Who let him join the Sword Sect?!
Chapter 99: Treasure Chest Ahead, No Horse in Sight

Chapter 99: Chapter 99: Treasure Chest Ahead, No Horse in Sight

Daxiong followed closely behind Little Fuji, mumbling under his breath as they walked out of the cave.

He was slightly better than Chen Jiu; though he admitted it verbally, he was not truly convinced in his heart.

He believed that resorting to the Heaven-shaking Thunder when in doubt was a perfectly normal operation, a perfect blend of the Man Family’s experience and the wisdom of the Human Race.

It was such a wonderful thing to be prohibited here, what a pity.

Moreover, Daxiong was most displeased with the unreasonable set-up of this stage.

Who would expect a box with a mouth in it that could be so ferocious?

If he hadn’t been careless, how could he have fallen into the trap of that so-called Treasure Chest Monster and ended the exploration prematurely?

Daxiong was about to say something harsh to warn Fuji not to be alone in the future.

But he suddenly realized that this Great Demon in front of him indeed seemed incapable of being alone.

Just when he was playing with thunder, he saw with his own eyes that this Great Demon named Fuji had split herself in two.

The smaller one gave him a punch, while the bigger one enveloped the Heaven-shaking Thunder, so the thunder only made a sound without causing harm.

With a black eye, Daxiong sighed and honestly followed behind Fuji, ending this Underground City experience.

While walking back to the fork, he happened to meet his good brother Hong Sen.

Zhang Ze didn’t follow them out; he was tidying up the chamber.

Daxiong chuckled and patted Hong Sen on the shoulder.

Hong Sen was not bothered by Daxiong’s behavior of selling him out earlier, after all, it was something they had agreed upon before coming in.

The two of them, wanting to go further, had agreed before entering that if they encountered a stage they couldn’t defeat, the weaker Hong Sen would cover the rear, while Daxiong would continue pushing through.

Seeing Hong Sen, Daxiong suddenly came up with a sly idea.

"Miss Fuji, I’d like to have a word with my friend."

"Hmm, but don’t take too long," Little Fuji nodded, waiting for Daxiong ahead.

"Hong Sen, lend me your Fluorescent Ointment," Daxiong sound transmitted to Hong Sen.

Hong Sen didn’t know what Daxiong wanted to do, but he handed the item over to Daxiong.

Daxiong, turning his back to Fuji and blocking her line of sight with his body, began to write on the wall with his finger as a pen.

"Right side, there’s a Treasure Chest ahead!"

Hong Sen was momentarily stunned by Daxiong’s actions, but then quickly caught on and added a note below.

"Left side, dead end."

After writing this false information, the two troublemakers felt elated, their pent-up frustrations cleared away.

They returned to their giggling state and followed behind Fuji, leaving the Underground City.

After the two left, Zhang Ze came out from the chamber. When he reached the fork, he was momentarily stunned by the writing on the wall.

He didn’t expect those two to have grasped the essence of the Underground City’s gameplay so quickly.

"Those two troublemakers are real geniuses," Zhang Ze sighed.

He thought for a moment, since the situation had come to this, why not continue along this crooked path?

In a place a bit further from the two, Zhang Ze also began to carve words on the wall with his finger as a pen.

"Liars ahead."

"But the left side is important."

After finishing the inscription, Zhang Ze dusted off his hands and felt that he had done a good deed.

After all, what he wrote were the truths.

Outside the Underground City, Daxiong and Hong Sen walked out feeling triumphant.

Though inside they were just like minions, outside it was a different story.

Hong Sen nabbed a rare Zhang purple card, and Daxiong had the highest clearance progress to date.

Now the two were dominating the leaderboards.

Hong Sen and Daxiong refused all compliments and probes, planning to first pay the fines and then find a quiet place to study how to maximize the benefits of this purple card.

Passing by Lin Feng and the others, Daxiong shot them a malicious look.

After the ordeal in the Underground City, Daxiong had realized its value and decided that as soon as those three ranked behind him, he would retaliate against them in advance.

There were still a few people ahead of Lin Feng and others, but they all had first-round performances, coming out of the Teleportation Array in less than ten minutes with their tails between their legs.

The cultivator responsible for verifying identities didn’t even bother announcing those unlucky team names anymore, directly calling the names instead.

"Wang Lin, Li Feiyu, Bai Xiaochun."

"Here, here!" Bai Xiaochun waved, indicating they had heard.

As Bai Xiaochun, Wang Lin, and the others approached the Teleportation Array’s entrance, an idea suddenly hit Bai Xiaochun.

"Brother Lin, how about joining together?"

Before Lin Feng could decline, Wang Ma had already cheerfully agreed, "Sure, sure."

Li Feiyu looked questioningly at the Thousand Mechanism Cultivator responsible for verifying identities.

The cultivator scratched his head, "Our Underground City is quite big; as long as you think you can handle it, it’s fine."

Hearing the Thousand Mechanism Cultivator’s reply, Wang Ma stretched leisurely, "I’ve gotten tired of waiting outside, let’s go." With that, he also stepped onto the Teleportation Array.

Lin Feng and Li Jue followed reluctantly.

Over in the Thousand Mechanism Pavilion’s monitoring room, Lily glanced at the Transmission Box and happened to see Wang Lin and the others appearing in the Underground City.

Lily hurriedly removed the sticky notes from her face and nudged Li Yueqi, who was already somewhat lost due to losing.

"Quick, stop playing, they’ve entered the Underground City."

"Huh?" Li Yueqi responded after a moment, regaining her senses, "Yes, business is important."

With that, she removed the sticky notes from her face, donned a mask, and left the room using an Escape Technique.

Meanwhile, Mei’Er and Sword Spirit Senior were long gone.

Chen Qin, deeply engrossed in a card game, looked at Lily, "One more round."

Lily jumped up, "Next time for sure, I’ve got things to do!"

"What business do you have?" Chen Qin asked suspiciously, "Don’t you avoid going into the Underground City?"

Lily’s brain raced, and she truly came up with a reason.

"I’m going to be the... bloodthirsty spectator. Yes, I’m leaving first."

Watching Lily’s fleeing silhouette, Chen Qin turned her gaze back to the small Fuji who had been spectating.

The little creature immediately burrowed into the ground, "I don’t play, I can’t learn!"

In the now-empty room, Chen Qin felt slightly bored and started to organize the cards.

"I’ll go find Hei Qu and Qinghe to play with."

...

In the Underground City, the six people emerged from the entrance’s Teleportation Array.

Li Feiyu took a sharp breath; before, hearing it from others didn’t have the same impact, but entering the Underground City now, he realized it was indeed perilous.

The cave was pitch dark in the distance, with only sporadic fungi clinging to the stone walls and emitting a faint glow.

To their right was a bottomless Mirror Lake, with toxic mists swirling in the distance.

Ahead of them were six stone caves of varying sizes, bottomless, seemingly with fierce beasts lurking.

Aside from the troupe’s breathing and the mysterious dripping sound, the cave was silent.

The atmosphere was intense.

The paths in Gourd Cave varied depending on the number of entrants.

Because there were many in Lin Feng’s group, the Thousand Mechanism Cultivator thoughtfully selected the hardest route for them.

"Which way?" Li Ju asked.

"Whatever, maybe one path for each?" Wang Ma was unconcerned; he truly just came to have fun.

"That’s not safe." Li Feiyu thought it would be safer for everyone to stay together.

Wang Lin and Lin Feng didn’t express any opinion, but Bai Xiaochun made the decision for everyone.

"Let me calculate."

The group thought he was going to take out some road-exploring Magical Artifact and said no more, waiting for Bai Xiaochun to cast a spell.

Under everyone’s gaze, Bai Xiaochun pulled a Turtle Patterned Pot from his Storage Bag and placed it right-side up.

Then, with a flick of his hand, he spun the pot.

When the pot stopped, Bai Xiaochun pointed in the direction of the largest crack.

"Go for the middle!"

Everyone, "..."
