Xyrin Empire
Chapter 741

Chapter 741: 741

Sandora was at that point following Bingdisi’s household Divine Servant, who was in charge of cooking, and was rapidly wrecking the Rogue Goddess’s kitchenware under the guise of offering help. My emergency summoning saved Bingdisi’s family dinner; she should thank me.

Big Sister, Sandora, Qianqian, Lin Xue, and Bingdisi’s family of three, a whole group of them had gathered in the Dark Light Hall, which was beyond my expectations. It seemed that everyone was curious about what Father God had said to me when he kept me behind alone.

"The only time I remember being kept behind alone by Father God for a talk was when I was a child and had smashed Uncle Sovare’s Light Fixing Roulette. I was educated for an entire afternoon," Bingdisi candidly shared her curiosity about my experience, "so I’m very eager to know what normally gets discussed when Father God keeps someone for a talk."

"Unfortunately, you might find the content uninteresting." I glanced sideways at this well-known problem child of the Divine Realm and started off by picking out the main points, relaying Father God’s "recent" conjectures about the origins of the Abyss without missing a word.

Because I didn’t fully understand those complicated theories, I was worried about giving Sandora the wrong impression due to any omission in my description, so I recited everything exactly as it was, leaving out no detail and just paraphrasing whatever Father God had told me. It took more than half an hour to finish discussing that mind-numbingly complex stuff until I was parched and out of breath.

Bingdisi immediately showed a look of disappointment on her face and collapsed into Aunt Aisali’s arms, "Ahh, I knew it would be this kind of boring stuff. No wonder I’ve seen the Old Man Alliance holding meetings all night long recently... I hate these pure theory classes the most!"

Ignoring Bingdisi’s bored distortion on one side, Sandora had already fallen into serious shock and prolonged thought after hearing my account. It was clear that the nature and initial source of the Abyss had always been one of the ultimate pieces of knowledge that the Xyrin Empire had sought but never attained. Even during the most glorious times of the Old Empire, they likely hadn’t known a truth of such magnitude. The intelligence Father God gave us was so unexpected, it was enough to be called a huge surprise, one that even the Imperial Leader would be stunned by: the results of our race’s millions of years of tireless exploration, which were destroyed once the Old Empire collapsed (if they had ever existed), had now so easily fallen into our hands?

Being spiritually connected to Sandora, I easily felt the turmoil in the heart of the golden-haired girl beside me. I should admit, I was not initially as touched as Sandora had been. An Imperial Leader who had joined in halfway could not be compared to a true Xyrin Apostle with millions of years of emotional ties to their race. I could hardly empathize with Sandora’s feelings, but even the excitement I felt through our spiritual connection was enough to understand the profound impact this truth had on Her Majesty the Queen.

"I didn’t expect that," Sandora shook her head gently, "the truth turned out to be like this. Since it’s something Father God has personally verified, there shouldn’t be any problems. But I really didn’t expect the answer to a question that many Xyrin Apostles sought their whole lives to be presented to me today, in this way... Ah Jun, it’s too sudden, couldn’t you have given me some preparation time?"

Seeing Sandora behave a bit petulantly for once, I could only indulge her by pinching her nose, understanding her contradiction: it wasn’t in a busy research center, not in a strict command room, nor in a formal leadership meeting, but just in this familial chatting atmosphere, the ultimate secret that had troubled the empire for millions of years was revealed—like punching cotton or spitting on integrity, what a frustrating feeling of helplessness?

"The Abyss comes from Order, this is really unheard of," Uncle Kuwayin was still maintaining a poised and proper expression, but his complexion was a bit unnatural. It seemed this news was currently being circulated among the "Old Man Alliance," namely the upper echelons of the Osiris Council, as a research topic, and although not the highest secret, was not disclosed to all members of the Divine Race. Uncle was hearing Father God’s research conclusions for the first time, and his shock was probably no less than ours, but his composure made him restrain himself well, and I didn’t know whether it was right to so inadvertently publicize everything Father God had told me, "We’ve always been guessing in the opposite direction, yet the truth lay behind us."

"Dad, stop being so dramatic."

Bingdisi raised her head from her mother’s arms and reproached Uncle Kuwayin without any courtesy. Right now, she wasn’t even dignified as a High Order Goddess let alone as the leader of hooligans. She had wholly become a quirky daughter playing cute, demonstrating in front of us that Bingdisi truly saw the Imperial Leader’s family as her own. But I really didn’t know where to put my eyes: please understand that the impact of a massive girl acting cute and the resulting revelations...

"What a pity, although the truth is exciting, it can’t bring any substantial benefit to the Empire."

Sandora had already quickly calmed down from the initial shock and the regret in her ocean-blue eyes was evident. She had seen through another implication hidden within this huge surprise.

"If the birth of the Abyss is the ’Zeroing’ of the Void at work, then there’s no way we can stop this process. As long as the world continues to be born, there will be residue like the Abyss that appears. According to Father God’s theory, let alone avoiding this residue, we don’t even have a way to reduce it."

"The process of becoming ordered inevitably means ’non-order’. The so-called Abyss, in essence, is actually the materialized wish of the Void’s ’Zeroing’. Everything returning to zero; this is really something..." Uncle Kuwayin sighed, shaking his head, "This touches upon the nature of the Void. Even beings of the Divine Race are powerless to reshape the entire Void. King of the Mortal World, Sandora, you have indeed hit the nail on the head."

"Forget it, let’s not get hung up on this issue anymore," Sandora sighed, shaking her head forcefully, her golden hair reflecting a dazzling brilliance as if the young girl had also tossed her worries to the back of her mind, "Ah Jun, was there something else?"

"Oh, now I feel that issue isn’t so urgent anymore," I scratched the back of my head, as usual, scratching the small head of the Mercury Lamp in the process, "So, Father God said I am not human, but a Void Creature—does any of you know what a Void Creature is? After saying that, he just let me leave without explaining clearly."

I finished speaking a bit dejectedly, and suddenly realized that the atmosphere in the hall had changed.

Qianqian still wore a somewhat bored and confused expression, disinterested in these topics, she was nodding off, and didn’t even look up upon hearing that her boyfriend suddenly wasn’t human. In this girl’s logic, "Ah Jun" + "alive" was all that was needed to set her mind at ease; nothing else mattered as much as play and sleep. Big Sister still had that healing smile, just with a thick layer of concern and a bit of confusion on her face, but the ones who caused the change in the atmosphere were the others: Sandora, Bingdisi, Uncle Kuwayin, and Aunt Aisali.

Lin Xue also raised her head, staring blankly over here, not knowing what to think.

Clearly, many people present knew the meaning of the words "Void Creature", and Lin Xue probably sensed something.

"Uh, Chen, are you sure?" Bingdisi was the first to break the silence, raising her hand hesitantly, "Father God said you’re a Void Creature?"

Sandora simply came over and pinched my body, her eyes even beginning to flash with blue light: this girl was using one hundred thirty-two types of Energy Radar to give her boyfriend a CT scan, and I felt all the hair on my body stand on end.

"How can that be!" Without waiting for my reply, Bingdisi shouted out, "Void Creatures... you don’t encounter those easily! These things are taught as theory in universities, and Father God actually said you’re a Void Creature?"

"One hundred percent a material being!" Sandora pinched my flesh, "I scanned Ah Jun from head to toe, I didn’t miss a single spot. Where is there any trace of a Void Creature, huh?"

Upon hearing this, I quickly reached out to cover Sandora’s mouth: "Let’s not do this in broad daylight..."

Big Sister made a special trip to stand up and give her own brother a head knock, while Sandora bit me.

"So, could you stop speaking in riddles and at least tell me, what is a Void Creature?"

"Do you really want to know?" Uncle Kuwayin recovered from his surprise and looked at me with a peculiar expression, "So everyone here knows what’s going on, and you all just pick on me, an illiterate?"

"Don’t get me wrong, Chen, it’s just that this piece of knowledge is a bit too explosive," Bingdisi subconsciously stroked her glorious silver hair that reached her ankles and began to choose her words carefully. "Let’s put it this way, a Void Creature, as the name implies, is a ’life’ directly birthed by the Void. Now, pay attention to this, under normal circumstances, all life is born from a world, including us from the Divine Race, born in the Divine Realm. The Void, however, should give birth to worlds. Life and the Void are separated by a nurturing ground called the world. But, in a case nearly theoretical in nature, the Void Creature is a direct result of the Void nurturing a consciousness."

I was immediately stunned, and then I beamed with joy, "Holy moly, am I defying the heavens here?"

The rogue goddess sneered, "Dream on, that’s impossible in this book."

I grinned, "That line’s definitely getting cut!"

While I was bantering with Bingdisi, Uncle Kuwayin kept sizing me up nonstop, until I was creeped out by the intense scrutiny of the old man. Then, the uncle began to speak, "Void Creatures do indeed exist, but the chances of them appearing are so slim they’re practically theoretical. In theory, there are two types of Void Creatures, and the first is called the Original Will."

Bingdisi took over, "That is, the will of the Void itself. Don’t stare, the Void, due to its nature, cannot, in theory, present any rational state. But don’t forget, it is the origin of everything, encompassing all possibilities and impossibilities. In the Void, the probability of anything happening is zero, but under zero probability, anything can happen—it’s such a paradox because in the Void, happening and not happening are the same state. So the appearance or non-appearance of the Original Will is one and the same event. With this inexplicable theoretical support, the first type of Void Creature came into being. It represents the Void itself, or rather, the rational aspect of the Void after it has personified some aspects..."

"Today is truly a disaster for the illiterate."

I gestured with a dizzying signal to pause for a while, as I tried to sort out Bingdisi’s explanation. I knew this subject was basic knowledge in Divine Realm’s mandatory education, but it was obviously not meant for mortal wisdom.

Dingdang crawled out of its pocket, fell to the ground with a plop halfway through, "Dingdang... Dingdang needs a rest... So terrifying, class is terrifying..."

The dumb goddess doomed to eternal makeups fled the classroom, and Bingdisi continued, "The Original Will is the most powerful thing. It is above all that can and cannot be described. It is the Void itself but with the ability to control itself. Speaking hierarchically, the Original Will is at a theoretical apex..."

My heart thrilled with delight, thinking to myself that this is truly defying the heavens, and I quickly confirmed, "Has this Original Will ever appeared?"

"Of course, the Father God is one of them," Bingdisi said casually, then smiled as she watched me fluster in the wind.

"You probably don’t know, but Father God is not a god—he commands the Star Domain Divine Race, but he isn’t any kind of deity. He’s different from all beings. He possesses no power because his authority is above the concept of ’power.’ The Star Domain Gods would say the Lord is omnipresent, a prayer dedicated to the Father God, because he is the Void—at least one aspect of it. Thus, all things in the world are equal to Father God, and Father God equals all things. That’s why Father God is the only being who can directly study the Void, even changing it to some extent, although he is only one aspect of it. Hence, he created the gods to assist in his work, like purifying the Abyss. This is the truth of the Divine Realm."

Big Sister slightly opened her mouth in surprise and after a long time, she said uncertainly, "Is it alright to freely speak such secrets?"

Bingdisi waved her hand, "The founding Chapter is available for free reading in any library. My first lesson in elementary school was the story of Father God. Although this is the most fundamental truth of the Divine Realm, it’s as common knowledge as the names of the founding leaders."

Okay, okay, Father God is way out of my league. He’s not a GM; he’s the GM’s daddy. So, was I speaking directly to the Void this afternoon?

Although Father God was just one of the many manifestations of a certain state of the Void, the true form of that "God" still left me dumbfounded. And then came the endless speculation about my own identity—if a Void Creature is the Void itself, then surely I must be defying the heavens today!

"Ah Jun, you’re drooling." Sandora pulled out a handkerchief and wiped the corner of my mouth, "Stop dreaming. There are only two original wills, one is Father God, and the other is the leader of the Huron Divine Race. Your turn will never come."

"Can’t you let me fantasize a bit longer?" I wiped the corner of my mouth, "I know it’s not going to happen, but it’s nice to dream. I even spent two hours staring at a scam message about winning two hundred thousand before deleting it—er, Bingdisi, please continue. One type of Void Creature is the original will, which is out of my reach, but what about the second type? That must be something impressive, right?"

Subconsciously, I assumed that even though Void Creatures were divided into two types, the difference between them couldn’t be too vast. After all, they held the same status, as beings directly born from the Void, sitting higher than the world on the "creation ladder." Since Father God deemed me a Void Creature as the original will, it definitely wasn’t a hoax. But in terms of abilities, a Void state that couldn’t even manage to form facial features clearly couldn’t match Father God’s level. I was undoubtedly the second type Uncle Kuwayin had mentioned. That’s right, the second...

"The second type, ah..." Bingdisi teased with a mischievous grin before pointing at my nose, "I’m afraid to disappoint you, but the second type of Void Creature is poetically called: stillbirth."

Right then and there, I desperately wanted to find a brick. I might not be a match for you with my bare hands, but I refuse to believe I can’t beat you with a brick in mine!

"Hey, hey, hey, calm down, calm down," a certain blasé Rogue Goddess waved at me with a chuckle, not feeling sorry at all, "Don’t get worked up. It’s just a colloquial name. In class, we usually refer to the second type of Void Creature as ’World Precursor Incomplete,’ though it’s a mouthful. It’s a theoretical case. Everyone knows that worlds can be born in the Void, and a world is a ’self-sustaining system where various orders entangle around an information explosion point as the center, then form a stable state over time with the protection of a world barrier.’ That’s normal. But where there’s normal, there can be accidents. Suppose something goes wrong during the world’s self-creation process... like its various orders failing to match correctly, flaws appearing in the world barrier, or even worse, it forms a world barrier, but the central information explosion point inside is insufficient to create everything in the world, ultimately producing an empty shell: the Void on the outside, a world barrier mid-layer, and still the Void inside. These ’dead in the womb’ universes are your stillbirths."

I was about to speak, but Bingdisi gestured vigorously with her hand to indicate there was more to come.

"Of course, in such a case, a stillbirth isn’t yet a Void Creature. In general, failed evolutionary worlds get consumed by the Void. They’re riddled with flaws, the orders within them conflicting, leaving them defenseless against the erosion of Void Energy. In fact, according to current observations, all world ’stillbirths’ get swallowed except for one theoretical possibility: life has already emerged within the failed world. By ’life,’ I mean in the broadest sense. It doesn’t have to be a tangible living being like humans, but could merely be a consciousness, even the simplest form of it, or just a flicker of spirit from the premature world itself. If this consciousness realizes its own existence, the distinction between life and death... a miracle happens.

This consciousness will fuse itself with the remains of the world, and then with the invading Void, bit by bit, using the Void to reconstruct its own form... Ultimately, the world’s remains dissolves away like flesh submerged in a chemical solution, and what is left—a soul, takes on a completely new life form. It might be an incorporeal being, because after such a process, it’s uncertain if it retains a physical body. This new individual is the second type of Void Creature, born from a prematurely ended world, with the Void and the soul at its core forming its body. Theoretically, it has been assimilated by the Void, but in essence, it’s still capable of thought. This point was worth twenty points on the final exam..."

I knew Bingdisi’s last statement was trying to lighten the mood, but it was clearly a dumb technique. I was too preoccupied to critique whether that twenty-point knowledge point fit any course, instead pondering a question: So according to Father God, I’m the consciousness of a failed evolutionary world?

If we consider the world as a body, then Gaia—no mistake—is the soul within mysticism, and according to Father God’s implication, I am a failed Gaia that lost its body before birth. But against all odds, not only did I not die, I even transformed into essence?!

I found myself especially disheveled by the wind today; two big things happened. First, I discovered what the Abyss was, and second, I had no idea what I was anymore! (To be continued.
