Gale smiled at her and Yanarym seemed to calm down. Yanarym looked at her and took another deep breath.

"Hansel kissed me." Yanarym blurted out and Gale was frozen. "Earlier, when Spencer and you were gone, there was a fight and all, and then..."

"Hey, hey, calm down, it’s alright, what happened? What did you do when he kissed you?" Gale looked at Yanarym’s eyes.

"I pushed him, we were shouting and he said, he will pursue me. I don’t understand, why is he doing all this? Isn’t he friends with Spencer?" Yanarym asked.

"Hey, it’s alright, don’t cry here... "

"I mean, they’re friends, right? Why is stabbing Spencer’s back? What a bastard of him. Spencer’s treating him as a true friend. He’s a shit." Yanarym grits her teeth while peering at Gale. "Don’t you agree?"

"Y-yes, I agree, he shouldn’t have done that if he’s a real friend." Gale made the distance between her and Yanarym, and she looked away, something chilly ran to her spine while making eye contact with her.

"Should I tell Spencer what Hansel did?" Yanarym asked, ignoring the awkwardness of Gale.

Quickly an idea sprang to Gale’s head. If Hansel made Yanarym cheat on Spencer first, then it means, Spencer could break up with Yanarym with ease... Spencer likes her, right? If they break up, she would be Spencer’s new girlfriend. Charitable... All she had to do was act piteously whenever Spencer was around.

Gale turned to her, "If you do that, their friendship will be broken, just let Hansel be, he didn’t hurt you, right? And I think he likes you, that’s why he did that."

"But is that alright? He harassed me, he said that I like him, but I don’t." Yanarym grimaces, "What if he does it again?"

"He will not trust me, Hansel is a good person, maybe he just got into the moment, you see, you’re the first girl he ever likes. I’m a witness to that." Gale uttered, and held Yanarym’s hand, "He won’t hurt you."

"You know that he likes me?"

"Yes, he likes you since the first time you met each other, remember at the library?"

"Gale... I don’t know what to say, so when you gave me the ticket for the cruise, did you know that he likes me? Why didn’t you tell me? If I knew that- I could have declined that ticket."

"Because I need the job, Rym. I need the money. I’m not like you, I can’t have anything with just a snap, I need to work hard for it. And do you think I will put you in danger? I will never do that." Yanarym didn’t reply, both of them looked at each other and then Yanarym nodded her head.

"I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have blamed you, and you’re right, Hansel didn’t hurt me," Yanarym murmured and Gale smiled.

"Are you talking about something serious?" Spencer asked and put a plate full of food in front of Yanarym. He leaned to kiss her cheeks and put his arm around her shoulders. "You two look so serious from afar." He added and looked at Gale. "Mind sharing?" Hansel brings Gale a plate of food similar to Yanarym’s... Gale didn’t like it. Her taste and Yanarym’s were different too. But she can’t be choosy and act sassy, Spencer’s here, it’s time to act goody-girl.

"It’s nothing babe, it’s girl stuff," Yanarym said to Spencer and focused her attention on her plate. "I’m so hungry, let’s eat." Spencer tucked her hair and agreed. They ate in silence,

After going around Europe Yanarym was convinced by the three that they should get back to the Philippines. Three months after that, everything was a little bit hazy and graduating students were busy with their graduation thesis and in the job training. Yanarym was sitting on the couch in front of her laptop and lazily typing on the keyboard and scrolling, searching for something on the web.

Guide-sama: "Spencer met with Gale."

"Great. Great." She exhaled upon hearing the progress. For three months, Spencer was still flirting with Gale. He was tricking Gale... Yanarym could discern that Spencer- he didn’t like Gale the slightest, which was not new but still surprising to hear.

It’s like a repeating cycle. But still a mystery, Yanarym couldn’t figure out what’s causing all that. Why do the male leads keep on hating their female leads? Well, Hansel doesn’t hate Gale, but he doesn’t like Gale too. There is so much pattern of male leads forsaking their female lead. Which was depressing, where is true love? Aren’t they supposed to be meant for each other?

In the book, Spencer was genuinely attracted to Gale. He liked her hard-working, smart, principled, and so on qualities of a female lead. Yanarym was a witness because she was a fan of this book! And she is disappointed with how things are going.

Guide-sama: "You’re supposed to be happy that things are going your way, and you are depressed because Gale isn’t having her way?"

"Yeah... "

Guide-sama: "Don’t you dislike Gale after finding out what she thought about the original?"

"Oh, that disappointed me a lot. I was expecting more from Gale."

For the past few weeks, Gale was insisting to Spencer that they should have them an official label. That’s right, Gale was the one who was insisting that they should come out and exposed their affair. Although Spencer was the one who initiated their affair- because Hansel pushed him to be with Gale. Spencer was only spoiling Gale with material things and never touched her. If it was not necessary, he wouldn’t touch her at all.

Yanarym anticipated that Spencer would like- fall in love with Gale or something like being mesmerized with Gale’s personality but nothing. Spencer just hates Gale to the core, and as the initial purpose of seducing Gale, Spencer wants Gale out of their lives as fast as he could. But that won’t happen, because Yanarym designated for them to be in that charade. She’

The plan was- control Hansel, the manipulator to manipulate Spencer and Gale into a relationship. And everything was working out the way Yanarym imagined it. Yanarym sighed.

Guide-sama: "What are your intentions with this twisted game of yours, Yanarym?"

"I’m bored." She grumbled. "I’m so bored, I want excitement."

Guide-sama: "I could see that, but how come when you are bored you stake your life? Is that normal for humans?"

"I guess not, but I don’t fear death, remember? It’s been five worlds, have I ever died while completing my tasks?"

Guide-sama: "You were so agitated at meeting Hansel for the first time, remember, you were so scared of him. And right now, you’re just chilling?"

"I’m not scared of him anymore. In addition, I’m researching for a way to die and get revived."

Guide-sama: "So what are you trying to do?"

Yanarym paused at scrolling the laptop and pressed her lips together. The plan was about making the one in power think that it was his idea- yet in reality, Yanarym was the one moving the puppet from above. With her strings at one hand while her other hand was resting on her palm- looking uninterested at the three puppets moving, just like how she intended it to happen. "Well, what else? I should make the male lead fall in love with me."

Honestly, she wasn’t expecting that everything that was happening was so easy. It turns out, Hansel wasn’t that psychotic at all, he’s kind of cute in a way too. Meaning, if he is not psychotic at all. He could fall in love. Very similar to Lapil... but very different too.

Guide-sama: "You are aware that your time is running out, right? You are not even trying."

"Chillax, Guide-sama, relax and chill, I can handle this."

Guide-sama: "I will trust you, but again, your time is running out." Yanarym rolled her eyes and lazed on the couch. How can she make Hansel fall in love?

The doorbell rang, Yanarym stood up from the couch and walked to the door. She saw Hansel outside. "Spencer’s not here." She spoke to the intercom.

"Let me in." She did open the door and Hansel surprised her with a bouquet of red roses. "Hey, sugar." He smiled widely and stepped in and kissed her cheek. "Are you alone? I guess you are."

"Why are you here?" Yanarym asked, but Hansel didn’t answer and walked straight to the kitchen to put the roses on the vase. "Hansel, how many times should I tell you that I am not-"

"I just wanna watch some movie," he said and turned to her, "But I want some company, you wanna go out?"

"I don’t want to. I’m busy with an assignment."

"Assignment? What is it about? I could help you."

"... You can?"

"Of course, sugar." Hansel finished decorating the vase with roses. He looked at Yanarym and walked to her. After three months of passive-aggressive interaction, Hansel finally caught on to how Yanarym reacts to him.
