Chapter 405: 398 "Life" and "Nature
Divine World.
This is a realm completely different from the Human Realm and even the Demon Realm.
For in the Divine World, there is no land, nor is there an ocean; what exists are islands floating in midair, like castles.
Yes, islands.
The Divine World is made up of these Floating Islands, creating wondrous scenery unlike the other two realms.
The Floating Islands drift ceaselessly.
Thus, the location of the islands is constantly changing.
However, if one were to observe closely, they would find that the movement of these islands follows a traceable pattern.
They all orbit around a large, immovable island, much like celestial bodies revolving around the sun, moving in a circular fashion.
Yet, the closer to the central island, the fewer the Floating Islands become, and the ones nearest to it numbering only three, circling like guards or offspring, undulating up and down, a sight quite pleasing to the eye.
At this moment, upon one of those three Floating Islands, Anima appeared.
The Life Goddess, like walking amongst the clouds, strode slowly forward, surveying her surroundings without opening her eyes, and seemingly able to see everything around her.
Before long, Anima arrived at a forest.
It was an exceedingly beautiful forest.
Full of the essence of life, the forest was somewhere Anima would surely cherish.
Regrettably, though Anima is the Life Goddess, she is not the owner of this forest brimming with the breath of life.
The owner of the forest is another Goddess.
In search of this Goddess, Anima ventured deep into the forest and eventually came before a crystal-clear lake.
"Ah, Anima, is that you?"
At that moment, an enchanting voice, like that of a lake sprite, resounded in Anima’s ears.
Anima lifted her head to see the beautiful, clear bottom of the lake and softly spoke,
"Come out, Nadura, I have something I need to discuss with you."
As Anima’s voice just faded, ripples suddenly spread across the lake before her, stirring waves.
Within the waves, the clear water danced gracefully as streams rose abruptly.
The currents intertwined with each other and then gathered into one, forming a beautiful ketone body comprised of water.
In the next second, the ketone body gradually transmuted from water to solid form, becoming a Goddess.
A Goddess with ice-blue hair as fluid as water cascading down to her waist, the epitome of the concept of "beauty," with even her eyes sparkling a clear ice blue, and her ears truly pointed and long like those of an elf, a sight to be cherished.
When the Goddess appeared, the forest, the lake, the atmosphere, and even the heavens and the earth seemed to share in the joy, continuously emitting a sense of delight as they glowed or swayed gently.
Named Nadura, the Goddess emerged as though born from nature itself, or rather as an avatar of nature, gliding over trickling streams to arrive before Anima.
"Greetings, Anima."
Nadura, adorned with an impeccable smile, greeted Anima with a precious courtesy.
"Greetings, Nadura," Anima responded with an inescapable smile, "How many times have I said, you needn’t be so formal with me."
It was an expected response.
After all, the beautiful Goddess standing before her was born alongside Anima, at the pinnacle of the Divine Race, sharing a sisterly closeness and many years of companionship—a fellow sibling and one of the Three Great Goddesses—the Nature Goddess.
For Anima, intimately close to her like a sister, it was natural not to desire such formality.
Yet...
"This isn’t about formality; it’s merely basic politeness."
Nadura’s smile was still flawless, fitting more the image of a perfectly brought up, highly esteemed princess than a Goddess.
Anima had always thought that if Nadura weren’t a Goddess, she would undoubtedly embody the ideal concept of a "Princess."
Poised and polite, beautiful and generous, her every gesture exuded a closeness to nature and an aura of elegance and humility. In both the Divine and Human Worlds, she was always the most popular and beloved Goddess.
Anima often pondered if the lives in the Human Realm could possess Nadura’s noble character, it would probably signify the complete cultivation of life or the racial virtues.
In creating the Human Race, Anima often used this Goddess as a model, and even the Goddess of Fate used her behavioral standards as a guide to lead and grow lives in the Lower Realm.
Sometimes, Anima felt abashed by her counterpart’s elegance and calm generosity, which speaks volumes of the Nature Goddess’s perfect mannerisms and completion.
Just like now, as Nadura invited Anima,
"You don’t come often, would you care for some of the honey tea I’ve recently created?"
With those words, Nadura beckoned with a delicate, smooth hand, and a cup of enticing honey tea was carried by a stream of water from the lake’s direction, flying towards Anima.
"Thank you for your hospitality."
Anima, unable to utter a word of refusal, graciously accepted and began to taste.
Thus, the two of them entered into idle conversation, like two distinguished ladies enjoying afternoon tea, so relaxed, cozy, and pleasant.
If that scene were witnessed by others, they definitely couldn’t help but stop in their tracks, as if beholding breathtaking scenery, reluctant to leave.
In Nadura’s presence, Anima also couldn’t help but become more meticulous with her language, her choice of words turning more poetic, which led Anima to feel helpless about it more than once.
But there was no helping it; anyone in front of the Nature Goddess’s flawlessly impeccable manners would feel that it was necessary not to let their own behavior become too disrespectful, too ugly, lest they come across too vulgar.
This caused Anima to be temporarily unable to dive straight into the main topic, falling into a passive state, following Nadura’s conversations and casually chatting on.
It wasn’t until a long, long time later that Nadura finally smiled satisfactorily after Anima had finished tasting the honey tea she had brewed.
"Do you have something important to discuss with me?"
Nadura finally got to the point.
Anima then tensed her face which, at some point, had relaxed.
"I do have a very important matter I would like to discuss with you."
Anima’s expression was very serious.
"It seems to be a rather significant issue."
Nadura nodded thoughtfully.
Anima understood Nadura well, and how could Nadura not understand Anima?
Just as Anima admired and esteemed Nadura’s dignity, generosity, politeness, and elegance, Nadura also held Anima in high regard.
Standing at the pinnacle of the Divine Race, the Three Great Goddesses each had their own renowned characteristics.
If Nadura was seen as a perfect goddess for her dignified manners, the benchmark of conduct, then Anima was the goddess most like a goddess.
She genuinely loved all life in the world, rejoiced in their growth, and mourned their passing, and thus never saw herself as above others. Instead, she drew close to humans, to the Human Race, to any life, treating them equally, watching over them, and protecting their existence.
Even the Demon Clan would receive a certain level of respect from Anima, as she was the goddess in charge of life, and respect for life was something etched into her very instincts.
If there was anything Anima truly could not tolerate, it was degradation.
That’s why Anima had told Shane that should Goddess Lilith’s return fail, there should be no hesitation to destroy the "True Seal" right away, to prevent the fallen goddess from doing evil and harming worldly beings.
An Anima who became serious and solemn undoubtedly meant that something grave had occurred.
Nadura, thinking this, heard surprising words from Anima.
"Do you think it’s still possible for a hero to emerge in this world?"
Anima asked Nadura this.
"A hero?" Nadura was slightly startled, then with hesitation said, "Could you be talking about the Princess of the Mitra Kingdom, blessed by the Goddess of Fate?"
If a hero was likely to appear in this world, then it could be none other than the Princess.
She was acknowledged by the Holy Sword of Mitra, also possessing an unrivaled talent along with powerful Unique Skills. It was undoubted that she could match a hero in the future.
The Princess was also recognized as a modern hero, and Nadura regarded her highly, thinking she was the most potent and attractive existence in the Human Realm today.
Hence, when discussing a modern hero, Nadura first thought of her.
However, Anima shook her head.
"Luosilusti Mitera indeed qualifies to be called a hero, but she is not the one I am referring to."
Anima hesitated for a moment, then with a determined heart, told Nadura.
"In fact, I met a hero in the Human Realm, a hero summoned from the Otherworld."
With this revelation, Nadura’s eyes widened slightly.
"That’s impossible."
Without a second thought, Nadura spoke these words.
"The Hero Summoning has been sealed, how could there be a hero from the Otherworld?"
Nadura found it hard to believe.
"I know how you feel; at the beginning, I was like you, in complete disbelief," Anima said with a bitter smile, "but it is the truth, Nadura. I witnessed him using the Holy Sword and even assisting in the return of Goddess Lilith. Goddess Lilith even entrusted the ’True Seal’ to him."
Upon hearing this, Nadura frowned slightly and fell silent.
There was nothing she could do.
If it wasn’t Anima who was sharing this, Nadura would absolutely not have believed it.
Not to mention the Holy Sword, even the return of the Evil God Lillith and the entrusting of the "True Seal" sounded like a fantastical dream, hard to believe.
"...Does Lidas know about this?"
Nadura asked tentatively.
"No, I have not yet told her."
Anima shook her head.
"That’s good."
Nadura nodded softly.
