Chapter 93: 072 Recruitment (Seeking Favorites)_3
Refining the Steel Body Dharma Seal could, to some extent, increase physical defensive power.
To be honest, he wasn’t particularly moved by this. With the minor Spell Force Field and armor, his defensive power was already strong enough. However, even scraps of meat were still meat, and besides, the Steel Body Dharma Seal wasn’t bad either. As for the High-quality Beast Pills, they were purely a benefit; once obtained, they could be traded even if not consumed.
He slowly asked, "What about the potions?"
"That’s negotiable." Seeing Carl show interest, Susan’s eyes lit up, and she began to explain, "The chamber provides the materials, and you are responsible for crafting the potions. A certain quantity must be given to the chamber as a material fee. Some of the remaining potions can be given to the chamber’s stores for sale, and we will give you a portion of the profits. Finally, whatever is left, you can sell at your own shop."
As she spoke, she took out a piece of paper. The paper listed specific shares, including the minimum number of potions that needed to be crafted and turned over to the chamber each month, as well as the profit-sharing agreement. According to what was written there, Carl would essentially be working for the Dragon King Chamber of Commerce and wouldn’t earn too much. Of course, if he worked hard and crafted a quantity of potions exceeding a certain amount each month, his income would substantially increase.
Carl appeared thoughtful. He wasn’t too concerned about the income; his main goal was to have a fixed base of operations in Freedom Port. As for crafting potions, he planned to have Ayala do most of it, so it wouldn’t waste too much of his time.
When it came to specific profits, he naturally couldn’t just take her word for it, so the two of them began a vigorous discussion.
After a while, Carl asked, "When do I receive the Dharma Seal?"
The fact that the Brotherhood of the Sickle could change even predetermined Dharma Seals indicated internal power struggles and discord within their ranks. Given this, joining the Dragon King Chamber of Commerce wasn’t a bad choice.
"Now!" Susan chuckled and had someone bring over a wooden box. Opening the lid, a Dharma Seal lay inside. Steel Body!
"Heh..." Carl chuckled, shook his head, and reached out. "Deal!"
"Welcome!" Susan reached out with both hands, grasping Carl’s right hand with a warm expression. "Welcome to the Dragon King Chamber of Commerce!"

Green Vine Castle was located in the eastern part of Sigerno City, once belonging to the Duke of Saxony back when he was still an Earl. Later, when the Duke left, he transferred it to the Church. Large banquets involving the Church were usually held here.
This was an ancient castle surrounded by lofty stone walls and spire-topped towers, appearing solemn and mysterious in the sunset’s afterglow.
When Carl arrived, the band and singers were already in place. Elegantly uniformed performers were singing hymns. Sacred, melodious singing echoed throughout the castle and gardens, and most of the guests milling about wore solemn expressions. Joy, merriment, and frolicking seemed out of place in this setting.
Dana wore a hat decorated with feathers. The heavy headpiece, combined with her existing grogginess, made her lower her head from time to time.
"Commander." Carl, having no acquaintances here, could only approach her to make small talk. "Didn’t you sleep well last night?"
"Not just last night?" Dana rolled her eyes, forcing herself to sound more alert. "It’s been several days. In the search for Carey’s fiancée, we’ve scoured nearly the entire North City."
"That sounds tough," Carl said admiringly. "Carey is lucky to have such a considerate commander, and so are we."
He had heard about this. Carey, realizing he couldn’t rescue his fiancée on his own, had pestered all his colleagues at the Patrol Office. Everyone was trying their best to help him find her. As a result, the usually idle Patrol Office had become bustling with activity.
"It’s not just because of him." Dana shook her head lightly. "While investigating in North City these past few days, I’ve discovered that many girls have gone missing—almost one every day." Her expression turned somber. "There must be an evil force secretly abducting these girls. I don’t know what they’re planning."
"Hmm."
"You don’t seem surprised at all?"
"Er..." Carl shrugged. "I’ve heard some rumors."
"You’ve heard rumors?" Dana’s expression became stern. "If you heard something, why didn’t you report it? Don’t forget, you’re a Patrol Officer responsible for maintaining order in the city!"
"Commander," Carl sighed. "I can’t be the only one who knows about this. Anyone who asks around a bit will catch wind of it. If a noble’s child or an inner-city civilian comes to harm, the Patrol Office takes action. But when has it ever cared about the common people of the outer city?"
"You’re just making excuses for your irresponsibility!" Dana swung her arm furiously. "Fairness, Guardianship, Justice—whether noble or knight, everyone should uphold these virtues!"
"..." Carl opened his mouth, then sighed helplessly. "All right."
"Perhaps I have been too callous and indifferent. I hope you, Commander, can promptly capture those criminals and give the citizens an explanation." Then he added, "I mean that sincerely."
"Hmph!" Dana snorted.
She really couldn’t stand Carl’s indifferent and distant attitude. He was a noble and a Patrol Officer; how could he forget the meaning of justice and responsibility? But then again... how many of today’s nobles and knights still honored those long ’outdated’ codes of conduct? She scanned the crowd. The guests were all elegantly dressed, grave and serious, but which one of them hadn’t done something sordid in secret? Sigh... Dana sighed silently. A wave of exhaustion suddenly washed over her, but her fighting spirit quickly suppressed it. I am different! I must not stoop to that level!
A rustle of applause began—CLAP! CLAP!
At that moment, the music in the hall ceased, and everyone politely clapped their hands, applauding the performers.
"Isn’t today’s banquet supposed to be a farewell for Archbishop Antonio?" Carl asked, tilting his head.
