Qin Ruan, still in West City, did not know that Third Master was hoping to have another daughter with her.

She was half-seated on the billiards table, with one foot on the floor, gesturing with the cue in her hands, listlessly playing pool.

Fleeting sounds of pain echoed by her ears from time to time, but she seemed not to hear them, bending down to aim at the white ball on the table.

Bang!

The white ball struck the number five orange ball, slowly dropping into the pocket.

Huo Zhi stood quietly by her side, watching.

In the disordered pool hall, only one Hidden Guard of hers remained; the rest of the Huo Family’s guards had been ordered to leave by Qin Ruan.

Qin Ruan was waiting for someone, waiting for people from the Yin Yang Sect to show up.

The Yin Yang Sect was a sect that mainly practiced Demonic Qi; most of its disciples were half-puppet, half-demonic beings.

They could no longer be called human.

The Yin Yang Sect harnessed benefits and harmed innocent people with Evil Techniques; they were utterly malevolent and had severely disrupted the order of the Human Realm.

In that case, she was determined to eradicate them.

Qin Ruan also wanted to see exactly what the Yin Yang Sect was capable of.

Su Wang looked coldly at Ayong, who showed no response on the ground, panting as he held his waist.

He caught his breath and slowly walked over to Qin Ruan, saying in a low voice, "Xiaowu, Master Jiang Six is here."

Qin Ruan jumped down from the billiards table, leaned forward on the edge of the table, and aimed at the number six green ball.

Her cue moved swiftly, striking crisply and once again knocking the ball into the pocket.

A satisfied smile appeared on her face, and she stood up straight, her eyes twinkling with mirth as she looked at Su Wang by her side, "How did you know Master Jiang Six had arrived?"

Su Wang raised his hand and pointed outside the glass window, at the young man in black crouched on the opposite wall.

Seeing Qin Ruan and Su Wang looking at him, the man vigorously waved his arms.

Su Wang said, "That’s one of Master Jiang Six’s men."

Qin Ruan lifted her chin toward Huo Zhi, "Go check what’s happening outside."

"Yes, Madam—"

Huo Zhi turned and left.

All the people on this street had been cleared out by the Huo Family’s Hidden Guards, and every entrance was guarded.

Anyone wishing to enter had to report in advance; however, if members of the Yin Yang Sect attempted a forceful entry, they could be let through.

This was an order previously given by Qin Ruan.

Even if Master Jiang Six arrived, he would still be stopped by the Huo Family’s Hidden Guards.

Qin Ruan thought about the opponent’s need to control everything and mused that someone must have seen her earlier and gone to report.

"Damn it! How dare you take advantage of me without inquiring about this place in West City? Just because you have some impressive skills, you think I can’t handle you? You have your backers, and I have mine!"

Li Zilan was still venting her anger at the almost-lifeless Ayong, cursing furiously.

Qin Ruan watched Ayong exhaling more than inhaling and narrowed her eyes, interjecting, "Zilan, that’s enough. It’s not worth dirtying your hands over him."

Li Zilan kicked towards Ayong’s bloody, mangled face, spat on him, and then obediently stopped.

She took a deep breath, tidied the messy dirt-streaked braid at the side of her head, and steadied her emotions with her hands on her hips.

Shen Ran stood on Ayong’s leg, staring at him with a sinister gaze, his face expressing a fierce desire to tear him to pieces.

Seeing his aggressive manner, as if he really might kill Ayong, Qin Ruan quickly stepped forward.

"Ranzi, he is still useful to me, that’s enough. It’s not worth tarnishing your reputation over him."

Shen Ran lifted his eyelids, revealing red-rimmed eyes, and gritted his teeth, "I just want to kill him!"

If in West City, Qin Ruan was a ruthless and venomous beauty, then Shen Ran was a madman who fought without care for his own life.

Over the years, Qin Ruan had come to understand him quite well.

If it hadn’t touched Shen Ran’s bottom line, he would never have lost his composure like this.

She studied him with probing eyes and asked, "Are you hiding something from me?"

Shen Ran turned his head awkwardly, his swollen side face clearly visible to Qin Ruan, including his tightly pressed, quivering lips.

Seeing him remain silent, Qin Ruan turned to look at Li Zilan and Su Wang.

Both of them swiftly averted their gazes, looking everywhere but directly at Qin Ruan.

Qin Ruan asked sharply, "What exactly happened?!"

Her tone mixed with a trace of anger.

Shen Ran said with a face full of shame and anger, "Xiaowu, stop asking!"

Su Wang and Li Zilan looked at him with complex expressions, their faces showing similar indignation.

Qin Ruan sighed softly, her tone softening slightly, "Even if you don’t tell me, I can find out myself. With so many corpses outside, I can simply summon one of those spirits to find out from them."

"Don’t!" Su Wang, also a man, hurriedly interjected upon hearing this.

Qin Ruan’s eyes, filled with suppressed anger, fixated on him, "Then tell me what happened to Ranzi!"

Seeing Shen Ran tense, Su Wang bit his lip, disregarding everything else, "Those people initially took a liking to Zilan, and Ranzi and I got into a fight with them."

He pointed at Ayong, who was lying motionless on the ground, "This bastard looked at Ranzi with the wrong eyes, and his words were filthy!"

As soon as Qin Ruan heard this, her pupils shifted slightly, and anger surged to her forehead.

"What else did he do?"

Her voice was eerily calm.

Since he was young, Shen Ran had always been graceful and handsome, and he still was. He hated it when people called him feminine or beautiful.

It goes without saying how furious he was when he was harassed.

Trying not to attract attention, Su Wang glanced at Shen Ran, who was looking away, and whispered, "That scumbag also made physical advances..."

Before he could finish, Qin Ruan swiftly grabbed a wooden chair beside her and smashed it onto Ayong, who was soaked in blood.

"Bang!"

The seemingly sturdy wooden chair lost a leg from her blow.

That wasn’t enough for Qin Ruan, whose pain turned into rage as she continued to smash.

Her expression was sinister and daunting, her delicate face twisting into a ferocious mask, reminiscent of her ruthless past in West City.

"Fuck his mother! How dare he bully my brother!"

Qin Ruan was truly enraged to the extreme, cursing as she continued to strike.

Dressed in a dark Tang suit, Mister Jiang of the Huo Family approached under Huo Zhi’s guidance. Before they had even entered the room, they heard Qin Ruan’s furious cursing.

Huo Zhi’s expression changed drastically at the words, and she dashed into the room.

Seeing Qin Ruan, oblivious to her status, wielding the now legless chair, launching a one-sided attack on the person on the ground, her face grim and terrifying, her body radiating an overpowering fury, nearly engulfing her.

Huo Zhi rushed forward, urgently saying, "Madam, please, cool down. Leave such matters to us; there’s no need for you to exert yourself like this."

She dared not physically intervene, so she stood to the side, trying to calm Qin Ruan, hoping she would listen.

Ayong’s body had shifted from its previously curled position to lying flat on the ground like a squashed mud puddle, emitting wisps of Dark Evil Energy.

Qin Ruan knew he was not dead, and also knew that he was not one to die easily.

She casually threw the blood-stained, legless wooden chair to the ground, her chest heaving rapidly.

Huo Zhi pulled out a clean handkerchief, stepping forward to wipe the sweat from her forehead, whispering reassuringly, "Anger harms the body, please take it easy. If this person really did something, leave it to us; we’ll make sure he suffers a fate worse than death."

Qin Ruan took the handkerchief from her hand and wiped her own sweat.

After calming down, she remained silent, her gaze fixated coldly on Ayong, a dark glint flashing in her eyes.

She would not let him get away easily.

Standing outside the door, Mister Jiang, seeing Qin Xiaowu take action after three years, eyes flashed with amazement.

She was still as fierce as ever, her actions radiating a terrifying charm.

After noticing that Qin Ruan had calmed down, Mister Jiang walked in, his demeanor composed, "Madam Huo, please take it easy. I’ve received news on my way here that those people from the South Ocean are already en route."

Qin Ruan turned, her gaze cool as she looked at him, her tone distant and polite, "Mister Jiang."

Hearing this title, Mister Jiang, his face well-maintained and gentle, couldn’t help but look baffled.

His eyes twinkling, he smiled and gently shook his head, "Please don’t; just call me Old Six."

With Qin Xiaowu’s present stature far different from the past, he certainly couldn’t bear such a formal address from her.

In front of the vast entity that was the Huo Family, he couldn’t even get through the main gate.

Qin Ruan, her eyes filled with a chilling intent, didn’t engage in circuitous talk with Mister Jiang, getting straight to the point, "Mister Jiang, you must have already found out the details about those people from the South Ocean, why not share?"

Mister Jiang nodded, "That’s exactly why I came."

Qin Ruan gave a look to Huo Zhi, who brought over a somewhat dirty chair and placed it behind Mister Jiang.

He, appearing somewhat apprehensive, said courteously, "No trouble, I can manage on my own."

Qin Ruan leaned against the edge of the billiard table behind her, arms crossed, lips slightly pursed, waiting for Mister Jiang to speak.

After sitting down, Mister Jiang didn’t beat around the bush and spilled everything he knew.

Just before the new year, a group of people from the South Ocean arrived in West City, numbering over thirty.

The most influential person among them, whom Mister Jiang had also met, was an old man with white hair, dressed in a blue Taoist robe, appearing like a hermit, with an aura of indifference.

The more one stared at his seemingly kind face, the more chilling it seemed, leaving an unsettling feeling.

The disciples who supported the old man all called him Master Cien.

With such a group arriving in West City, Mister Jiang, as the overlord of West City, naturally needed to investigate thoroughly.

Just last night, he received the results of his subordinates’ investigation.

These people were all from the Yin Yang Sect of the South Ocean. The man called Master Cien was the Sect Leader of the Yin Yang Sect.

The reputation of the Yin Yang Sect was not good; within domestic circles, they were known on the Evil Path — taking money for harmful deeds, committing all sorts of evil, using Evil Techniques to kill people, setting up formations for fights, and harming many innocents.

These people had traveled thousands of miles to Capital City around the new year, clearly with a purpose.

According to what Mister Jiang’s subordinates who shadowed them reported, Master Cien had instructed the Yin Yang Sect’s disciples to look for someone in West City to take revenge on somebody.

After hearing this, Qin Ruan almost connected the dots of the situation.

The visit of Master Cien, Sect Leader of the Yin Yang Sect, to Capital City was very likely for the deaths of Master Xu and Master Wu, and the person they were looking for was her.

All of a sudden, Qin Ruan’s eyebrows knitted tightly, her piercing eyes shooting towards the billiard hall’s doorway, her delicate face bearing a solemn expression.
