Chapter 1072: Chapter 1072: Ruanruan’s Accidental Killing, Formally Becoming Enemies with the Witch Clan

Downstairs.

Qin Ruan had returned once again. Cai Yongliang and his team had been waiting for quite some time.

She swept her gaze over everyone with a brooding and aggressive look, and said coldly, word by word, "Wenshi Mountain Peak has been occupied by Evil Puppets. I need everyone’s cooperation."

Cai Yongliang felt the murderous rage emanating from Qin Ruan and knew that Third Master Huo must be seriously injured upstairs.

He respectfully said, "It’s an honor for our Tianxing Team to assist Madam Huo."

Ordinary people couldn’t see the Underworld King and Chu Zifeng leading the Yin Soldiers, but he could bear witness to these two right-hand men of the Emperor of Fengdu.

Although he had never seen the true faces of these two great generals, he could tell from the way Qin Ruan interacted with them that her own status must also be far from ordinary.

Truly, it was an honor for all members of the Tianxing Team to cooperate with Qin Ruan.

If they could impress the gods and spirits of the Netherworld, it would be an even greater opportunity for them.

Qin Ruan hooked the corner of her lip, her excessively delicate brow and eye lifting slightly as if in disdain for everything in this world, "What I am going to do today is slay Puppets. All you need to do is ensure Third Master’s personal safety."

Cai Yongliang frowned and asked, "Don’t you need my martial help?"

Qin Ruan’s face darkened and her eyes showed a fierce light, "Your task is to protect Third Master!"

Only if the members of the Tianxing Team stayed here could she set off with peace of mind to find the Evil Puppet that injured Third Master.

The storm outside had ceased, and the moonlight that had been obscured by the clouds now fell on the summit of Wenshi Mountain Peak.

There was a problem with Wenshi Mountain Peak, a big problem that Qin Ruan had neglected due to her carelessness.

When she arrived, she hadn’t seen any Evil Puppets, but after the release of Taotie, figures of Puppets flickered all over the mountains.

Qin Ruan strode to the doorway where the Underworld King, Chu Zifeng, and Taotie had already disappeared. She retrieved her fallen Golden Whip from the ground through the air.

"Snap!"

She raised her hand and forcefully swung the Golden Whip.

The whip made contact with the air, producing a sharp, clear sound.

Qin Ruan’s eyes shone with intense golden light as she coolly glared at the Evil Puppets drifting in the distance on the mountaintop. She ordered the people behind her, "Fiercely guard this place, not allowing a single Puppet in!"

She was determined to single-mindedly slaughter all the Evil Puppets on Wenshi Mountain Peak, to leave none standing!

Cai Yongliang said in a deep voice to his subordinates, "Did you hear that? Move out now!"

"Roger!"

The members of the Tianxing Team dispersed, guarding every entrance and exit of Longjun Villa.

Ling Xiaoxuan, with the Energy Gun on her shoulder, looked worriedly at Qin Ruan, wanting to step forward and comfort her but not knowing how to begin.

Holding the Golden Whip, Qin Ruan stepped over the threshold of Longjun Villa and walked away with firm and fierce steps.

Where she passed, the Golden Whip danced through the air, and the cries of the Puppet Souls were unending.

They met their demise under Qin Ruan’s Golden Whip, their souls scatter to the wind as their Evil Qi was completely absorbed, a deserving end.

Yet Qin Ruan couldn’t find the Evil Puppet that had hurt Third Master.

The one that had injured Third Master would surely carry his unique aura, but not one of the Puppets she had slain bore the scent of Third Master.

As Qin Ruan moved further away, she ignored the kneeling Evil Puppets begging for mercy. She didn’t want to know why they were hovering around and only sought the Puppet that had injured Third Master.

She would burn it with Netherworld Fire, making it suffer endless pain before its soul dispersed.

Qin Ruan didn’t notice these Evil Puppets begging for mercy; even when they opened their mouths, they couldn’t utter a word.

She, engulfed in a black miasma of Evil Qi, slaughtered one Evil Puppet after another ruthlessly and without a hint of compassion.

Until Qin Ruan stood at the summit of Wenshi Mountain Peak and saw the blood-red prohibition characters engraved into the Stele. The murderous intent in her eyes became even more ferocious.

She raised her hand, the Golden Whip whirling in the void with unstoppable force, whipping harshly towards the Stele.

Crash!

The Stele shattered to pieces, breaking into rubble on the ground.

Qin Ruan could feel a faint trace of Third Master’s aura lingering around this Stele; she had found the source.

She was fixated only on finding the Evil Puppet that had hurt Third Master and did not see a figure in a black robe on a cliff across from her, watching her every move. The figure had been following her all along.

As the Stele cracked, a myriad of Puppet shadows wriggled out from underneath its foundation.

They stared malevolently at Qin Ruan, their soul forms swirling with black miasma of Evil Qi. The leading Evil Puppet’s dark gaze settled on the shadow on the opposite cliff.

Just as it was about to speak, the figure in black on the cliff flicked a wisp of black mist.

Before the Evil Puppet could utter a word, it was struck by this sudden attack and dissipated on the spot.

Qin Ruan finally realized there was a third presence.

Her eyes, inflamed with rage, followed the direction of the attack, only catching a fleeting afterimage vanishing into thin air.

The step Qin Ruan had just taken halted, as the other party had already left the area with such speed, leaving her no chance to pursue.

She trembled with fury, her palm gathering Nether Divine Power, and struck at the spot where the figure in black had just been.

"Boom!"

The cliff exploded into a vast hole, rocks tumbling down like thunder.

Looking around, the remaining Evil Puppets were now fleeing in all directions.

Qin Ruan raised the Golden Whip in her hand.

With each swing, several Evil Puppets fell under her whip.

With her Golden Whip, Qin Ruan bound one of the Evil Puppets and dragged it before her, demanding sharply, "Who was that person just now?"

"Mmmph..."

The Evil Puppet trembled with dread, opening its mouth to reveal a sinister black void.

It was a Tongueless Puppet; it simply couldn’t speak a word.

Qin Ruan released Nether Power from the tips of her fingers, like threads of gold, infusing it into the spirit of the Puppet Soul. The adversary’s soul scattered instantly.

She then tied up and dragged another Puppet close, pinching its jaw, the same as the last Puppet—it too was tongueless.

Qin Ruan refused to give in to superstition, and consecutively inspected five or six more Puppets.

She discovered they were all without tongues, as if someone had deliberately arranged for their placement here to prevent the leaking of any information.

These Puppets couldn’t speak. Qin Ruan couldn’t extract any useful information from them.

She was enveloped in a killing aura, feeling the irritation and anger of being played, whipping out with her Golden Whip to harvest the Puppets around her.

Her aggressive, merciless movements were, all the same, graceful and valiant.

Yet the towering rage swirling around Qin Ruan exuded a forbidding presence, making those who saw her hesitate to draw near.

The power erupting from her body no longer required her to physically intervene; the Puppets that drew near were instantly shattered at the soul level by its shockwaves.

Unfortunately, she was unaware of this, still slicing through all of the Puppets with her Golden Whip.

The existence of these Puppets made her ponder, and the cloaked figure who had vanished into thin air hinted at a conspiracy.

Having slaughtered all the Puppets, Qin Ruan, dragging her Golden Whip, stepped towards the shattered stele.

Below the stele was a black hole the size of a basketball.

Qin Ruan narrowed her reddened eyes, amassing a dark blue Netherworld Fire in her palm, and hurled it into the black hole.

With a boom, an explosion sounded!

The black hole was blasted open, the ground cracked, and the entire Wenshi Mountain Peak trembled.

Qin Ruan staggered for a moment but quickly steadied herself.

She looked coldly toward the blown-open black hole and saw a black-wrapped bundle ejected from within. Her Golden Whip lashed out, coiling around it and pulling it before her eyes.

Qin Ruan tore open the bundle, and the contents clattered to the ground.

It was a chilling mound of bones!

From the size, it was the skeleton of a child.

The skeletal remains were intact, with a small skull nestled among them.

Qin Ruan furrowed her brow and crouched down to examine it.

She noticed that each bone was enveloped in a sinister Evil Qi, even stronger than the Qi of the Puppets she had previously eradicated.

"Boom!"

Thunderous roars resonated in the sky.

The curved moon shone brightly high above, yet the sound of thunder rumbled ominously, as if in warning.

Qin Ruan looked up at the sky, her lips curling into a mocking smile.

She rose to her feet, stepping on the white bones beneath her.

"Boom Boom Boom!"

Again, the sound of thunder echoed.

Qin Ruan chuckled softly, her feet crushing the bones beneath.

Regardless of this thing’s origins in the Puppets’ lair, the thick Evil Qi wrapping around it was evidence enough of its malevolence.

As such, it had no right to exist.

Boom boom boom!

The sound of thunder was deafening, yet not a drop of rain fell.

Qin Ruan did not simply trample the bones; she even burned them to ashes using Hellfire, guided by her strong sixth sense.

Intuition told her keeping such a thing would be a curse.

Far in the south, within the Witch Clan.

Kneeling in the temple hall, a frail woman dressed in white trembled slightly.

She was covered head to toe, leaving only her disproportionately beautiful eyes visible.

From her figure and those beautiful eyes, one could tell she was a great beauty.

Suddenly, a cracking sound came from the sanctuary.

The woman looked over, her sorrow-filled beautiful eyes following the sound.

A small tablet split apart, tumbling down from the high platform.

"Ah ah ah!!!!"

With her red lips slightly parted, the woman let out a wretched howl.

The people outside, clad in gray or blue robes, and the black-robed figures who rushed in, all converged on the temple hall.

The woman lay on the ground, cradling the small tablet in her hands, her excessively beautiful eyes shedding bloody tears.

The man in the blue robe at the front, his tone respectful and voice quiet, inquired, "Saintess, what has happened?"

The woman pressed the tablet to her chest, lifting her head to look at the crowd that rushed in, her gaze locking onto the black-robed figures as she demanded loudly, "Who, who killed my son?!"

The black-robed figure bowed reverently, responding, "Saintess, it was the Madam newly married to the Third Master of the Huo Family in the Capital City."

"It was her!"

The blood tears in the Saintess’ eyes came to an abrupt halt.

She removed the white hat from her head, revealing her excessively beautiful face.

Despite being twisted and fierce, the features did not diminish her enchanting allure, a face full of seductive charm.
