Chapter 965: Chapter 82: Powerful Lineup

However, the powerful air force of the Elves could only maintain constant vigilance and perform nominal escort duties; even if they encountered formidable magical beasts or sniping units dispatched by Divine Servants, it would barely come to them to launch an attack. That’s because this Skyboat was a gathering place for a significant portion of the high-end combat power on the Yarran Continent. Facing such a force, unless a Deity could break through the barrier set by the Creator Lord Yarra and descend upon the mortal world, no power would dare confront the might aboard this Skyboat.

Aboard the Skyboat, almost half of Pannis’s comrades from a century ago had gathered. Among the thirteen heroes who participated in the expedition to the Death World, Shaman Finchy had fallen in battle, Bearman Carl passed away early, Christo had died of illness a year ago, Philarx was missing and presumed dead, and Nellie had sacrificed herself. Excluding these five departed heroes, only Klarke, who was too old to travel great distances, and Mina, who was far away in the Dragon Mountain Range, were the two who couldn’t make it. The six remaining people and their magical beasts were all here—and there were even two additional figures, representing the Lizardman, Alcmene, and representing the Sea Race, Doris.

Beyond these eight individuals, several Demigods from the Neutral Land were also present. Kera returned to the Neutral Land with her deputy to complete deployment tasks, while two guild leaders of the Shadow Hand were assisting in the City of Innocence. The two Demigod pillars from the City of Knowledge, the Mage Guild’s Antuin and the Adventurer’s Guild’s Odin, were both aboard the Skyboat.

Though the Dwarf Klarke could not come, another one of his race’s Demigods, Conaida of the Mountain Dwarf Boulder Family, came specifically with Klarke’s apologies. At the age of four hundred and twenty years, Klarke was entering a period of decline and was likely to die within the next thirty to forty years, preventing him from participating in battle due to his diminished energy and physical capacity. Therefore, he could only ask his good friend to represent him in apologizing to the leader he most respected, Kyle. Conaida was about a hundred years younger than Klarke and had a decent relationship with Pannis and a close bond with Klarke. A century ago, Pannis managed to recruit Klarke to his team, who he had barely met, for the future of the Yarran World, all based on a letter. That letter was actually addressed directly to Conaida, who was then of Legendary Rank, and was subsequently passed on to Klarke. Thus, having Conaida assist in this mission on behalf of Klarke was precisely the most appropriate choice.

In the Mage Kingdom on the Butte Plateau, the Speaker Warrensen had originally intended to come in person, but due to the sudden disappearance of Master Fila and considerable unrest within the nation, seven or eight Mage lords and some high-ranking Mages from other lords’ domains vanished without a trace, without any warning or trackable clues, as if they had disappeared from this world just like Master Fila. The only certainty was that they seemed to have made arrangements for their departure well in advance before they willingly disappeared. Because of this, Warrensen had been extremely busy lately, with various matters piling up, wishing he could have forty-four hours in a day to manage. Even the previous conferences he had merely made a brief appearance to show the importance of the meetings, then left the rest to the Chief Executive, hastily returning to Butte. Under such circumstances, Warrensen obviously could not afford to assist personally and could only express his regrets to Pannis.

Indeed, the Beastman tribes hadn’t sent a single representative to assist. There were only two Beastman Demigods, one in the Hall of War God and the other in the Temple of Ancestors, and both had important tasks in the preparations for the upcoming war, making it impossible for them to leave their duties. Left with no other choice, the process to appoint an assisting representative was ultimately abandoned. Despite not sending a representative, the Beastmen had made arrangements throughout the journey. Along the flight path of the Skyboat, numerous Beastman troops were deployed and patrolled to prevent potential attacks on the Skyboat from the ground by artillery using combined crystal energy cannons. It could be said that, although the Beastmen didn’t directly send assistance, their contributions were no less significant than those races that had sent representatives.

As for the human nations, although they lacked a Demigod to assist in this expedition, each had sent its own representatives. From the Falar Empire, it was Nicholas who joined as the representative, and from the other nation, Neville, decision-makers were clearly aware of Catherine’s relationship with Marquis Philip, hence Philip joined as the plenipotentiary representative for the mission. Of course, to call these two individuals assistants would be less accurate than to say they were there to see the team off. After all, the expedition was composed solely of humans, and as representatives of the two exclusively human nations, it was only fitting for them to accompany the send-off. However, they were not expected to venture deep into the Lost Forest; they would depart from the main force after the Skyboat landed at the border between the Lost Forest and the plains and would return with the Skyboat.

Such a powerful collaborative team had never been seen before in the history of the Yarran World. With the cooperation of these formidable individuals, the journey of the girls deep into the Lost Forest to reach the Elven Royal Court became a very simple matter. Of course, even without their assistance, it wouldn’t have been difficult for the adventurer team to make their way to the Elven Royal Court, but the inclusion of the powerful made the task even easier.

So, as the Magic Array on the Skyboat slowly activated and set out towards the destination, the girls realized that this journey, fraught with danger and the ever-present threat of death in the Forest of Death, had become as comfortable and leisurely as a picnic at the outset. The Skyboat was originally designed as a luxury transportation for the wealthy, with expensive and comfortable facilities. The various life necessities and food prepared inside were of the highest quality in the Yarran World. Though it was now being used for an expedition, with the strong support of the Business Federation, all supplies were still prepared to the original high standards and offered for free to the passengers. Therefore, the girls were now able to wear leisure clothes worth two or three hundred gold coins and savor expensive drinks costing dozens or even hundreds of gold coins per glass while leisurely gazing at the verdant plains below the Skyboat from the rail.

"Would you like to join me for a drink?" A wine glass was extended to Catherine from behind, and with the glass passing by her cheek, the knightly girl could immediately tell that it contained Mackinway wine from the year 3578. Catherine took the glass, nodded with a slight smile, and said, "Thank you, Grandpa Snape."(To be continued.
