daughter in her arms as she walked toward the bedroom.

That night, Anuan, along with Huo Yao and Huo Anqi, slept in the master bedroom.

That night, Qin Ruan woke up only twice to feed Anuan some formula, and it was the best sleep she had had in months.

The following day.

After handing their children over to the servants, Huo Yunjiao and Qin Ruan went together to visit Xia Yunchen in South City.

Compared to when Qin Ruan had come alone in the past, although Changyuan initially welcomed them warmly, his face soured considerably upon seeing Huo Yunjiao, his whole body radiating unwelcoming hostility.

However, he had his reservations and begrudgingly led the two of them upstairs to the master bedroom.

Xia Yunchen’s complexion didn’t appear to have changed much, looking as if he were asleep.

Changyuan stood by the bed, his red demonic eyes fixed heavily on the bed’s master, his presence enveloped with a heavy, low atmosphere.

Seeing Xia Yunchen on the bed, Huo Yunjiao stepped forward to take a closer look, a hint of surprise flashing in his deep eyes.

He raised his eyebrows, addressing Changyuan, who was looking at him warily beside him, in an offhand tone: "He’s not going to make it, prepare for his affairs sooner rather than later."

"Third Master!" Qin Ruan’s face changed slightly, and she promptly tried to interject.

But it was too late; Changyuan had heard everything, his angry and hateful red eyes narrowing fiercely as he glared at Huo Yunjiao.

Huo Yunjiao remained calm, his voice low and pleasant, as soothing and gentle as the evening wind: "He won’t wake up again, the person on the bed is but an empty shell now, it’s better to prepare soon."

The words that came from his mouth contrasted with his gentle voice, making Changyuan wish he could kill him then and there.

Yet despite his rage, he did not retort, which was strange.

Under Huo Yunjiao’s seemingly calm but actually oppressive gaze, Changyuan coldly replied: "No need for you to worry, after all, you won’t live much longer yourself!"

Hearing the dialogue between the two men, Qin Ruan frowned slightly, her heart sinking.

She glanced at Huo Yunjiao, whose lips harbored a faint smile, and then at Changyuan, whose fists were clenched, his veins standing out, and his presence chilling.

Thinking of something, Qin Ruan quickly looked down, her gaze fixed on the weakly breathing Xia Yunchen lying on the bed.

As she looked down, a flash of golden light appeared in the depths of her eyes.

She saw Xia Yunchen lying on the bed with his soul unstable, vaguely showing signs of leaving his body.

Once the soul departed, this body would also cease to breathe completely.

Looking at Xia Yunchen’s soul trying to break free from his flesh, Qin Ruan’s heart felt like it had been pierced by a thorn, causing a slight yet heartrending pain, and her breathing became more hurried.

She abruptly lifted her head, staring at Changyuan and asked, "What’s going on?"

Changyuan suppressed the anger within him, his demeanor quite a bit gentler, "Master’s time in the Human Realm has reached its limit, and by the end of this winter at the latest, he will leave."

Qin Ruan’s gaze flickered slightly and she pressed on, "What about you?"

Changyuan’s gaze settled on the person lying on the bed, "I will leave with Master."

Every word he uttered carried a resounding and steadfast resolve.

Grandpa was going to leave, leaving her to endure a century of solitary suffering in this world, and her brother who she had yet to recognize would also depart.

Qin Ruan felt a loneliness as if the whole world had abandoned her, her heart grew cold and pained to the point of numbness, even tasting the flavor of betrayal.

Why, just as she had recovered her memory and had no time to truly reunite with them, were they one by one leaving her?

Qin Ruan’s eyes reddened, her throat unable to voice the discomfort, it was too much to bear.

Huo Yunjiao lifted her chin up, wiping the tears at the corner of her eyes with the pad of his finger, "Ruanruan, life and death are predestined, don’t be too sad."

Qin Ruan threw herself into his embrace, sobbing, "It hurts so much!"

She was sad, yet she couldn’t utter the words to make them stay; she had no face to ask them to remain.

If it weren’t for her, everyone wouldn’t have gathered in the Human Realm.

Huo Yunjiao held Qin Ruan, consolingly coaxing her in a soft voice, "To be human is to experience both joys and sorrows, partings and reunions; it’s inevitable to feel sad and distressed, life’s journey is so long, you must always look forward and get used to experiencing these things."

Qin Ruan, already heartbroken, felt a deep chill at the bottom of her heart upon hearing these words.

She understood the underlying meaning of his words, that for the rest of her life, she would personally experience everyone leaving her.

And Grandpa and her brother, they were simply the first to leave her.

Qin Ruan’s eyes, filled with sorrow, shut tight, and the tears slid down her cheeks.

With a sob she could barely control, she affirmed resolutely with one word, "Okay—"

If this was what Grandpa wanted, she couldn’t refuse. It was the sin she had to atone for.

Changyuan’s eyes reflected a mournful gaze as he looked at his master lying on the bed.

If possible, he still hoped that his master would awaken, recognize the princess, and then leave the Human Realm.

Time passed slowly.

Before one knew it, the New Year had arrived.

This year, the Huo Family welcomed a new member, the arrival of Little Princess Anuan filled the Huo household with laughter and cheer.

Madam Long Wei, wife of Huo Junxin, was also pregnant, and if all went well, the Huo Family would welcome another new member next year.

On New Year’s Eve, good news arrived from their daughter overseas. After many years, Huo Yunyun was pregnant again.

One after another, the good news came, and the happiest was undoubtedly Old Master Huo.

The old man had a hearty appetite tonight, and ate an extra bowl of rice.

All sat together, chatting and laughing, and the warm atmosphere that filled the air was touchingly comforting.

This would be the Huo family’s last reunion dinner.
