Chapter 1106: Chapter 1106: Master Huo Makes His Move, Qin Ruan Gets Scheme Against Unwittingly
Qin Ruan sat on the edge of the bed, her cold, clear eyes fixed on the man standing before her, her expression seemingly calm with her red lips tightly pressed together.
Huo Yunjiao gently caressed her face, his voice soft, "Ruanruan, Josh can’t get into trouble, he’s the only son of my little aunt."
As he spoke, his other hand that was resting on Qin Ruan’s shoulder, with long and pale fingertips, pointed directly towards Josh.
Qin Ruan didn’t notice San Ye’s subtle movement as she spoke with conviction, "I won’t let anything happen to him."
She would never let an Underworld Envoy from the Netherworld hook away Josh’s soul.
Huo Yunjiao smiled, and a white light flashed from his fingertips, landing on the injured finger pad of Josh.
After doing all this, he withdrew his hand from Qin Ruan’s shoulder, and leaning over, he kissed her cheek, "I’ll go out now, waiting for your good news."
His words revealed his full trust in Qin Ruan.
Qin Ruan wasn’t distracted by the kiss, her hand placed on Huo Yunjiao’s lean waist, she pushed slightly with force beneath her palm, urging him with her lips, "Go quickly!"
The room was filled with a strong Blood Evil Mist. The longer he stayed, the more irreparable harm would come to his body.
"Alright, alright," Huo Yunjiao said indulgently, patting Qin Ruan’s shoulder and turning to leave with unruffled steps.
Qin Ruan watched his departing perfect and slender back, her red lips involuntarily pressing together lightly, her fingers resting on her knee also subconsciously curling up.
As San Ye’s figure vanished from sight, she turned to look at Josh lying beside her, her eyes firmly fixed on his left hand’s injured finger.
There was a cut on the index finger that had already healed, but for some unknown reason, it had split open again, and a thread of fresh red blood was oozing out.
Qin Ruan’s eyes darkened, her exquisite face turning solemn, her eyes pitch-black.
She witnessed with her own eyes the fresh red blood flowing from the wound, mingled with a faint Black Evil Energy.
The evil energy was thin, but clearly discernible.
Without time to think about how Josh’s wound had split open, Qin Ruan’s finger, surrounded by the faint golden glow of Nether Divine Power, quickly pointed at the wrist of the hand where Josh was injured.
"Ah, ah, ah!!!"
The agonizing scream erupted from the unconscious Josh’s mouth.
The sound was laden with pain, but his eyes remained tightly shut, showing no sign of waking consciousness.
Qin Ruan ignored the piercing scream beside her, her other hand pressed on Josh’s left shoulder, pinning half of his body down, the finger on his left wrist pressing deeper, intent on forcing the Evil Qi out of his body.
"Bang!"
Suddenly, a cloud of black mist burst out from Josh’s wound.
Qin Ruan quickly dodged the attack from the black mist.
The next second, a rapid flow of blood surged from Josh’s not-too-large wound.
Quick to react, Qin Ruan pressed her not-too-large palm firmly on the wound, using Nether Power to heal the torn injury.
Her palm and Josh’s wound were tightly joined, from their inseparable connection, a dazzling golden light burst forth.
As Qin Ruan unleashed the Nether Divine Power to extract the Evil Qi from Josh’s body, his body shuddered uncontrollably, and his pale and beautiful features twisted with pain.
Not only was he in pain, but Qin Ruan also felt the strain.
She gazed at the hand she firmly clasped with Josh, feeling the resistance of the Evil Qi within him against her own power.
Two opposing forces waged a tug-of-war; she had barely siphoned off some of the Evil Qi when the thick, dark, red-tinged Blood Evil started tearing through Josh’s body, fiercely resisting her power.
Qin Ruan slightly intensified her effort, causing Josh’s whole body to tremble uncontrollably, his already pale face turning as ghastly as paper.
However, this confirmed for her that the Yin Evil Qi within Josh had been infiltrated through a wound on the finger.
Once the Yin Evil had entered the body, it waged a relentless struggle with the host soul, neither resting until their demise.
Qin Ruan dared not act rashly anymore, slowly releasing Josh’s hand, and the opposing Evil Qi gradually relaxed its opposition.
Yet, in the very next moment, Qin Ruan’s fingertips, swirling with Nether Power, rapidly pressed onto the area above Josh’s left arm, halting the Evil Qi’s spread throughout his body.
The tug-of-war just now had caused all the Evil Qi inside Josh to gather in his left arm.
Qin Ruan was unable to force the fierce puppet entwined within Josh’s body out; managing to seal the other soul within his left arm was somewhat of an achievement.
At this moment, Josh’s left arm was engulfed in a thick black mist.
Qin Ruan stared intently at the black mist, seeing a vague outline of a puppet face with sunken eyes and a gaping, dark mouth opening and closing—sinister and terrifying—it seemed to be jeering triumphantly.
Qin Ruan’s eyes narrowed coldly, her gaze sharp, as she flicked Nether Power toward the ghastly puppet face.
Under the assault of the Nether Power, the twisted and ugly puppet face vanished without trace.
The entwined black mist scattered, still clinging to Josh’s left arm and continuously surging toward his shoulder in a bid for escape—but thwarted by the Nether Power, their efforts ended in failure after failure.
Qin Ruan examined Josh, then suddenly curled her lips in a chilly smirk.
She rose to her feet with composed grace, casually flicked her wrist, and behind her, the high-end sheer curtains rose without a breeze, the wall paintings swayed, the display cabinets with precious items trembled audibly, and the crystal chandeliers clashed together, tinkling soundly.
Huo Zhi, Chen Hengfen, and others waiting outside the door, hearing the commotion, peeked curiously into the room’s happenings.
Huo Yunjiao left the room without closing the door, allowing them to easily see inside.
They saw Qin Ruan standing beside the bed, her eyes like still waters, her facial expression icy, her aura detached surrounding her with a frosty air, her hair smooth like black silk fluttering in the sudden indoor wind.
She was enveloped in a golden glow, her demeanor overly indifferent, presenting an unapproachable cold aura, yet she also appeared fairy-like, as if amidst a floaty fairy air.
With everyone watching from outside the room, Qin Ruan’s hands swiftly formed seals, her fingers moved so fast they left only a dizzying afterimage.
As she manipulated her fingers rapidly, thousands of golden threads emanated from her fingertips, turning the room into a trap by netting it with Nether Power like golden threads controlling every space.
As the last rays of the setting sun threatened to fade, the Evil Qi and the fierce puppet within Josh had to be expelled before the Underworld Envoy from the Netherworld arrived to claim his soul, and Qin Ruan had to be thoroughly prepared.
With the barrier set up around the room, even if the Underworld Envoy arrived, they could not enter.
Qin Ruan parted her hands and without looking at Josh lying on the bed, she turned and strode briskly towards the door, urgency etched on her exquisite features.
She had neglected to cleanse the Blood Evil Energy Josh had come into contact with inside the room, and now that she remembered, anxiety burned within her.
The unsettled Qin Ruan did not notice as the Blood Evil Mist entangled with countless golden threads slowly seeped into her body.
The penetration was imperceptible and painless.
Seeing Qin Ruan emerge from the room, Huo Zhi, Chen Hengfen and the others promptly straightened up, feigning an air of not having peeped.
The moment Qin Ruan’s light steps took her out of the room, the Blood Mist that had clung to her decisively separated.
Her dark eyes met Huo Zhi’s, and with slightly parted red lips, she asked, "Where’s Third Master?"
