Chapter 920: Chapter 37 Out-of-Control Ava

"We only told you a story," Maya said with a serious expression, abandoning her playful demeanor, "Whether or not the story could truly be of help to you—we couldn’t be sure. But it seems like it did help, and you didn’t disappoint us; you successfully took that step."

"Even so, I still want to thank you," Lina insisted, "This gratitude has been in my heart, and today I finally have the chance to express it to you. It’s like I’ve taken a weight off my mind."

"All right, since you insist, we’ll accept your thanks," Tiya said, flapping her black wings, "I hope you can go even further. Among the generations of Demigods, none have been pure Holy Occupation. If you end up ascending to a Demigod, you must tell me, I’m very Curiosity about it."

"Of course, no problem," Lina replied with a smile, letting go of the matter of gratitude. She looked around and finally set her gaze on Pannis, saying, "Why do you look so terrible just after one night, like you were trampled twenty times by a hundred armored bulls? And where are the others? Where’s Ava, why don’t I see her?"

"Ava... haha," Pannis gave a bitter laugh, rubbing the bruise on his waist, and complained, "She’s a thousand times more terrible than an armored bull. The reason I’m in such a sorry state is because of her beating me—they almost killed me."

"What exactly happened?" Lina asked puzzledly, blinking in confusion, "Didn’t you go out to stroll around the streets last night? Why did Ava beat you up, and how did you come across them?"

"It’s quite a complex issue if we were to discuss it," Pannis explained succinctly what had happened the night before, including the sight of those decadent and wild people, until finally, frowning deeply, he said, "As for Ava’s situation, ouch, you should ask Vivian—it was all her doing that caused the trouble."

"Hehe," the Mage girl giggled foolishly, fidgeting with her Mage hat in an embarrassed manner, "Last night when everyone was sitting by the lake and chatting, Ava was drinking fruit juice with me, while the sisters were drinking wine. At one point, Ava quietly asked me, why do Sister and Pannis love to drink so much; is wine really that good? I couldn’t answer that, I hadn’t drunk much myself. After some discussion, we decided to call a waiter to bring a glass for her to taste it herself, to see if it’s truly delicious. At the time, Pannis was throwing stones at them, and Sister, together with Freya and Marquis Snape, was chatting and having a good time, nobody was paying attention to us, so I just summoned a waiter directly and asked him to fetch us a glass of beer. The waiter asked what kind of beer we wanted. I didn’t know anything about it, but Ava said that last time she was at the tavern with Pannis, he was drinking malt beer, so she told the waiter to bring us any kind of malt beer. Sure enough, the waiter brought a large cup. I thought since the cup was so big, it couldn’t be any strong liquor, so I didn’t pay much attention to it."

"Actually, malt beer is often strong liquor," Pannis said with a wry smile, "It packs a really strong punch."

"I didn’t know that at the time," Vivian replied with a bitter laugh, "After the malt beer arrived, she took a sip, and I asked her how it tasted. She didn’t speak, just nodded. You know her habits—she never shows any expression. So I couldn’t tell what she was feeling from her face. Thinking the beer was fine for her since she nodded, I stopped paying attention and started thinking about my own experiments. After a while, when I came to my senses, I found out she had drunk half the glass of malt beer and didn’t seem quite right; her face color was off. I immediately told the others, but before I could finish explaining, Ava started opening The Third Eye, randomly unleashing Light Techniques everywhere."

"Light Techniques?" Lina asked, puzzled, "What’s that? Is it Light-attribute magic?"

"Something like that," Vivian explained, "Pannis said it’s a unique racial skill of the Triclops, very formidable. And indeed, it turned out to be terrifying. Pannis brought everyone into his domain to avoid the first round of Light Techniques, then released us back, and took Ava into his domain alone. They were in there for a long time until Ava exhausted her powers and came out, but by that time Pannis was already in the sorry state you see now."

"You understand now," Pannis said with a pained expression, "I was completely an innocent victim this time. Who knew Ava would completely lose her senses after half a cup of alcohol. Luckily, before the second wave of her attack, I had already pulled her into my realm. She only destroyed half of a rockery on the Marquis’ estate. If she had even the slightest resistance in her heart, I wouldn’t have been able to pull her into the realm, then who knows how much of that courtyard would have been demolished. At that point, Catherine’s debt... heh heh."

"Don’t talk about such scary things," Catherine said to Pannis while shaking her fist at him, still scared, "I had already given up hope at the time. I didn’t expect Pannis could really pull her into his realm. But this also shows that Ava completely trusts Pannis. Even when she lost her senses, she didn’t resist his realm."

"Okay, I get it now," Lina said with a giggle, then asked, "But where is Ava now?"

"What do you think someone who got drunk the night before and exhausted themselves would be doing the next morning?" Pannis pointed to another room, "I reckon that until evening, we won’t see her again."

Lina laughed for a while, then suddenly, as if she remembered something, she sneakily glanced at the Winged twins and the scorpion-tailed lion Dillie. Pannis immediately understood her concern and shook his head, "Don’t worry, they have all promised to keep it a secret."

"Yeah, no worries," Maya responded from the other side, "We’re not really concerned about her identity, but I do admire Brother Kyle. He really has all sorts of people around him. It’s one thing to have Undead, but to think he even has Deities, that kind of courage is quite astonishing in some ways."

"Ava is fine, Lady Denia personally confirmed it," Pannis explained, "And after spending so much time together, I think we can completely trust her."

"Then we have no objections," the twin sisters shrugged, yawning in unison like one person, rubbing their eyes and saying, "You guys kept us up all night yesterday; we’re dead tired. We’re going to get some sleep and see you in the evening."

"Everyone should go back and rest a bit more," Catherine nodded, "You always need to catch up on sleep, and it’s better to do it earlier."

"Big sister, go ahead and sleep," Lina thought for a moment and seriously said, "I have some personal business to attend to."

"Oh?" Catherine atypically didn’t ask anything nor give any instructions, just casually nodded, "Then take care of yourself, we’re going to sleep now, good night." (To be continued.
