Chapter 24

Even if the person Yanarym has is a person who Hansel considers his friend. What matters to Hansel is how to satisfy himself with this exhilarating agitation. And maybe, if he was done with Yanarym. After one time copulating with her- the thirst he was undergoing would be satiated.

"...why are you doing this to me?" Gale creased her brows looking at Hansel who was currently cozy and handsome in front of her. She’s given a break by her manager complying with Hansel’s request.

The summer break has started and it’s her time to dedicate herself to doing part-time jobs to save money for her tuition in the first semester of her last year in college. She’s also anticipating the cost of her thesis paper by the end of the school year. She can’t exempt the graduation fee that she had to pay gradually during her classes when the academic year begins.

"I’m just inviting you to join me cruising," he said smiling, chewing the cake he had ordered earlier. "Of course, you have to invite Yanarym with you."

"Hansel," She called him out frustratingly, "I’m trying to work my ass off to save money for my tuition and daily necessities. I have no time to play around like you, the rich people."

"I know you would say that, that’s why I am offering you a job." he instantly rebutted her with a smirk.

"A job? Of what? Luring my best friend to your lair? I don’t take money from doing dirty things."

"What?" Hansel chuckled, "Is that what you think of me? All I want is to know her better, be friends with her. You said that their relationship is very stable and harmonious, it’s not like I can seduce her."

"...are you sure?"

"Gale, I’m not a desperate person, do you think I lack women?" She bites her lips inward. It’s true, Hansel never lacks anything. He has admirers from left to right. Women flaunted their bodies and souls to him.

"No, but..."

"I just want to get closer to her." He smiled sadly which made Gale stunned. Seeing how sincere he is regarding this made her believe that he genuinely likes Yanarym and doesn’t want to make trouble for her.

"Alright, tell me about the job." She said, sounding defeated. Hansel seemed to cheer up with her agreement so he immediately explained what he proposed to her.

"All you need to do is serve for 5 nights and 5 days like you usually do- but this time it was a little high-class. On one of the dining areas of the cruise ship. I will help you apply for the position, and the payment, based on my knowledge, is ranging 30,000-80,000 in our currency." Gale’s eyes widened hearing how large the salary was.

"Why is the payment so high? Isn’t that illegal?"

"What? No! It’s the normal salary that you could get if you are serving a five-star cruise for five days in total." She had a long pause. She will totally do work with this kind of salary. But she was doubting if Yanarym would agree...

"But, Rym is not the type who would do part-time jobs for money, also, I don’t think---"

"Why would I let her do work? Silly, I’m offering you the job since you will not come if it’s not beneficial to you. If you are not there she would not come too."

"You mean?"

"I mean, I will invite her to have fun not to exhaust herself doing things you like to do. I told you I love her, didn’t I? I’m not petty, to let her do part-time jobs. She’s used to being served - not serving."

"I see." She bowed her head hearing this remark. Somehow, she felt sharp pain cuts straight to her pride. The fact that she had rejected him to have fun on the cruise to work, is what she is. Yet, hearing that Yanarym, would get to be treated like a princess without doing anything makes her sad.

She’s not supposed to, but she cannot help it. Basically, they are in the same shoes. Both are already orphans and have no relatives that could support them. They have no money or anything that could differ from each other...

Except that, Yanarym has a boyfriend who gives her everything she needed and wanted. Different from her who has to exhaust herself day and night just to get through her life. Sometimes, she feels that it’s too unfair. How could Yanarym be so high up if the one who was working --- she worked twice...no thrice harder than her? She would just need to act like a sweet and obedient girlfriend and she will get a designer bag or branded clothes.

She had to starve for days to buy something she needed---not even wanted but needed because of her tight budget. However, Yanarym gets to eat at a high-class restaurant, expensive cafes and travel to places if she wants to.

This is wrong, getting jealous of her best friend. She chose this path, she had to fight here until the end. Dragging her friend from her misery how is she any better than those stupid rich kids who bullied them before? She’s not a wretched person.

"I will first call Rym to hang around with me tomorrow at the Pavillon, after that I’ll tell her about your invitation to the cruise." She said nonchalantly. Hansel gave her a warm smile and stood up.

"If that’s the case, I will leave first." He said, "This is the ticket, you can give this to her tomorrow." He handed her the envelope which contained two tickets for the cruise named to Yanarym and Spencer.

"What if... she rejects?"

"If she rejects, I’ll invite Spencer."

"...you know Spencer? Rym’s boyfriend?"

"Yeah, I just found out that she’s his girlfriend." Hansel grinned.

"H-how do you know him?"

"You can say that, in your term, he is like my best friend too." He chuckled and shrugged before leaving Gale who was stunned by this connection of fate.

"He’s following us?" Gale asked, looking in Spencer’s direction not far from them. Yanarym sighed, not even glancing at him, and just sipped her mango shake.

"I can’t convince him to let me go alone," she said problematically, "At least I have persuaded him not to be closer than a 15-meter distance."

"Why do I get the feeling that he became more strict and overbearing than before?" Gale commented trying to recall how Spencer became so overprotective towards Yanarym.

"He has become more rigorous in terms of letting me off on my own."

"What happened? Was it because you tried to stay overnight at my place before?"

"No, that was a long time ago. Somehow, he just developed into something like that."

"What about him cheating? Did you both resolve that matter?"

"Yeah, fortunately, after that day, he never had sex with anyone but me." Gale blushed when she realized what Yanarym means by this. She can’t believe that her best friend, who she sees as innocent as an angel, was no longer a virgin.

"I-I’m glad that you are fine now." She stuttered and took a mouthful of cold coffee that she had ordered.

"Yeah, how about you? The fest was a success. Too bad, we had to go home before the main event." Yanarym said thinking about the day of the fest where she had a shopping spree with Spencer.

That man did not even stop her from spending so much money, in fact, he spoils her to the bone that he would encourage her to waste more cash. Now, she wonders how rich her boyfriend is.

"It’s alright, it was too crowded for you to have fun anyway," Gale smiled, "You still go on to your regular check-ups right? You know that your asthma attacks you every time."

"I’m no longer a child and my asthma vanished a long time ago. Never mind about me! Tell me, how are you?"

"I’m good, just one more year and we could both graduate. I could start to find a decent job with a regular high salary income."

"Your life is so tiring~ I can’t imagine myself working after graduation."

"I know you would say that," Gale laughed. "So, what’s your plan? Getting married?"

"Marriage? I don’t think so, Spencer never talked about that."

"If you don’t plan to get work or marry, what are you going to do?"

"I could read books or have a movie marathon. There’s a good series of anime and live adaption too." Gale laughs hearing how Yanarym plans her future.

"You really are Yanarym."

"Hey! What do you mean by that?!"

"You had everything in life so easy, I wish I could be just like you."

"Come on, you can always be like me. But I can never be like you, be proud!"

"Hahaha, you encourage me."

"Hmm, you’re so diligent and hard-working." Yanarym said daydreaming. "You are the best!"
