Chapter 425 - 43 Sea Tide

Chapter 425: Chapter 43 Sea Tide

When Ireya heard Li Yu’s promise, her mood visibly lifted, and she ordered a team of guards to hunt some game. Afterwards, the group returned triumphantly with their catch.

Before they even reached the castle, they spotted the Lion Flag of the Vespasian Family from a distance.

"Has the Royal Family sent someone?" Lady was somewhat surprised.

Furious Lion Alexandro had spent his life on horseback, constantly campaigning east and west, expending great effort to expand the Empire’s territories. However, as time passed, his descendants and offspring became increasingly reluctant to leave the bustling and lively Royal Capital.

At most, they might head to the large cities in the south to bask in the sun during winter, or to the ports in the east to enjoy some seafood, and to purchase rare and exotic goods brought by merchants from Foreign Countries.

As for the western territories, this land has always been poor, filled with swamps and forests, and was rife with bandits and mercenaries. Moreover, the local Nobles were mostly uncouth country bumpkins, so naturally, the dignitaries of the Royal Capital had little desire to come here.

The last time a member of the Royal Family had come was to supervise the collection of donations for the Life Goddess from the various Nobles of the western territories.

But Leo had already returned to the Royal Capital with the collected donations two months ago, to report his duties.

"It’s an envoy sent by His Majesty," Juan came out of the castle to greet them, bowing to both Lady and Li Yu. "I was just about to take some men to find you, Lady Ireya."

Upon hearing this, Miss Rabbit’s heart sank, "Another envoy? Could he be here to collect the overdue donations from the Arias Family?"

"It shouldn’t be about that matter," Juan said, "I heard that he seems to be here for some kind of tournament."

"A tournament?"

"You will need to ask him personally about the details. The Lord is currently dining in the banquet hall, with Lady Alisa and Advisor Fosto attending to him."

"Alright," Lady nodded her head. Relieved to hear that the visitor wasn’t here to collect debts, she relaxed slightly.

She then glanced at her watch and said to Li Yu, "We’re short on time, do you need to go back to the Church’s land?"

Li Yu replied, "I won’t go back this time, I will just use the wireless radio station here to contact them directly."

"Alright, I’ll have Charlene take you up there. I’ll come find you after I’ve met with the envoy," Miss Rabbit said, but then she heard Juan add, "Prophet Merlin, the envoy specifically asked about you upon his arrival. It seems he also wants to meet you."

"In that case, let’s go together."

Li Yu didn’t know why the visitor wanted to see him, but since he was already here, he decided to go and check it out.

After that, he and Lady headed to the banquet hall on the second floor of the castle.

As they approached the entrance, they heard a man’s voice from inside, "As soon as I received the Emperor’s decree, I set off immediately, traveling day and night, making a long journey here, and this is the kind of food you serve me?"

"Lord Geoff, if there is any dish that you are not satisfied with, I’ll have the chef remake it immediately," a female voice responded. Miss Rabbit recognized it as her aunt Alisa’s voice.

"Dissatisfied with which dish? Frankly, I’m not too pleased with any of them, and your wine is terrible, too. I can hardly smell any fruit aroma, and the taste is as dry as an old woman’s chest. In the Royal Capital, only commoners would buy such wine."

"I apologize," Fosto said with a bow, "I’ll have someone check the cellar for cola right away."

"Don’t you dare touch my cola!" Lady burst through the door and entered from outside.

The conversation in the hall abruptly stopped.

A young Noble man dressed in a velvet coat, with a jade ring on his hand, looked up.

Objectively speaking, he was quite handsome, though his lips were a bit thin, lending him a somewhat harsh appearance.

Like all members of the Vespasian family, he also had red hair, but his color wasn’t as pure as Leo’s, and his little round ears stuck out a bit.

Ireya didn’t stop her advance and walked straight up to Geoff.

The pounding of her footsteps was like the beating of a war drum.

Fosto shivered, sensing trouble and was about to step forward to intervene, but the Lady had already spoken, "If you’re not satisfied with the food and drink on the table, you needn’t eat. Someone, clear this table of its dishes."

The young envoy clearly hadn’t expected someone to speak to him like that and was momentarily frozen on the spot, before eventually asking, "And who might you be?"

"Ireya, the owner of this castle," Miss Rabbit said.

"So you’re the Dragon Slayer Knight Ireya? I thought you would be more... burly," Geoff said with some surprise, sizing Ireya up and down as if he found it hard to believe that someone of her slight stature could defeat an Evil Dragon.

"I also thought that an envoy from the Royal Capital would be more... polite. At least, the last one was quite polite."

"Are you referring to my cousin Leo?" Geoff frowned, "In other respects I indeed fall short of him, but when it comes to manners, I consider myself beyond reproach. It is rather you who... Forget it, I have long since heard that the nobles of the Western Regions are crude and impolite, and you have merely confirmed this."

The girl raised an eyebrow, about to retort, when Fosto interrupted her.

"Lord Geoff, you mentioned that the Emperor sent you to deliver a message to Lady Ireya."

"Oh, no rush," Geoff replied, dabbing at his mouth with a handkerchief, before turning his attention to Li Yu with renewed interest, "Clothed in a black foreign outfit, so you must be that ’Prophet Merlin’ from the Double Rest Sect."

"The envoy has heard of my name?"

"Hmm, in fact, you’re quite well-known among the nobility in the Royal Capital."

"Because of the dragon slaying?" the Lady inquired.

"Oh no, dragon slaying might be a big deal in the Western Regions, but it’s only a trend in the Royal Capital for maybe a couple of months, then everyone’s attention is drawn to other more pressing matters."

"Such as?"

"Such as the affair of a certain Countess, or the latest hat fashion trend for the year."

"I fail to see the importance in that," Miss Rabbit frowned.

"That is precisely why you’re in the Western Regions and not the Royal Capital," Geoff chuckled disdainfully, looking at Li Yu, "But back to business, do you still have it?"

"What ’it’?"

"That blue Divine Medicine. You have no idea how crazy it sells in the Royal Capital, almost all the nobles are scrambling for it, men and women alike."

"The stuff works on women too?" Ireya asked, puzzled.

"Of course, which lady or miss in the Royal Capital doesn’t have one or two lovers? They’ve even given it a new name—’Sea Tide,’ a name as poetic as it is filthy, but oh so apt, wave after wave."

Geoff seemed excited as he spoke, "Bring out all your stock, I’ve come all this long way just for this. Give me one hundred, no, three hundred tabs of Sea Tide, and I’ll overlook the offense you’ve inflicted upon me just now."
