Why must the devil be Defeated? -
Chapter 384 - 380 ’That is my person.
Chapter 384: 380 ’That is my person.
A breath of life not belonging to this world.
The Sealing Ring of the Holy Sword.
A wondrous Blessing.
And an excessively powerful potential and ability.
Anima saw all these signs in Shane, and confirmed that he was definitely a Hero.
But the Hero Summoning had been sealed, and there was no sign that the summoning ritual had been used, so why did such a Hero suddenly appear?
What exactly happened in between?
Because of this shocking discovery, Anima could no longer care about the matters of the Evil God Lilith, and after struggling for a while, she decided to temporarily observe the situation.
But now...
"We can only stop here for now,"
Seeing the shocking surge of Magic Power from the Evil Land, where the Evil Energy and Evil Creatures were becoming even more crazed, and the commotion was intensifying, Anima knew she could no longer stand by.
Standing by any longer would result in the seal of the Evil God Lilith being broken, and the once Hell would descend once again.
So...
"Anyway, we must first reinforce the seal and re-exile the Temple before discussing other matters."
Anima was prepared to act.
Unfortunately...
"Since you’ve already chosen to not intervene, why not continue watching from here, Life Goddess?"
When a childish voice entered Anima’s ears, her body stiffened, and she could no longer move.
The familiar voice, like the Dragon Cries she hadn’t heard in years, directly vibrated Anima’s heart, causing her to swiftly turn her head to look to the side.
"Who!?"
Lasha, of course, had also heard the voice, her face slightly changed, looking toward the source of the voice.
At this sight, Lasha was first startled, then overjoyed.
Because the person who could make her both shocked and happy appeared here at the same time.
"Long time no see, Anima."
These words came from a small girl who suddenly dropped out of the sky.
A petite girl with a pillow in her arms withdrew her Dragon Wings, bringing two beautiful girls, one large and one small, and landed on the top of the building, entering the sight of both Anima and Lasha.
"Lasha!"
Lasha, seeing the Maid brought over by the other, who bore the exact likeness to her own, couldn’t help but express her joy.
"It’s so good to see you safe, Lady."
Lasha, holding Jade’s hand, looked at Lasha standing next to Anima. Although her face remained expressionless, a rare sense of relief appeared in her eyes.
"..."
Jade, on the other hand, looked at Anima as if she knew who she was, remaining typically silent.
While Anima’s gaze naturally fell on the petite girl holding the pillow, speaking in a tone that seemed both shocked and rigid.
"Dragon Demon Ai Yi..."
Who else could it be, if not Ai Yi?
"Why are you here?"
Anima felt somewhat shaken.
In contrast, Ai Yi, looking into Anima’s eyes, appeared completely calm.
"You’ve been observing my person for several days now, and you didn’t realize I was right here?"
Ai Yi looked at Anima, speaking indifferently.
However, this statement was no different from a bolt from the blue for Anima.
"So you’ve been by that Human’s side all along?"
Anima’s words, conveyed to others that she had not noticed Ai Yi’s presence.
That was only natural.
Firstly, over the past few days, Ai Yi had almost been sleeping in her room all the time and had not set foot outside the door once; even the abducted Iris had not seen Ai Yi, how could Anima have noticed her?
Secondly...
"I knew you would come, and I also knew you would target my person, so these past few days I’ve deliberately been suppressing my Life aura and falling into deep sleep."
Ai Yi spoke nonchalantly like that.
"If it were someone else, they might discover my presence through means like the naked eye, but for you, who doesn’t use your eyes to see but instead directly senses the Life aura of all things in the world, this method of hiding is unexpectedly effective, isn’t it?"
Ai Yi’s words left Anima speechless.
Just as Ai Yi had said, as the Life Goddess, she did not use her eyes to see, but sensed, or "saw," the Life aura of all things in the world.
Thanks to this, nearly everything was transparent before Anima; she could easily pierce through any existence, understanding the essence of any life, and not be deceived by illusions.
Iris had obtained this vision from Anima through prayer, which allowed her to glimpse the location and presence of life in the world to some extent. It was because of this power that she was originally able to "see" Shane and the others riding You Lin and rushing towards Cosmos.
But this ability had a weakness.
That was, for beings without a trace of life energy, Anima’s perception would ignore them as easily as most people would ignore a stone on the roadside.
Therefore, Anima had not noticed the presence of Ai Yi, who had concealed his life energy and was in a state resembling suspended animation.
Upon realizing this, Anima fell silent for a long while before sighing and calming down.
"I didn’t expect Lord Ai Yi to come to the Human Realm."
Anima tentatively said so.
"It’s probably because you haven’t paid much attention to the affairs of the Human Realm lately," Ai Yi said noncommittally, "I have been in the Human Realm for some time now. This matter is probably already known across the nations in the Human Realm, and you don’t know about it. That is really dereliction of duty."
"That is a misunderstanding, Lord Ai Yi." Anima replied with a wry smile, "Guiding humans has always been under the jurisdiction of the Goddess of Fate, while the Nature Goddess takes care of the Elf Clan and Dwarf Clan; I am responsible for the Beastman, so it’s true that I am not very aware of recent developments concerning humans."
"Then you have missed quite a few interesting events, Anima," Ai Yi glanced at Anima with a half-smile, "Humans have indeed been involved in quite a few fascinating incidents recently."
"...Really?" Anima’s eyes seemed to narrow slightly as she softly asked, "Is it because of that human called Shane?"
"More or less," Ai Yi neither confirmed nor denied, "Just like you, more and more people are starting to notice him."
"Then, may I ask a question?" Anima lifted her eyelids as if looking directly at Ai Yi, and bluntly asked, "That human is surely the Hero, right?"
"Don’t ask me, I will not answer this question," Ai Yi responded rather coldly, "If possible, I would like to understand what all this is about."
Anima understood what Ai Yi implied.
Simply put, if Shane was really the Hero, then the questions surrounding him should be of concern not to the Divine Race, but to the Demon Clan.
After all, the Hero was the hidden trump card of the Divine Race; issues related to the Hero should truly be comprehended by the Divine Race.
So, if Anima wanted to inquire about the Hero, she shouldn’t be asking Ai Yi, but her own kind.
"... I understand," Anima, after a moment’s silence, then spoke, "However, from your demeanor, it seems you have a significant relation to that human suspected to be the Hero. I am not mistaken, am I?"
It was not a misconception.
After all, Ai Yi had stated it at the beginning.
"He is my person, just understand it literally," Ai Yi said openly to Anima, "which means, currently, I’m the one looking after that fellow."
This statement filled Anima’s mind with countless questions and astonishments.
She wanted to ask, what does "I’m currently the one looking after him" mean?
And, why would that human become a person of the Dragon Demon?
Could it be that the appearance of this Hero was not due to the Divine Clan’s summoning ceremony, but that the Demon Clan had mastered a method for summoning a Hero?
But how could that be possible?
No one but Supreme God Ominis could interfere with the Otherworld.
Not even during the era of the Demon King, when she was still alive, could she meddle with the Otherworld.
The Demon Clan’s strength is manifest in their power but lacks the mysterious authority possessed by the Divine Race.
And within the Divine Race, only Supreme God Ominis possesses true omnipotence to interfere with the Otherworld.
So, what exactly is going on?
What on earth happened?
Anima couldn’t help but feel somewhat confused.
However, more than these questions, Anima was more eager to know what Ai Yi intended to do.
"It is indeed hard to imagine a being like Lord Ai Yi taking interest in a mere human and offering him protection," Anima took a deep breath and asked, "Lord Ai Yi, for what purpose have you appeared here, may I know?"
"How so?" Ai Yi raised her eyebrows slightly, looking at Anima and said, "Are you suspecting that it was me or the Demon Clan who instigated that guy to destroy the seal of the Evil God Lilith?"
Regarding this question, Anima only had one thing to say.
"I sincerely hope that is not the case."
Otherwise, the matter would be truly troublesome.
"Don’t worry, it was that guy’s own decision to do this; I’m just watching from the sidelines and will only lend a hand when necessary,"
Ai Yi stated bluntly.
"A...hand?"
Anima was indeed stunned by this description.
Have the Dragon Demon serve as an enforcer?
In the world, other than the Demon King, who else could pull off such an absurd act?
"In any case, that’s what it is," Ai Yi seemed too lazy to explain much to Anima, and stated simply, "Since it is his decision, I hope you’d better not interfere with him."
At this point, Anima finally understood the purpose of Ai Yi’s presence here.
It was simply to restrain herself from causing trouble.
"...Are you threatening me?"
Anima’s expression was not very pleasant.
"You can think of it that way if you like," Ai Yi snorted coldly and said, "Of course, you can choose not to listen, but if so, when the time comes, I hope you can muster much greater power than you had a thousand years ago."
Anima had no response.
