Chapter 270: Chapter 28 Miss Weasel’s Talent Show

Ireya dressed in her formal gown with the help of her maid.

This black gown was tailor-made for her by the best tailor in Rock Snow City a month ago, costing a hefty forty-nine gold coins, and that was with a discount triggered by her "Dragon Slayer Hero" title.

The price made Miss Rabbit wince for quite a while, but luckily, she was quite satisfied with the finished product.

The gown was made of a large piece of silk as the main fabric, cut in this year’s most fashionable style from the Royal Capital, with the rabbit family emblem of the Arias embroidered on the chest, and the cuffs adorned with golden patterns.

In short, it had face value and substance, and once put on, no one would dare to call Ireya a country bumpkin.

The only issue was that it was a bit tight around the waist...

It wasn’t that the tailor’s skills were lacking, nor that the measurements were wrong; in fact, it was the Lady herself who had asked the tailor to make the waist smaller.

At that time, Miss Rabbit was confident that she would certainly be able to shed that bit of extra flab on her tummy. After all, she had slain a dragon, so how could a little bit of fat stand in her way?

However, it turned out she really couldn’t deal with the fat.

A month had passed and not only had her belly not slimmed down at all, it even looked fuller, completely unable to fit into the new gown.

But Miss Rabbit had a trick up her sleeve. She took a deep breath, her abdomen immediately flattened, and then the maid quickly got to work, stuffing her mistress into the dress.

After getting dressed, the Lady exhaled a breath of stale air and looked down at her waist.

Not bad, if a bit snug.

Her stomach was uncomfortable, but she could endure it. Getting through the initiation ceremony shouldn’t be a problem.

As for losing weight... definitely next time.

But before she had even left, Knight Thomas, who was in charge of patrolling outside, brought her some bad news.

"What, you say there’s a village of people rushing over here? What’s the problem with that? Haven’t I said that all villagers on my land are allowed to watch this morning’s ceremony?"

"I’m afraid they’re not here to simply witness your initiation into the Church," Thomas said.

The Lady also remembered something, and slapped her forehead, "Oh shoot, how could I have forgotten about that!"

"I’ve arranged for people to keep an eye on the situation over there. They were quiet before, but it seems they’ve deliberately chosen today to cause trouble, clearly instigated by someone behind the scenes."

"It’s the people from the Silver Moon Church."

Miss Rabbit said with a headache. Actually, she hadn’t forgotten at all. As soon as she had promised those villagers justice, she immediately arranged for someone to investigate the matter, but unfortunately, there hadn’t been much progress.

Mainly because all the people involved were already dead. The two Sabbath men from the Double Rest Sect were burned to ashes, those Black Armored Cavalry fled, and afterward, no other witnesses could be found.

The only one who seemed to know something, Priest Jile, was tough as nails.

The Lady had brought him back to the dungeon, but he wouldn’t utter a word and even started preaching to the other prisoners, spreading the mercy and justice of Pisya.

"Why not resort to torture!" Thomas suggested, "Only this can pry his mouth open."

"No," Ireya said, "I promised those villagers that I wouldn’t lay a hand on Jile or that young man named Yacco, and the Church would only be too pleased for us to do just that."

"Then let me persuade those villagers to head back."

"By persuade, you mean... drive away, Sir Thomas," Miss Rabbit saw through the knight’s little scheme, "Please don’t do that, let them come."

"They will disrupt your initiation ceremony."

"No, they won’t. As their lord, it is my duty to administer justice for them, and Prophet Merlin will take care of this matter," the Lady assured, "I believe in him."

Seeing that the young girl had made up her mind, Thomas didn’t say anything more. He nodded and withdrew.

Before long, a procession of nearly a hundred people appeared at Teacup Castle’s gate.

When they were still a distance away, the gathered nobles within the castle first thought it was some dignitary arriving with a large entourage.

But as they got a clear view of the visitors’ attire, the expressions on their faces gradually changed, becoming peculiar, and the more perceptive among them had already sensed the beginning of a spectacle.

Take Angela, for example, who had been compelled to apologize to Miss Rabbit by her family’s pressure just yesterday—joy imperceptible to others flickered in her eyes now.

Miss Weasel held a glass of wine, pretending to admire the scenery outside, her face all seriousness, but inwardly she was already bursting with glee.

In this world, there was nothing more satisfying than seeing that damned rabbit have a bit of bad luck. And if there could be anything better, it would be to witness that misfortune twice over.

Lost in these thoughts, she then saw the Lady descending the stone steps of the castle.

Though she wasn’t fond of Ireya, Angela had to admit that today the damned rabbit happened to look quite beautiful.

Though lacking a bit in the chest, who would have thought that this individual who rarely exercised would unexpectedly possess such a fine figure? Not an ounce of excess flesh to be found—perhaps it was some sort of family talent?

The gown she was wearing added to her charm, obviously high quality and the latest fashion from the Royal Capital; one could only wonder how many years of radishes that damned rabbit would have to harvest to afford such a garment.

Angela curled her lip in a slightly sour mood at the thought but then noticed that the Lady’s complexion was a bit unnatural, her breathing seemingly held back as if inhaling were costing her money.

Miss Weasel found the scene somehow familiar but couldn’t recall why.

So, she took a small sip of wine to quell the jealousy bubbling up inside her.

However, the wine had barely reached her throat and before she could swallow, she suddenly remembered something, which caused her to spit the wine back out.

Perhaps realizing her indecorous behavior at the last moment, Angela hastily covered her mouth. The result was that she ended up performing a ’double dragon fountain’ for everyone with her nose.

The head of the Arias family was contemplating the villagers outside and the upcoming ceremony when he looked up to witness Miss Weasel’s display of talent and was taken aback.

He instinctively clapped twice before quickly realizing it was inappropriate and stopped.

Unfortunately, it was too late. Feeling humiliated, Angela’s face flushed red, her fists clenched and her whole body trembling. With all the strength she could muster, she squeezed out a sentence through gritted teeth, "You, you... you’re too much! After all, our family has given you no small amount of weapons and equipment."

Having said that, the daughter of the Immanuel family covered her face, crying as she fled towards her carriage.
