"Da Shen, you—" Shen Nianzu began, only to be cut off by Lily, who was staring at Jin Jiuchi with eyes full of interest and admiration.

"Oh hello, handsome," she immediately dropped her battle with Shen Nianzu in lieu of batting her lashes at Jin Jiuchi. "Why haven’t I seen you around before? Are you one of Nian’s teammates? Perfect, let’s get to know each other too, shall we?"

Alas, he had not even taken any action yet when Jin Jiuchi beat him to it. "Don’t talk to me, you stinky hag," he glared daggers at Lily and showed an offensively repulsive look. "Do you think I didn’t see it when you tried to harm Nian’er earlier?"

Shen Nianzu: "..." This was the black-eyed Jin Jiuchi speaking, wasn’t it? He knew that the usual Jin Jiuchi would not be so rude and brazen. However, those words managed to soothe the bubbling restlessness in his heart, and a tiny smile subtly formed on his lips.

Shen Nianzu’s feelings were extremely complicated when he looked into Jin Jiuchi’s eyes. The last time he saw these eyes was at Shishen Apartment, when Jin Jiuchi decided to go back to rescue the NPCs. He reckoned that there must be some kind of trigger that resulted in this ’equilibrium’.
