Chapter 13: Chapter 11 [No, you can’t do that]

Chapter Eleven: Not Allowed

Li Yingwan fainted into Chen Nuo’s arms.

When she woke up, she found herself lying on the sofa in her living room. The girl’s first reaction after waking up was to sit up quickly and look around.

Familiar room, familiar sofa, familiar lighting...

A piece of clothing that had been covering her lay on the ground. It was an oversized, oddly styled blue and white sport coat—the strangest part was a large hole in it, as if someone had cut out a piece with scissors.

"Awake?"

Chen Nuo’s voice came from behind her.

Li Yingwan swiftly turned her head and saw the young man standing behind her, leaning lazily against the wall, holding a bowl in one hand and chopsticks in the other.

Chen Nuo quickly finished the chicken soup in his bowl, put them down, and pointed at Li Yingwan’s school uniform. "Can I have my clothes back now? I covered you with it because I was afraid you’d be cold while you were unconscious. You were clutching it so tightly, and I didn’t want to wake you, so I just left it on you."

As he spoke, Chen Nuo snatched back his school uniform. The girl’s small face instantly scrunched up, and she looked pitifully at Chen Nuo.

Her hands clutched the corners of his uniform tightly.

Chen Nuo sighed with a helpless smile. "Hey, little girl, these are my clothes, you know."

Li Yingwan lowered her head, looked carefully at the uniform again, and her face reddened. Finally, she let go.

Chen Nuo took back his uniform, carelessly bunched it up, picked up the backpack from the corner, and stuffed it inside.

"I warmed up the chicken soup in the pot; it’s quite tasty. Your brother was injured, but your mother has already treated him." Chen Nuo sat in front of Li Yingwan, looking at the girl’s somewhat lost and bewildered eyes. He took a deep breath and tried to make his tone even gentler. "Before you woke up, I explained some things to your mother. Hmm... she’ll tell you the specifics. My advice is not to call the police; I’ve already thoroughly erased all the trouble."

Chen Nuo looked at the familiar yet somewhat immature face before him. He instinctively reached out, as if wanting to touch the girl’s cheek, but his hand paused halfway, stopping awkwardly.

A strange light suddenly flickered in Li Yingwan’s eyes. With a clumsy movement, she strained forward... and pressed her cheek against Chen Nuo’s palm.

Chen Nuo was startled.

"Why... why do you talk in such an old-fashioned way? You look about my age," Li Yingwan said cautiously.

Chen Nuo didn’t answer her question. Instead, he asked, "Were you very scared tonight? That scene... um, I didn’t have much time, so I couldn’t handle it better. If conditions had allowed, I wouldn’t have wanted you to witness any of it."

"...Not scared." Li Yingwan was silent for a moment before blurting out, "You told me not to be scared, so I... I wasn’t scared!"

The girl gazed at Chen Nuo, finally unable to hold back her questions. "Can you tell me, who exactly are you? And what exactly happened tonight? You... you said you came from the sky?"

"Hahahaha." Chen Nuo shook his head and gently stroked the girl’s hair. "Little kids shouldn’t ask so many questions. Your mother will tell you the specifics. Oh, right, your mother was a bit shaken. I used a little trick; she’s asleep now and will wake up in about an hour. As for your brother... he’s too hot-tempered, so I tied him up."

At this, Chen Nuo’s expression suddenly turned stern. His fingers slid from the girl’s hair to her ear, and he gently pinched it, scolding, "Remember to study hard in the future, got it? Also, don’t copy adults and swear! Remember that? Oh, right! And definitely don’t get tattoos! Getting tattoos at such a young age is hideous! Don’t learn to smoke, and don’t learn to drink... Hey! Did you remember what I said?"

Li Yingwan nodded slightly and whispered, "Mhm, I won’t swear, get tattoos, drink, or smoke... I’ll do it! Everything you said, I’ll definitely do it!" After a pause, a hint of pleading entered her tone. "Can you... at least tell me your name?"

He playfully tapped Li Yingwan’s forehead. "Why ask so many questions, little girl?"

With that, Chen Nuo stood up.

Li Yingwan immediately jumped up anxiously. "Are you... are you leaving now?"

"Yes! Otherwise, should I stay here for New Year’s?" Chen Nuo chuckled. He walked into the kitchen behind the living room and then came out dragging the largest suitcase.

He approached Li Yingwan. She looked up at Chen Nuo, her eyes red. "You... tell me, are you human? You... you’re not an angel, are you?"

"Ptooey!" Chen Nuo looked disdainful. "Angel? I don’t believe in God; I believe in Brother Guan!"

Just then, the large suitcase on the floor seemed to move. Chen Nuo, without hesitation, kicked it repeatedly, shouting, "Stop moving! Move again, and I’ll hit you with a brick!"

Li Yingwan was frightened. "Th-this is??"

"He Zhengzai," Chen Nuo said, sounding somewhat helpless. "He’s still a little useful to me."

As he spoke, Chen Nuo started to leave, but then he looked down and saw Li Yingwan’s small hand tightly gripping the corner of his clothes.

Chen Nuo thought for a moment, then looked at Li Yingwan very seriously. "I really have to go, do you understand?"

"Will I see you again?"

Chen Nuo looked at the undisguised attachment in the girl’s eyes and said softly, "Do you like fireflies?"

"...Yes. In the summer, my brother took me to catch some."

"Don’t catch them anymore."

The girl wanted to say more, but she felt his hand gently touch her neck, and then... her vision began to blur...

When Li Yingwan woke up again, she looked at the empty living room, her eyes dim with disappointment.

But the next second, she suddenly jumped up and ran around the room, frantically searching, until she found a piece of paper and a pen!

The girl’s expression was exceptionally serious as she quickly wrote lines of text on it.

No swearing.

No getting tattoos.

No learning to smoke.

No learning to drink.

No catching fireflies.

Having written this far, the girl frowned in thought. Then, with an "Ah!" she lightly smacked her forehead and continued to write another sentence on the paper:

...Believe in Brother Guan.

But... who is Brother Guan?

Just then, Li Yingwan’s eyes suddenly lit up! f\ree webn ovel(.)com

She leaned over the desk, writing and drawing furiously, sketching a few strokes, tilting her head to think, then adding a few more.

Moments later, she had awkwardly drawn a pattern resembling characters on the lower half of the paper!!

This was Li Yingwan, drawing from memory!

This pattern was what she had carefully observed on the blue and white sport coat the last time she woke up, noticing a string of characters on it!

Although she couldn’t read them, Li Yingwan had forced herself to memorize the appearance of those characters!

Now, on the white paper in front of the girl, the upper half was neatly written with a series of "No..." rules.

And the lower half, with the characters she had forcefully memorized and copied, was clearly...

Jiangning No. 8 Middle School!

Hmm? Although I don’t understand it, this seems like Chinese!

Ah!! I remember there’s a Chinese dictionary in my brother’s room!!

Ah! Brother!

That man said he tied up my brother!!

When He Zhengzai was released from the suitcase, his body was contorted.

This was quite normal; even though He Zhengzai wasn’t tall and had a slender build, and even though the suitcase was the largest size, Chen Nuo had unhesitatingly broken one of his arms to stuff him inside!

He Zhengzai had fainted from the pain at least twice.

When he was let out, he rolled on the ground, and after lifting his head, he fell into despair.

He recognized the place—it was one of his own residences! A secret hideout in Seoul.

"Who the hell are you!" He Zhengzai gritted his teeth and asked hoarsely.

Chen Nuo didn’t answer. He grabbed He Zhengzai’s foot and dragged him across the floor from the living room to the bedroom.

He moved the bedside table from its original position, revealing a safe. "Let’s make a deal. You open it."

"Will you let me go?"

"I can let you die with some dignity."

"D-dignity?"

"Yes, you can pick the most presentable clothes from your wardrobe to change into, and then die." Chen Nuo’s tone was very sincere. "Isn’t that very dignified?"

"..." He Zhengzai suddenly knelt and tried to hug Chen Nuo’s legs. "Please let me go! Please!! I beg you!! Spare me!!!! I can give you money, lots of it! I’ll give you everything! Don’t kill me! I don’t want to die!!"

Chen Nuo remained silent, pointing at the safe. Though he was smiling, his eyes were ice-cold!

Recalling the young man’s brutal methods and his earlier calm act of breaking his arm... He Zhengzai couldn’t muster even a shred of courage to resist.

He opened the safe. "There’s a ledger inside, which records..."

He Zhengzai stopped mid-sentence, realizing the young man was completely uninterested in any so-called ledger.

Chen Nuo took out a plastic bag and stuffed some US Dollar bills and a few gold bars from the safe into it, then put it in his backpack.

A ledger? Chen Nuo had no interest in such things. He had just dropped by to pick up some easy money.

Yep, about fifty thousand US Dollars, and a few bars. Can’t be helped; a reincarnator needs to eat too.

Chen Nuo put the money away and then carefully looked around... He had meticulously worn gloves throughout the entire process, ensuring he left no fingerprints.

Alright, now I can kill this guy. Chen Nuo was contemplating this when he suddenly caught sight of a picture frame hanging on the wall out of the corner of his eye.

In the frame, He Zhengzai stood beside a white luxury yacht, his face a mixture of boastfulness and arrogance.

Chen Nuo smiled. He grabbed He Zhengzai and, pointing at the photo, asked, "Is this boat yours?"

"...Yes."

"How fast is it?"

"...Maximum speed is 30 knots."

Chen Nuo quickly did some calculations and smiled cheerfully. "Then, let’s add another term to the deal. I want this boat."

"..." He Zhengzai suddenly mustered his courage. "Then you must let me go!! Use it, exchange it for my life! You can’t kill me."

"Alright. Deal. I’ll let you go," Chen Nuo agreed readily. "Where’s the boat?"

He Zhengzai was dead.

Chen Nuo had forced him to drink two entire bottles of whiskey, then kicked him into the sea.

As for whether a drunk person could swim back to shore... well, considering the yacht was at least ten kilometers from the coastline at that moment, Chen Nuo optimistically felt the possibility was slim.

Besides... Chen Nuo had attached a stainless-steel chain to the guy’s ankle, linking it to a tempered glass coffee table he had removed from the yacht.

Chen Nuo had weighed it; the coffee table was about twenty kilograms.

Yep, one kick, one down.

As for his promise not to kill him... Oh, he changed his mind. So what?

Incidentally, another iron chain on the coffee table was tied to another person’s foot.

The other person was named Han Zhengyuan. He had been a good friend of Li Yingwan’s father. He was also the one who, in her previous life, Li Yingwan had sought refuge with after escaping, only to be betrayed and sold out by him. Simple enough: before setting sail, Chen Nuo had taken a quick detour to Han Zhengyuan’s house—it was close by, just a short drive.

Sitting in the cockpit, Chen Nuo turned on the navigation instruments and confirmed the nautical chart and course. The yacht gradually picked up speed.

Under the early morning sunlight, the young man’s cheerful singing echoed from the yacht.

He hummed the song while setting the cruise control.

Chen Nuo finally slumped into the chair.

A few minutes later, his nose started bleeding!

Sure enough, one shouldn’t carelessly practice ultimate moves. Chen Nuo nonchalantly wiped the blood from his nose, looked up at the azure sky, chuckled for a moment, then flipped the sky the middle finger!
