Wizard: I Can Refine Everything -
Chapter 652 - 57: Development Direction of the Werewolf Army
Chapter 652: Chapter 57: Development Direction of the Werewolf Army
The words of the White Wolf God left Ulysses and Richard dumbfounded.
Indeed, people like the White Wolf God come from a civilization different from theirs. The knowledge they start learning from the road to evolution looks common but is actually precious, something that a master of a native world may never fully explore in a lifetime.
"Gah, Richard, you’re a Wizard. Why don’t you prepare some educational material to give him a lesson?" Ulysses looked at Richard, his tone as if it was only natural.
"Hmm? Why don’t you prepare it? Isn’t Raven always fond of collecting shiny things?"
"Gah, mine’s not systematic, and if you write it, the youngsters below can also use it. It will enhance the knowledge of the entire race and prevent precious things from being wasted," Ulysses said in a matter-of-fact tone.
It must be said, his serious reasoning almost persuaded Richard. But having known Ulysses all these years, Richard could see expressions on his bird face.
Judging by the current expression, this guy was definitely talking nonsense.
He’s just plain lazy.
However, what Ulysses said actually made sense. After teaching goblin alchemy, Richard did not provide them with natural history education. This was because goblins already had solid knowledge of natural history, and at the time he had not conquered other worlds, so teaching natural history would be of no use.
But now, with new worlds developed, having an encyclopedic knowledge of natural history could save him a lot of work.
"Okay, I’ll handle the educational material," Richard shot a glance at Ulysses, "but you can’t escape from the other tasks. Tell me, how have the werewolves developed over the years?"
"Gah, what do you mean by ’development’?" Ulysses replied arrogantly, "Under my leadership, how could their development be poor?"
"Have you established a werewolf army?"
"Gah, of course I..." Ulysses’ arrogance stalled mid-air, and he awkwardly muttered, "I really haven’t."
Richard raised an eyebrow: "You’ve actually not developed a werewolf army? Encountering any difficulties?"
He did not believe that forming a werewolf army was due to Ulysses being lazy or incapable; the difficulty lies in making the army excellent and elite.
"Gah, the main issue is those alchemical equipment, which I hardly understand," Ulysses said awkwardly, "You know, werewolves and goblins are two different races, and when it comes to equipment choices, battlefield positioning, they differ significantly. Initially, it wasn’t too bad; the werewolf educational system borrowed from goblins, so their thinking was aligned.
But eventually, the White Wolf emulated you and established something akin to a Floating City Research Institute in the Immortal Country, which led to a division among scholars from both sides."
"What kind of division?" Richard asked curiously.
"Goblins still stick to their equipment, the Annihilation Gun, Chain Saw Sword, along with interchangeable armor plates, and elite ones also use Alchemy Power Armor."
Richard nodded gently: "Isn’t that good?"
"But werewolves don’t think so," Ulysses said helplessly, "Werewolves feel that the goblin equipment limits their racial talent after conducting research on themselves.
Their proposal is to wear heavy armor and use alchemical cannon akin to small mortars, while still employing long knives as their melee weapons. They also plan to incorporate Dao Artifacts into the equipment series."
Richard frowned slightly.
"Don’t they consider the resource issue? Equipping everyone with heavy armor, that consumes a huge amount of resources!"
"But they’ve calculated," Ulysses’ tone became more helpless, "Even the resources solely from the Immortal Country can support millions of the soldiers they talk about. And factoring in the development of fusion spirit technology, this number can still increase."
Richard was slightly taken aback and exclaimed: "Hmm? The Immortal Country has been developed to this extent?"
"Gah, you’ve been closed off researching for a full hundred years; to mortals, a hundred years is quite long."
Richard paced a couple of steps, continuously pondering the two proposals in his mind. But shortly, he decided not to make a decision for the time being.
Without seeing any actual products, he wouldn’t make a rash decision.
"White Wolf, take me to see the research institute you built," Richard smiled at the White Wolf God, "Let me see what good things these werewolves under your command have concocted for me."
"Yes, my lord."
The White Wolf God stood up, his mountain-like body bathed in sunlight, looking as if covered with a layer of gold. He leaped toward the sky, the air seemed to solidify under his feet, supporting his steps. In less than a breath, White Wolf was already standing thousands of meters high in the air.
"Wind Element Rules?"
Richard discerned the White Wolf God’s technique, murmuring to himself.
Following the White Wolf God into the sky, looking down from a high altitude, tens of thousands of devout werewolves were bowing in their direction, acknowledging them with reverence.
"Are they worshiping?"
"Yes, my lord."
Richard glanced at the buildings beneath his feet, only realizing that he was on Wolf Plain.
This land, where the ancient White Wolf King established the Royal Court, was completely sanctified after the White Wolf God chose to build his palace here.
The werewolf race lives much longer than goblins; even under familial rule, common werewolves can live up to eighty years. After more than a hundred years of development, the average life expectancy of werewolves has reached a hundred and fifty years, nearly doubling.
Because of this, even after a hundred years, there are still numerous devout pilgrims among the werewolves.
"Not bad, devout faith is a good thing. Someday, let Ulysses teach you how to establish a Divine Country, it’s a real shame to let the souls of these fanatics dissipate."
"Master Crow has already taught me. However, he said that collecting souls also requires you to collect a rule in order to receive the souls of all the fanatics."
Richard was taken aback for a moment, then quickly realized what Ulysses was referring to.
"There is indeed a rule, but it will take some time."
"It’s up to your convenience. Life and death are natural cycles; even if souls do not enter the Divine Country, no werewolf abandons faith."
Following the White Wolf God, Richard traveled all the way to a region in the northern part of the Immortal Country known as the Holy Fall Mountain Range.
"Master, this is the Dao College."
The White Wolf God pointed to the massive complex of buildings built against the mountain and said.
"Why choose such a place?"
Richard looked at the palace on the mountain, and the wizard’s utilitarianism couldn’t help but emerge. Built on a mountain, it’s inconvenient for movement and resource transportation; other than the nice scenery, there aren’t any advantages.
The White Wolf God, hearing this, was a bit embarrassed and said, "Master, isn’t this place quite nice? The scenery is beautiful, and resources are plentiful, although external transportation of supplies can only be done by air, but AAirship transport is pretty convenient too."
Upon hearing this, Richard looked over and indeed found a few areas within the palace complex similar to AAirship docks.
"The site selection is average, but since you like it, that’s what matters. Lead the way in for me, then."
The White Wolf God shrunk in size, gradually transforming into the familiar form of the Young Master that Richard knew before. The White Wolf God gestured invitingly and then led Richard into the largest building in the mountain range.
In the office, Miss Zhen looked at the supply requisition form her mentor had submitted and decisively marked it with a red cross. On her desk, a thick stack of documents loomed like a mountain weighing on her heart.
"Why are there still so many?" Miss Zhen said, somewhat frantically.
"Seems being the dean is no easy job either."
Hearing the familiar voice coming from behind her, Miss Zhen suddenly turned around. Behind her, Richard was curiously examining the room, and behind him stood the condensed form of the White Wolf God.
"My Lord, Wolf God, what brings you two here?"
Miss Zhen stood up and respectfully performed a church salute, showing not a hint of her earlier frustration.
"I heard there’s been a conflict between your Dao College and the Floating City Research Institute over equipment, so I’ve come to see your proposed solutions."
Miss Zhen was surprised and then bowed her head, saying, "I didn’t expect this matter to alarm you."
Richard smiled, "The Werewolf Army is inevitable; Ulysses cannot decide, so naturally, it’s up to me. It’s no big deal.
Take me to have a look."
"Yes, my Lord."
Although the overall structure of this Dao College was wooden, the interior still had many enchanted stone bricks and even enchanted metal plates used for partition and protection.
This made Richard quite satisfied.
A research place must have proper protection.
Through labyrinthine corridors and hallways, Richard arrived at an area resembling an indoor shooting range. Here, many werewolves were practicing archery or testing Dao Artifacts.
"Hmm, your Dao Artifact research is impressive," Richard said in amazement, looking at the realistic flying sword in the researcher’s hand.
Miss Zhen modestly responded, "It’s all thanks to the Artifact Refining Technique researchers, my lords. Without their research results, we couldn’t have developed so quickly."
Taking out a Crystal Stone Communicator, Miss Zhen adjusted the channel and called a few names. Soon, several young werewolves dressed in white robes arrived at the testing area.
The young werewolves immediately knelt upon seeing Richard and the White Wolf God.
"Greetings, my Lord, God Master."
"Rise."
"Thank you, my Lord. Thank you, God Master."
The werewolves stood up, and one of them took out a complete set of black full-body armor and an Alchemy Gun resembling a heavy machine gun from the magic pocket on his waist. Another pulled out a thick stack of documents from the pocket. The remaining two did not move, seemingly coming to serve as test subjects.
"God Master, here is our equipment and our documentation."
Richard took the documentation, quickly browsed through it, and then used spiritual power to examine the equipment the werewolf had taken out.
"Hmm, your idea is indeed unique."
Richard looked a bit surprised at the set of pitch-black full-body armor, noticing a design concept that was almost like exploiting a loophole.
This full-body armor consisted of multiple parts, and each part was inscribed with varying amounts of Daoist Text. The total number of these texts exceeded three hundred and forty-three, but because they each belonged to different components, it didn’t trigger the curse of the Power of Mystery.
However, these components were interlinked, essentially using a clever method to bypass the distortion in the Artifact Refining Technique.
