Chapter 82: 069 Beast Pill_2
"You’re talking about Great Divine Grace," Susan said with a smile. "Great Divine Grace is a Divine Gift, and the current Divine Grace Coins are crafted by imitating Great Divine Grace. That item is priceless and only collected by those truly powerful. I have only heard of it."
Great Divine Grace? Indeed, a fitting name!
Carl shifted the conversation. "If I wanted to acquire a type of Dharma Seal, does Miss Susan have any recommendations?"
"Oh!" Susan’s beautiful eyes twinkled. She looked Carl over carefully before speaking. "The most common powerful Dharma Seals include Steel Body, Eagle Eye, and Swimming. I would recommend Swimming. Once you refine this Dharma Seal, you can move through water just like a fish, which is more suitable for Freedom Port."
"Unfortunately!" She spread her hands. "The Swimming Dharma Seal is very popular, usually circulating only among acquaintances. Steel Body and Eagle Eye occasionally appear in shops for consignment. If you really want it, I can apply to the Dragon King Chamber of Commerce and notify you immediately once there’s news. As for stronger Dharma Seals, they are not sold privately."
"Not available now?" Carl asked.
"Not available." Susan shook her head. "Not just Swimming; Steel Body and Eagle Eye are also unavailable."
"Then never mind." Carl shook his head and sighed. "I am a Knight. Is there anything that I can use?"
Knight?
Susan perked up. She stood up, walked around the shop, and then laid out several items one by one in front of Carl.
"Blade of the Gale!" Picking up a scimitar, Susan said earnestly, "In the Endless Sea Domain, there is a creature called the Storm Seahorse, which can freely move through storms. This blade is forged from the horn of the Storm Seahorse and, when wielded with Battle Aura, it can produce a small tornado. The price is three thousand Divine Grace Coins!"
With a gentle swing, a gust of wind flew out of nowhere, traveling several meters before slowly fading away.
Great stuff!
Carl’s eyes lit up, though he felt some regret. If a Wizard skilled in crafting Demonized Items had been involved, this blade’s power wouldn’t be so weak.
"Phantom Fish Trident!"
Susan picked up a trident a little over a foot long and waved it with quite some skill. "Some say the Phantom Fish has Dragon Clan bloodline. I don’t know if that’s true, but it can change size like a dragon. This trident does the same."
"SHINK!"
She thrust forward violently, and the trident, originally a little over a foot long, suddenly enlarged and lengthened, transforming into a nearly three-meter giant.
"In the heat of battle, if your weapon suddenly lengthens, it can definitely turn the tide of the fight. It’s priced at three thousand eight hundred Divine Grace Coins."
Carl shook his head. In his view, this item was less useful than the Blade of the Gale. A suddenly lengthening weapon could only fool the weak. True warriors, with their strong combat reactions, would seldom be caught off-guard by such a trick. Besides, the supposed suddenness was actually not very fast.
"Jellyfish Pearl." Susan picked up a pearl and explained, "This is from inside a Phantom Jellyfish. Grinding it into powder and swallowing it can heal most injuries. Fifty Divine Grace Coins per pearl!"
Lastly, she opened a palm-sized wooden box.
Hmm?
Carl’s eyes shifted slightly. Inside the box, there were meatballs the size of bird’s eggs, with a dark hue and a faint scent of meat.
"Beast Pills," Susan said. "There are many factions in Freedom Port that can make Beast Pills, but our Dragon King Chamber of Commerce produces the highest quality. These Beast Pills are made from Exotic Beast Meat and help Knights in their training. One for three Divine Grace Coins. There’s another kind, made from High-quality Exotic Beast Meat, costing twenty Divine Grace Coins each, but we’re currently out of stock."
Carl leaned forward and, after receiving permission, delicately picked up a Beast Pill to take a closer look.
That’s right! The box of items that Hal, the captain of the Black City guards, carried was indeed the Beast Pills she mentioned. However, the details were somewhat different.
He then asked, "What’s the difference between Beast Pills made from High-quality Exotic Beast Meat and those made from ordinary Exotic Beast Meat?"
"The difference is huge!" Susan laughed. "The effect is completely different. Moreover, High-quality Beast Pills are too potent for ordinary people; not only do they fail to temper the body, but they can also be harmful."
"Hmm..."
"High-quality Beast Pills are darker in color, have a milder taste, and if you taste them carefully, there’s a hint of sweetness," Susan added.
Carl’s eyes flickered. That’s right! The box he held contained High-quality Beast Pills!
Soon, with a smile, Susan saw Carl and his companion off. Then, she signaled someone over with a wave of her hand, and a man immediately came forward.
"Who is he?" Susan asked.
"I haven’t seen him before." The man shook his head. "That little girl’s name is Ayala. She’s a refugee from Black City. Among their group, there’s a young man named Little Nan with the potential to become a Knight."
"Having the potential to become a Knight doesn’t mean he will become one." Susan licked her lips. "Carl... Try to win him over. A genuine Knight is worth some expense."
"Yes." The man replied, "I’ll investigate his background."
"Good." Susan slowly nodded her head.
Hibell knew similarly little about crafting Demonized Items and had even fewer hands-on opportunities. Indeed, even Adolf’s collection of books contained scant information on this topic.
When she heard Carl was looking for information on this subject, Hibell showed great enthusiasm and recommended several books. She said that if Carl made some discoveries, he could discuss them with her, and she would be even more inclined to buy things of value.
A strong curiosity is an essential quality for every Wizard Apprentice.
"Magic Materials: Dragon Descendant Scroll I," "The Influence of the Star Realm on the Material World—Speculations by Second Circle Wizard Grandal," "Exploration of Magical Creatures of the Ferro Empire," "The Life of a Legendary Smith"...
