When the Wild Beast is Trapped in the Nightmare Cycle (BL) -
Chapter 200: Crash The Wedding
Chapter 200: Crash The Wedding
Half an hour ago.
Before Ariel’s mating ritual started, Shen Nianzu was invited away to the building where he could have the best view, whereas Jin Jiuchi, Noir and Gu Luoxin were led towards the viewing platform near the seabed.
However, halfway through the journey, Jin Jiuchi, who had been strangely silent since the lunch banquet, suddenly took action and knocked the guard escorting them unconscious! He moved so fast that none of them managed to react. By the time Gu Luoxin and Noir realized what was going on, Jin Jiuchi had already tossed the poor merman down the water canal.
"D–Da Shen?!" Gu Luoxin exclaimed in horror. "What are you doing?! Don’t tell me... do you want to rebel?!" Unless his brain was broken, he remembered that Shen Nianzu had just warned them minutes ago not to cause any trouble!
Jin Jiuchi scoffed in disdain. "Rebel? No. Why should I do that?"
Gu Luoxin gaped at him blankly, "Then you..."
A sinister yet mischievous grin spread across Jin Jiuchi’s face, sending a burst of shivers down Gu Luoxin’s spine. "I just want to... crash the wedding."
Jin Jiuchi had already made up his mind, and not even the Heavenly Emperor could deter him. Between the three of them, Noir was the first to support the plan because he’d had enough of staying below the sea. Alas, what could Gu Luoxin do in the face of these two Great Gods? No matter how reluctant he was, he could only follow suit.
He only realized something was off when Jin Jiuchi pulled out the ship they had prepared as a last resort in case of emergencies in the sea. Gu Luoxin quickly tried to stop him, "W–Wait, wait a moment! Why are you taking this out?! Does Xiao Shen know what you’re planning to do?!"
This was one of the perks of being official teammates. Inside the Cycle, they shared a common storage space for their props, except for those which belonged only to themselves. In this storage, Shen Nianzu had placed essential items like underwater breathing pills, flashlights, ropes, the ship, and other useful tools necessary for challenging the Cycle. This feature was designed so that in the event where one member perished, the other teammates would still have access to the props to aid their survival. But in Jin Jiuchi’s hands, this supposedly useful feature became his ground for misusing crucial props as he pleased!
Jin Jiuchi gave him a look as if he was a mentally disabled child as he swiftly retrieved his jackal headpiece, "How can I crash his wedding if he knows my plan beforehand?"
Gu Luoxin: "..." Fair enough.
Jin Jiuchi put on the headpiece and for some reason, Gu Luoxin seemed to catch a golden glint from where the jackal’s eyes were, as if the prop itself had come alive. He rubbed the goosebumps on his arms, shivering. "C–Can we really do this?" When he thought of Shen Nianzu’s furious expression later, he had the urge to cry.
With one powerful jump, Jin Jiuchi leapt onto the bow and gazed into the distance. Bathed in the orange sunset glow, his blurred silhouette made it look as if he was going to merge with the sky. Gu Luoxin was dazed by this mesmerizing scene, so much that he flinched in shock when Jin Jiuchi suddenly called out to him, "Xinxin."
"Y–Yes?!" He squeaked out, his heart racing. W–Why did Da Shen sound so serious all of a sudden?! Gu Luoxin became inexplicably tense, thinking that Jin Jiuchi was going to hand him an important task, but then he heard the man ask,
"Can two guys get on with each other?"
...What?
Gu Luoxin dug into his ears and seriously suspected that the seawater must have ruined his hearing. "Sorry, what did you just..."
Jin Jiuchi tilted his head sideways and repeated again, his tone solemn, "I’m asking, can two guys get on with each other?"
Gu Luoxin’s jaws fell open. Where did this sudden question come from?! Alas, Jin Jiuchi acted so serious that he could not even crack a joke about it. He had a feeling that if he dared to give a perfunctory answer, Jin Jiuchi was going to toss him down to the sea to feed the sharks. He swallowed and replied gingerly, "I–I don’t discriminate against them at all, but you know that our country—"
"So can they?" Jin Jiuchi cut him off impatiently. "Yes or no?!"
"Of course they can!" Gu Luoxin, who had hidden a stack of BL manhwas under his bed, blurted out loudly with crimson cheeks. "Love knows no gender boundaries, so nothing is wrong with two guys being together! If... If you want, I can lend you some material after this?!" His voice even echoed through the space for a long time, causing Noir to glance at him with mild amusement. Gu Luoxin became so awkward that he did not know where to put his hands or feet, but Jin Jiuchi seemed extremely satisfied with the answer.
"Okay, I will take your words for it!" He laughed out loud, carefree and light, as if he had been waiting for this answer for a long, long time. Grabbing onto the wheel, he exclaimed excitedly, "Let’s go and crash Nian’er wedding!"
And so, they found themselves in their current predicament.
Out of all the plans, Jin Jiuchi chose to... disguise himself as the Flying Dutchman?!
Noir, who was lying lazily on the side with half of his body hanging outside the ship, raised his head and asked, "Flying Dutchman?"
Gu Luoxin covered his burning face with both of his hands. "It’s the ghost pirate from SpongeBob Squarepants..."
On the bow of the ship, Jin Jiuchi crossed his arms and gazed down at the stupefied merfolk below, his eyes narrowing as he locked onto the pale-faced Ariel. Impatience and irritation surged in his chest. "Still not giving them to me?!" He bellowed. "Could it be that you are not afraid of my prowess? Then behold this. Come out, my soldiers!"
With a wave of his hand, the space beside him was torn apart as if sliced by a knife, and from the darkness emerged several colossal figures covered in bandages from head to toe. They were unnaturally thin, with disjointed joints, and wielded sinister curved blades that emitted an eerie aura. Standing behind Jin Jiuchi, they looked like an army from the depths of hell!
Jin Jiuchi threw his head back and laughed, loud and sinister. "How about now?! Have you seen what I’m capable of?!" As if the sky was a paid actor, another bolt of thunder lit up the scene, highlighting the gloomy nightmare creatures and the villainous sneer on the corner of Jin Jiuchi’s lips. Dark clouds rolled ferociously, and light drizzle started to fall.
Inside the City of Atlantis, chaos ensued.
"W–What are those creatures?! What do they want from us?!" These kinds of inquiries came from merfolk who could not understand human language. Meanwhile, the head guard’s face darkened as he swam towards the King and declared with urgency, "Your Majesty, we must not let them take either the Princess or Mr. Nian away! Please give me the order and I will fight them back!"
The King clenched his jaws and responded, "How are you going to do that? We are in the ocean, while they’re up in the sky."
The head guard was stumped by that question, "T–This..."
"Wait," the King ordered, gazing at the ferocious otherworldly soldiers above the sea with a glum look. "We will act once they lose their patience and come down by themselves. By then, the Goddess of the Sea will surely protect us."
"But what about the curse?!" The head guard was flustered. "That monster – the Flying Dutchman – said that he is going to curse us, and we have given our one and only witch’s bane to Mr. Nian! Pardon me, Your Majesty, but how can such a coincidence be possible? The Flying Dutchman looks like a man from hell, he must be here because... because we have lost the blessing of the Goddess!"
"Nonsense!" The King bellowed, his face livid in anger. "We haven’t lost... our clan has not fallen yet!"
Meanwhile, the ’man from hell’ Jin Jiuchi they were talking about was secretly panicking inside. "Why aren’t they handing Nian’er to us? Why do they keep stalling?! Am I not scary enough?!"
Gu Luoxin was rendered speechless. "...Da Shen, didn’t you consider this before? How could they just hand their heir over to us so easily? Moreover..." he trembled and shrank in on himself. "What about Xiao Shen? Is he angry? He must be angry, right?"
"Oh." Jin Jiuchi carelessly shifted his gaze to the building a few distances away and saw Shen Nianzu rolling up his sleeves, pointing at him while spouting profanities silently. He must not dare to curse out loud because he was afraid of being associated with Jin Jiuchi and exposing their identities. Look, even now, Nian’er was still supporting him! Jin Jiuchi grinned and waved at him, making Shen Nianzu so angry that his blood pressure skyrocketed. "Seems like it’s no problem."
Gu Luoxin was skeptical but hopeful at the same time. "R–Really?"
As time passed and there was still no news from below, Jin Jiuchi’s quickly patience ran thin. "What takes them so long?!" Enraged, he ordered the horde of mummy soldiers, "Hey, you guys! Go down and scare them a little— woah woah woah!" Jin Jiuchi suddenly threw himself to the body of the ship to look down, seemingly shocked by something.
His sudden reaction intrigued Gu Luoxin and he also poked his head out to peer down at the sea. "W–What is it? What’s happening?!" Alas, because his vision was not as good as Jin Jiuchi, he could not see what was happening beyond the surface.
Beside him, Noir straightened up, his gaze alert. "The cursed ones. They’re here."
