Chapter 164: [Bonus Chapter]Into The Water
Shen Nianzu’s breathing ceased to an abrupt halt as all of his attention was centered on the fiery and solid warmth pressing against his back, where he could feel every curve and ridge of Jin Jiuchi’s alluring body. The high temperature seemed to seep into his bloodstreams and melt his brain into paste, rendering him unable to think of anything.
"Nian’er?" Jin Jiuchi’s chest rumbled along with each word he spoke, and the sensation traveled through Shen Nianzu’s back akin to an electric jolt. Not only that, he could also feel the brush of Jin Jiuchi’s lips against his ear, his tone laced in amusement. "Hello, Earth to Nian’er~"
Jin Jiuchi made a move to grab his waist, and that was when Shen Nianzu snapped out of his trance. In that split suspended second, he did the only thing that came to mind— raising his leg and stomping on Jin Jiuchi’s foot with all of his strength!
"Ow ow ow!" Jin Jiuchi staggered backward and hopped in place while clutching his foot. He cried out, aggrieved, "Nian’er, how can you be so cruel?!"
Shen Nianzu dragged in a shuddering inhale and shot the man with the fiercest glare he could muster, "Nobody is even paying attention to us. Deal with your own issues." With that, he turned away, huffed with annoyance, and strode out of the changing room.
Seeing that the jade doll was quickly disappearing from sight, Jin Jiuchi immediately dropped his pitiful act and chased after him with his long legs, "Nian’er, wait for me!"
"Nian’er, Nian’er, don’t get angry, okay?" Jin Jiuchi tried to coax the furious jade doll as they crossed the upper deck, unaware that a gaze was lingering briefly on them. It belonged to none other than Scarred Man who was together with Lily last night. He did not stay any longer on the deck and instead, turned away and disappeared into the crowd.
Meanwhile, Shen Nianzu and Jin Jiuchi finally got to where the two others had been waiting for them. Looking at Shen Nianzu’s furious look and Jin Jiuchi’s fawning smile, Gu Luoxin had no idea whether to laugh or cry. "Da Shen, what did you do to upset Xiao Shen again?"
Jin Jiuchi pouted slightly at the question. "I was just praising him—"
"Ahem!" Shen Nianzu cleared his throat loudly and gestured towards the professional guide who was ready to assist them with the equipment.
The guide offered a polite smile at Jin Jiuchi, "Please allow me to help you, Sir."
As expected, Jin Jiuchi immediately forgot what he was talking about just seconds ago. His silver eyes lit up and he bounded towards the man cheerfully. "Okay, okay, help me please!" He was practically buzzing in excitement when the trainer strapped the oxygen tank, device, regulator, mask, foot fins and other important equipment on him. Beside him, Shen Nianzu was also assisted by another guide.
"Are you ready?!" The guide in front called out loudly, earning him a loud cheer from the crowd.
Jin Jiuchi turned to look at Shen Nianzu through his mask and reached out to intertwine their fingers together. This time, Shen Nianzu did not push him away.
In the next moment, Jin Jiuchi leaped off the diving board, plunging into the water with Shen Nianzu right beside him. It took a moment for him to adjust to the underwater environment, and when he did, he couldn’t help but feel his breath catch in his throat. S–So many small fishes! Everywhere was blue and sparkling! So breathtaking! He tried to convey his excitement to Shen Nianzu, but all that came out of his mouthpiece were a series of bubbles.
Shen Nianzu slapped him on his arm, and even through the thick mask, Jin Jiuchi could see the man glaring at him, warning him to behave. His lips couldn’t help but curve upwards.
Dazzling rays of sunlight pierced through the water, creating distorted beams that fell on Shen Nianzu’s face and hair, making him look like he was shrouded in a radiant halo. Even with the prop concealing his striking hair and eye color, he still looked the brightest in Jin Jiuchi’s eyes. Perhaps it was just a figment of his imagination but he felt like... Shen Nianzu was perfectly suited for the sea. On him, the foot fins were akin to the extension of his legs, as if he was truly born with a tail to swim underwater.
Jin Jiuchi’s thought was further consolidated when Shen Nianzu swam deeper into the sea, his lithe body undulating gracefully like that of a fish. Seeing that Jin Jiuchi was still rooted in place, he kicked his legs, swam back and dragged the daydreaming husky with him.
While the other NPCs remained closer to the surface, marveling at the fishes and dolphins, only Jin Jiuchi and Shen Nianzu ventured deeper towards the bottom of the ship. At some point of time, their fingers interlaced with each other in a sense of unspeakable intimacy.
They remained at a distance where the propeller could not reach them and peered at the ship’s underside. But much to their disappointment, they found nothing there, as everything was as normal as they could be.
Shen Nianzu gave a signal to go up to the surface, but all of a sudden, Jin Jiuchi let go of his hand and kicked his legs, propelling himself forward. Shen Nianzu’s eyes widened in shock. W–What did this man want to do?!
Reacting quickly, he caught hold of Jin Jiuchi’s arm and tried to convey his anger through his eyes, but Jin Jiuchi merely raised a hand and silently told him to wait. Somehow, the sight of those firm silver eyes made him falter, and as soon as his grip loosened, Jin Jiuchi swam away, closer to the ship.
Shen Nianzu felt his heart rising to his throat when he saw how close Jin Jiuchi’s body was to the spinning blades. T–This was insane. If he got caught, then his body would be shredded to pieces and all that was left of him would only be bloody remnants for the predators in the sea! Shen Nianzu anxiously counted each second, his gaze fixed on Jin Jiuchi’s movement. He watched as the man swept his hand over the body of the ship, but just as he turned his head to Shen Nianzu, a commotion suddenly erupted on the surface!
"H–Help!" An NPC struggled to stay afloat as she clutched her bleeding arm. Around her, the crimson color spread like ink, causing the fishes to stir in restlessness.
"The dolphins... they attacked me!"
