Chapter 125: Chapter 41: The Newcomer to Green Field

Just as Jude led a motley crew of mercenaries into the swamp, embarking on their dragon quest, a carriage from Duolin City slowly made its way through the grand gates of Teacup Castle.

It eventually stopped in the open space in front of the stone castle.

The carriage door opened, and a woman stepped out.

She was of short stature, probably only reaching Miss Rabbit’s chest, with bright brown short hair, and from which poked a pair of sharp, triangular ears.

Perhaps because she had just arrived at a strange place, she was a little nervous, her ears still trembling slightly.

It wasn’t until she saw an old friend in the crowd that her nervousness was somewhat alleviated.

Before she could make her way to that person, a tall figure suddenly burst through the crowd and ran up to her, excitedly shouting, "Priest Adele! Priest Adele, you’ve finally arrived! May the goddess’ light be with you!"

"Um..." Adele was startled, as the newcomer was very tall, almost twice her height, with a pair of large antlers full of branches on his head.

He didn’t look like a good person at first glance.

Before she left, her teacher had warned her that a terrifying heathen had appeared in Green Field, a man who claimed to be the Prophet and had deluded those lizard people bandits in the swamp into worshiping a deity named Saturday, even inciting them to massacre the goddess’ followers.

He was utterly wicked, could it be this man?

But Adele thought again, hold on, didn’t this person just mention the goddess? Which side was he actually on?

Fortunately, the young female priest didn’t have to ponder much longer as the man introduced himself, "Priest Adele, I am Anton, a teacher sent by the Church to teach the young people of the Arias family the Universal Language."

To facilitate communication with the female priest, Anton knelt on one knee.

Yet even so, Adele still had to look up slightly to meet the eyes of the Universal Language teacher.

The latter then lowered his voice and said, "Concerning the matters in Green Field, it was also I who reported to the Church, hmm, I have served the Arias family for many years and have some influence here, so if you need anything, just tell me."

"That won’t be necessary, I can speak directly to Irelia," Adele said.

"Miss Irelia is notoriously difficult to deal with, and she’s also very close to that Merlin..." Anton continued to whisper a warning.

However, Miss Rabbit on the other side of the conversation had become impatient, walking over and sizing up the young lady, incessantly clicking her tongue in wonder.

Adele’s dress differed from the nobles and commoners on the Bratis Continent, she wore a short-sleeved, white, long dress with blue-bordered cuffs, the hem reaching down to her feet, cinched at the waist with a belt, and over the dress, covered by a purple shawl, which at the most conspicuous place was embroidered with a silver moon.

"Who would have thought, you’ve become a priest so quickly!"

"I was always the best student in the temple and the most devout to the goddess; it’s not surprising that I could become a priestess. But you, becoming the Family Head of the Arias family and the master of this land, that is truly unexpected," the young female priestess said softly.

The two old friends exchanged a glance and couldn’t help but laugh out loud together.

Ireya, disregarding Anton’s astonished gaze, reached out and pulled Adelle into her arms, then began to pinch the priestess’ slightly chubby cheeks.

"I can’t speak for other places, but now that you’re in Green Field, you’re mine. If anyone on this land dares to bully you, just tell me!" Miss Rabbit declared boldly.

"Let go, let go, everyone is watching. It’s not like the old days in the temple, you’re a lord and I’m a priestess; we can’t fool around like this anymore, it makes us a laughingstock," Adelle said, her face blushing as she struggled to pull away.

But her strength was no match for her close friend, and after several attempts, she was still firmly rubbed.

Fortunately, Ireya knew when to stop; she didn’t rub too long and let go of the priestess after getting her fill. However, she then sneakily reached towards the priestess’ bottom, which was promptly evaded by the latter with a deft dodge.

Miss Rabbit didn’t feel regretful; as long as this person stayed in Green Field, wouldn’t there be plenty of opportunities in the future?

Ireya waved her hand grandly, "Come on, let me give you a tour of my castle and domain."

Adelle bit her lip and nodded.

The two, reunited after a long separation, chatted nonstop as if they had endless stories to tell.

Especially Ireya, who felt as if she returned to the simple life of eating, studying, and praying in the temple every day, momentarily forgetting her recent troubles, especially that dragon in the swamp.

For the entire afternoon, until sunset, they wandered and looked around, and even ate bread and roasted chicken prepared in advance on the grassy field.

But when night came and Miss Rabbit lay in bed, she didn’t close her eyes. Until the later part of the night, she sneakily slipped out from her room and stealthily entered Adelle’s.

Wearing a silly grin, she headed straight for the figure on the bed, only to... pounce on thin air.

There was no one on the bed, just a blanket with some straw stuffed underneath.

"I knew you would come tonight." The priestess’ voice came from behind Ireya, carrying a hint of resignation.

And there was Miss Rabbit, with her bottom still in the air, maintaining the pose of her pounce, chuckling, "Little Adelle, you might evade me tonight, but what about tomorrow, or the day after, or the day after that... Unless you don’t sleep, there will come a day when I will catch you in bed, huh huh, this lord has yet to savor the taste of a priestess."

"Stop it, Ireya," said the priestess, her face turning red with embarrassment at the unscrupulous lord’s words, but this time her complexion quickly returned to normal. She walked over to the bed and said softly to Ireya, who was sprawled on it, "I forgive you."

"What? For no reason at all, why are you forgiving me? I haven’t done anything wrong to you. From the moment you arrived in Green Field, I have treated you well, and you, Little Priest, not only are ungrateful but even dare to slander your lord," Miss Rabbit said as her face stiffened before she retorted.

"We lived together in the temple for a year, in each other’s company day and night. It isn’t easy for you to hide anything from me. Every time you do something mischievous, your ears wiggle more than usual. Also, you haven’t even asked me what I came to Green Field for, and it’s been half a day," Adelle noted.
