Chapter 354 - 353 “Slipped, sorry.”

Chapter 354: 353 “Slipped, sorry.”

"Holy Maiden..."!

"Holy Maiden..."!

Oz and Mafi, who had been blasted far away, stared at the Foxman girl lying on the ground, as if stimulated, struggling to rise as if in a resurgence of energy.

The Beastman Priests also broke free from Shane’s imposing aura, rushing toward the position of the Foxman girl.

However, Shane reached the Foxman girl’s side before anyone else.

"Indeed, is she the Holy Maiden of the Beastman Race?"

Shane glanced at the Foxman girl lying on the ground, completely unconscious, and positioned himself in front of all the Beastman Priests.

This act stimulated the Beastman Priests as well.

"[Granting·Fixed]."

Just when the Beastman Priests could not contain their aggression, Shane was still one step ahead, taking action and releasing magic.

"What...!?"

"Uh...!"

"Can’t move...!"

Suddenly, the Beastman Priests found themselves rooted to the spot, their feet firmly locked to the ground, unable to take another step.

Shane then controlled the entire Beastman Priest Group, restraining them with his own power.

Then, Shane turned his head to look at the crystal behind him, which had only a crack left, but otherwise had returned to its original state.

Jade also arrived in front of the crystal, gazing at it, motionless.

Seeing this scene, the Beastman Priests panicked.

"Stop! Don’t touch that Seal again!"

Oz, struggling to rise, also panicked.

Mafi couldn’t help but speak out.

"Please, listen to us...!" Mafi exclaimed in evident distress, "That thing is incredibly dangerous, it must not be released, otherwise this Kingdom and even the entire Human Realm could turn into ’Hell’...!"

———"Hell."

This term sounded so horrifying.

Shane furrowed his brows, his gaze inevitably fell on Jade.

Jade looked back at Shane, her eyes still pleading.

Clearly, Jade hoped that Shane would help her, continue to unseal it.

While the Beastman Priests felt an abnormal fear and dread towards the existence within the Seal, their eyes filled with pleading as they looked at Shane.

Seeing this, Shane somewhat understood the situation.

Undoubtedly, these Beastman Priests were not the villains; they were indeed on the side of justice.

The origins of Jade remained a mystery, but her purpose was singular: to break the Seal here and release whatever was contained within.

And yet, the existence within the Seal seemed extremely dangerous.

Given this, the Beastman Priests stood guard over the Temple, likely with the sole purpose of protecting the Seal and preventing the release of its contents.

"So, have I really become the villain?"

Shane became dejected.

But then, if intending to break the Seal made one a villain, what was Jade’s role?

The mastermind behind the villains?

Was he being used by Jade, the villain?

Shane pondered these thoughts but didn’t take them too seriously.

After all, when he decided to help Jade, he was already prepared to bear all consequences.

He had also considered that opening the Seal here might cause serious trouble, yet he still chose to do so.

Not for anything else, but because Shane felt that Jade might be the biggest victim.

This might merely be an elusive intuition, yet, for some reason, Shane was very sure of this intuition.

(It always feels like, ever since I contacted Supreme God Ominis at the Holy Sanctuary, I keep having these inexplicable intuitions and feelings...)

Shane himself was also baffled.

But still, Shane wished to trust his instincts.

He was certain that what he was doing was right.

Of course, with things as they were, Shane wouldn’t really break the Seal openly in front of these Beastman Priests.

Intuition aside, Shane still needed to unravel this mystery himself.

So, Shane made his decision.

"Let’s stop here for today, Jade," Shane told Jade, "The Seal has already been broken, and this Foxman Saintess has only temporarily repaired the Seal, otherwise, that crack wouldn’t be there."

Once the power maintaining the Seal was exhausted, the crack would expand again, allowing the Seal to break.

"The original firm Seal has been loosened, and breaking it is just a matter of time, there’s no need to rush, let’s go back first."

Shane decided to put this matter on hold and act later.

Jade seemed surprised by Shane’s words, and after a brief pause, she fell silent.

After a while, Jade lifted her eyelids again, looking at Shane and nodded her head.

Seeing this, Shane gave a slight smile and patted her head as a sign of praise.

Seeing Shane like this, the Beastman Priests collectively breathed a sigh of relief.

At least, they didn’t have to worry about the Seal being broken again.

Although, as Shane said, the seal had already begun to loosen, it was now barely maintained by the power of the Holy Maiden, and they were fortunate to have some time to resolve it.

Just as the Beastman Priests were thinking this, what happened next plunged them into sheer panic.

"Hey..."

Shane turned around and suddenly picked up the unconscious Foxman girl.

"What are you doing...!?"

"Put down the Holy Maiden...!"

"Let her go!"

One by one, the Beastman Priests were shocked and shouted angrily, even more furiously than before.

Particularly Oz, fueled by an unknown strength, roared furiously and rushed over.

"Bang!"

Shane kicked without hesitation, sending the approaching Oz flying harshly.

But then Mafi charged over.

"Put the Holy Maiden down!"

Mafi also lost his previous calm and composed demeanor, plunging into rage and charging at Shane.

"Bang!"

With a muffled sound, Shane, treating everyone the same, kicked again, sending Mafi flying back.

Two Beastmen close to Legendary strength appeared so vulnerable and disheveled in Shane’s presence.

"Why be so agitated?" said Shane, his expression unchanging. "I just wanted to borrow the Holy Maiden for a bit, I won’t harm her."

This was the truth.

Shane wasn’t whimsically thinking of doing something cruel. He just felt that the Holy Maiden should know many secrets, and thus wanted to take her away.

Besides, Shane wanted to use the Foxman girl as a hostage to prevent these Beastman Priests from acting rashly.

"Given your high status among the Beastman Race and your special status among the Human Race, if you seek revenge for today’s matter, then I would be in great trouble," Shane said frankly. "So, I’ll take your Holy Maiden... no, I mean, I’ll invite her to be my guest for a while, treat her nicely and then return her to you all."

Saying this, a smile appeared on Shane’s face, as if to suggest he had no bad intentions.

But then Jade tugged at Shane’s sleeve, pointing at one of his hands.

Shane then noticed that one of his hands holding the Foxman girl was, in fact, placed on an indescribable protrusion.

"Cough, cough..." Shane coughed quickly, withdrawing his hand discreetly while calmly adding, "My hand slipped, sorry, I promise I won’t do anything to her, trust me."

These words instantly enraged the Beastman Priests.

"Put down the Holy Maiden!"

"Put the Holy Maiden down immediately!"

"You’re not allowed to take the Holy Maiden!"

"We will not allow it!"

"We’ll fight you!"

Those Beastman Priests struggled furiously as if they were fearless of death.

"Ahhhhhh!"

Oz, unable to contain his anger, jumped up from the ground and charged at Shane again, even faster than before.

This time, Shane didn’t kick the Wolfman Strongman away, but instead freed one hand to hold Jade, disappearing from the spot.

The Wolfman, Oz, lunged at the position where Shane had been just a second earlier, missing him completely.

Shane then appeared with Jade and the unconscious Foxman girl on the already shattered ceiling.

"Wait!" Mafi, realizing the dire situation, quickly said, "We promise not to pursue today’s matter, please return the Holy Maiden to us!"

Seeing that Shane was about to escape, Mafi, disregarding other concerns, chose to compromise readily.

The rest of the Beastman Priests were also anxious. It was clear how important the Foxman girl was to them.

This was a natural thing.

All the Beastman Priests had been chosen from their tribes before the birth of the Holy Maiden, raised to protect her in the future.

Their sole purpose in life was to guard the soon-to-be-born Holy Maiden.

For them, the status of the Holy Maiden was certainly no less than Luoqi’s status in the hearts of the Kingdom People.

Frankly speaking, the Holy Maiden was their only reason for existence, a being they had to protect throughout their lives, no less significant than the Life Goddess worshiped by the Beastman Race.

For the Holy Maiden, risking their lives was merely trivial.

This was no longer just loyalty but a blind, unquestionable faith.

As long as the Holy Maiden commanded, they would execute their own deaths without hesitation or needing a reason.

This was a level of obedience even greater than Magic Lives, which could only obey their master’s commands.

In such a scenario, not even the Temple’s sealing was as important to them as their Holy Maiden, so naturally, the Beastman Priests were in a rush.

But it was precisely for this reason that Shane had acted this way.

"Unfortunately, I don’t trust you much, but you have no choice but to trust me," claimed the Hero, who didn’t want to seem too villainous, laughing as if resembling the Demon King.

"Well, let’s part here, goodbye if fate allows it."

With that, Shane, along with Jade and the unconscious Foxman Saintess, turned into a streak of light and flew towards the horizon.

Leaving only the Beastman Priests behind, stunned, their faces ashen.

"Holy Maiden... Holy Maiden... Holy Maiden ahhhh..."

Oz emitted a desperate roar.

Today, for these Beastmen, was destined to be a nightmare.
