Chapter 511: Oops, Wrong Person!

"Of course, I am! Why wouldn’t I?" Jin Jiuchi flashed a sharp grin in response.

After eliminating all the disturbances around him, he indeed felt refreshed all over and the odd delight bubbled in his chest once more, making his body feel extremely light and his nerves alight with excitement. He was so fired up that he could sprint around the whole forest twice! Buzzing in impatience, he could no longer stand still and was eager to move his body. "Where’s Xinxin? Is he missing?! Xinxin, we need to search for Xinxin— hahaha!"

"Wait—"

Shen Nianzu only had the chance to blurt out that one word before Jin Jiuchi suddenly broke into a run like a mad horse out of its leash, leaping and jumping across the thick vines slithering on the ground! He was so fast that Shen Nianzu nearly bit his tongue and choked on his saliva. The biting wind harshly slapped his face, forcing him to bury his head on Jin Jiuchi’s shoulder for shelter.

"You... damned... husky!" he gritted out in anger.

"Ya-hoo!!" Kicking off the ground, Jin Jiuchi leaped a few meters high, an exhilarated and almost manic grin spreading across his face. "Ain’t this fun, Nian’er?!"

Fun, my ass! Shen Nianzu cursed inside his heart. He tried to raise his head to survey the surroundings, but with the speed Jin Jiuchi was going, the scenery around them rapidly dissolved into a blur of crimson, making him so dizzy that he nearly retched. He was left with no other option but to cling onto the man for dear life. Heavens, this was worse than riding the world’s most dangerous rollercoaster!

Nevertheless, Jin Jiuchi still had the gall to inquire, "Nian’er, where is Xinxin? Did you spot him?! Xinxin— is that you?!"

Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a player being surrounded by two skeletons, seemingly having some trouble fending them off, and without waiting for a response from Shen Nianzu, he immediately zoomed in that direction, delivered a spinning kick that sent the skeletons tumbling to the ground before yanking the player closer to him by the collar.

"Xinxin??" Jin Jiuchi thrust his face directly in front of the other person, his eyes squinting in an attempt to identify them. But honestly he could not tell at all since the player before him did not even look remotely human. He could only guess they were a player because they appeared like a green slime in his eyes, just like his Nian’er. Growing impatient with the lack of response, Jin Jiuchi followed his instincts and bent down to sniff the other person’s neck.

It was too late by the time Shen Nianzu wanted to stop him.

Still struggling to catch his breath, Shen Nianzu exerted every ounce of strength he had left in him to yank Jin Jiuchi’s hair, forcing him to raise his head. His tone was livid as he roared into Jin Jiuchi’s ear, "You’ve got the wrong person, dumbass!!!"

At the same time, Gu Luoxin’s holler echoed faintly from the opposite direction, "Xiao Shen, Da Shen, where are you?!!"

"Oops, wrong person!" Jin Jiuchi unceremoniously released his grip and, without sparing the other person another glance, turned to dash in the direction of Gu Luoxin’s voice, "Wait for me, I’m coming~~ hahaha!!"

Left behind, Shang landed on his butt, his eyes still reflected the shock he was feeling. He stared at Jin Jiuchi’s back which swiftly vanished from view, unable to react for a moment. W–What was that just now? He was simply minding his own business when all of a sudden, this person rushed out of nowhere and charged straight toward him, knocking down two nightmare creatures with a single, clean move. Then he left as abruptly as he came, just like a whirlwind.

Shang recognized him – the high profile player who was the first to play the game at the tea party.

The other person’s careless and decisive demeanor as he shoved the entire cake into his mouth, not knowing whether it contained the Mad Hatter’s concoction or not, had left quite a deep impression on him. But it wasn’t until he saw the man up-close that Shang realized how special he was.

Those heterochromatic eyes did not seem like what an ordinary human should possess. They were savage, ferocious, yet at the same time, breathtakingly clear and... beautiful. Just like a proud, exotic animal that belonged to the wild.

It made one want to conquer... tame... and put a collar on him.

Shang’s eyes narrowed with intrigue. Who exactly was that player?

Meanwhile, Jin Jiuchi, who had no idea that he had caught the interest of a cunning player due to one wrong move, finally reunited with his teammate.

As it turned out, Gu Luoxin had indeed been caught in some trouble. The presence of the huge cyan kingkong made it an easy target, and its muscular arms were currently ensnared by numerous thorny vines.

Gu Luoxin himself was fighting against a frenzied skeleton, who scared him so much that he was nearly reduced to tears. He dared not summon Toki out of fear that the flames would damage the whole area, thus he could only attempt to break free with brute force while praying desperately for his teammates to show up.

When he finally caught sight of Jin Jiuchi and Shen Nianzu, he nearly burst out in tears out of sheer relief, "Da Shen, Xiao Shen, you guys are here!"

With the duo’s presence, Gu Luoxin felt his burden lighten significantly and he could finally summon his kingkong back. "I’m so sorry for delaying our journey!" He apologized earnestly, wiping the sweat from his forehead. "They surrounded me and I couldn’t slip away without causing real damage to the forest. The skeletons are like zombies— they just won’t die no matter how many times I hit them! Shall we escape now, Xiao Shen?!" He turned to the leader for guidance, but Shen Nianzu’s countenance was grim and heavy as he shook his head firmly.

"No, we can’t escape for now."

"What? Why?!" Gu Luoxin exclaimed, his shock and confusion plain in his wide eyes.

"The elimination game hasn’t ended yet." Shen Nianzu proceeded to tell him briefly about the barrier and the simplest way they could break it, causing Gu Luoxin’s jaws to hang open with horror.

"T–Then, we—" he stuttered out, but then he was interrupted by a cry of help nearby.

"Help... please help me!"

Shen Nianzu’s brows furrowed as he immediately recognized who that voice belonged to.
