Chapter 475: Just Communicate!

Deep lines formed between Noir’s brows as soon as Lucius translated the brown mouse’s words to him. He opened his mouth to speak, but Gu Luoxin, who had an inkling on what he wanted to say, interjected swiftly,

"I may not be as powerful as you are ciit, but I am still a top 50 player in the whole country. Besides, this is my advancement test, so I’m certain I have to face this alone ciit!" He put on the most convincing expression he could – even though it might not make a difference on his mousy face – when in fact he was a nervous wreck inside.

H–He had truly done this— he cut off Noir before the man could speak and clashed head-on with him ahhh!

Gu Luoxin knew that despite Noir’s nonchalant demeanor, he was truly kind deep down and he couldn’t bear to leave Gu Luoxin, this hapless and scaredy-cat player, alone in the face of such imminent danger, but Gu Luoxin had his mind set! No matter how daunting the challenge ahead of him was, he’d rather confront it alone than to drag Noir down with him!

"Senior, please believe me this once ciit!" He pleaded earnestly. "I– I want to show you that I can achieve something without relying on my teammates!"

Noir pursed his lips tightly, but before he could speak, another earthquake rocked the ground they were standing on. The Queen’s presence loomed, now large enough to break free from the confines of the ballroom, leaving a trail of destruction in her wake.

"There’s no time ciit!" Gu Luoxin exclaimed in a haste. "We have to hurry. Please put me down, Senior, or I will jump down myself!"

With a resigned sigh, Noir crouched down and gently set him down to the ground, prompting a sigh of relief from Gu Luoxin. "I will be back soon ciit," he assured Noir before turning to Lumina and Caen. "Come on, we must not delay anymore!"

They nodded, and the trio pressed forward with determination.

As soon as they left the safety of Noir’s protective barrier, their presence was immediately detected by the Queen, who roared in fury. "How dare you—!" Her voice thundered through the air like the toll of a mighty gong, sending everyone’s mind reeling in shock. "You’ve reduced me to such a pathetic state and now... you’re here to stop me again?!"

"You’re wrong!" Lumina cried out desperately. "I never wished for things to end up like this!"

"My dear wife!" Caen’s voice cracked with sorrow. "It’s my fault for not explaining myself properly, for letting you believe false truths. Please, grant me another chance to make amends ciit!"

But alas, how could the Queen, whose heart had long been corrupted, be moved by such empty words?

"Scram!" She hissed sharply, the dark shadows swirling and twisting around her as though resonating with her agony. "I don’t want to hear another word from you. Just leave... get away from me!!"

Along with her wrathful cry, a deluge of malicious shadows descended upon them, resembling a colossal and poisonous serpent poised to attack. Under its looming presence, the two mice and little fairy looked extremely small and vulnerable in comparison. Lumina’s breath caught in her throat as she instinctively attempted to conjure a protective spell, only to realize with despair that her magic had been depleted from shielding the mice earlier.

As she watched the fierce shadows approached, tears welled up in her eyes. Was this it? Were they going to die before they could save the Queen?

But then, in the next moment, a truly extraordinary and unbelievable scene unfolded before her eyes, causing her jaws to drop open in shock.

Just as the oppressive shadows threatened to envelop them, a massive furry hand intercepted their descent, halting their advance. Lumina was almost bedazzled as she beheld the largest creature with the most striking color she had ever seen.

T–That was...

With a resounding roar, the cyan kingkong threw off the shadows and pounded its chest, standing eye-to-eye with the Queen. On top of its head was a small brown mouse, who was clinging to its fur with a death grip.

"I’ve always hated it when misunderstanding arcs dragged out for countless Chapters..." Gu Luoxin’s voice echoed through the chaos, "That’s why you need to calm down and resolve this amongst yourselves ciit!!"

"ROAR—!"

The cyan kingkong swung its giant fist, clenched tightly around two colorful candies – one pink, one red. They held within them all the emotions and sentiments that couldn’t be conveyed in mere words. With unparalleled ferocity, the kingkong’s fist collided with the swirling shadows, and the candies were propelled deep within the darkness, disintegrating upon contact with the Queen’s form!

"Oh, I’m so thrilled that she’s finally escaped her oppressive household and horrible family. This time, she will find happiness in the palace, won’t she?"

"I’m worried that her stepmother and stepsister will continue to cause trouble for her, so I need to give her the strongest shield! And who’s more suitable for it than the Prince himself?"

"Beautiful dresses, delicious food, a loving husband and an adorable son – they were the perfect recipe for a lady’s happiness... or so I thought. But why... why does she still look so sad sometimes?"

"I can’t guess what’s on her mind because she never truly opens up to me."

"I just want her to find true happiness this time..."

.

.

"I’m blessed to have married the most stunning woman I’ve ever seen, and the first lady who captured my heart. With her by my side, my life is now complete— I couldn’t ask for more!"

"She and our child, they mean everything to me."

"I admire her courage to stand up against those troublesome nobles, but sometimes I wish she would lean on me more. Is it selfish of me to think so?

"Please... please talk to me. Don’t hide and cry alone anymore..."

"How do I tell her that I will always have her back, no matter what?"

"That damned woman... how dare she! Spiking my drink, climbing to my bed, and pretending to be my wife... Even though nothing happened in the end, I still feel guilty for hiding this matter from her. But I can’t bear to see her suffer anymore than this..."

"Why do we keep growing apart? Have I done something wrong? My beloved wife, please... I beg you... don’t shoulder everything alone."

.

.

"W–What is this?!" The Queen demanded in a shrill voice, her shadowy form quivering violently. "What kind of illusion are you showing me this time?!"

In stark contrast to the malevolent shadows which exuded nothing but malice and ill-intent, the memories revealed by the candies were filled with warmth, tender affection, and bittersweet ache, like the first bashful ray of warm sunshine that shone on the snowy ground. They showed the moments of unwavering support that the Queen has failed to recognize amidst her own turmoil.

Never once had she been abandoned, but because she was too focused on her own suffering, she failed to take notice of the people who cared about her.

The truth was finally revealed, and this time Gu Luoxin bawled so hard that his entire face was drenched with tears. He confronted the Queen before him with raw intensity, "Do you see it now ciit?! This is the truth you’ve been blind to! You’re the one who shut yourself off from them, pushing them further away from you..." he gritted out. "Just once... have you even told them what you wanted even once? They’re not mind readers, they wouldn’t be able to guess what’s running in your mind. That’s why... JUST COMMUNICATE, DAMN IT!!"

The tiny brown mouse exploded in anger, "Arghh, this is so annoying ciit! I hate misunderstanding the most!!!"
