Chapter 158: Timmy’s Thoughtful Gesture

Lily sat on the edge of her bed, her stomach growling softly as she scrolled through her phone. It was already past two in the afternoon, and she hadn’t eaten anything since she woke up. The chaotic morning had thrown her entire routine off, leaving her with barely a moment to breathe, let alone think about food.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of her phone buzzing beside her. She glanced at the screen and saw Timmy’s name flashing. She sighed, picked up the phone, and answered, "Timmy? What’s up?"

Timmy’s voice came through the line, brimming with excitement. "Lily! Have you seen the latest update? Lopez Digital Studios made a huge countermove. They released a statement clearing the resort and even provided evidence against the real culprits!"

Lily leaned back against the headboard, her eyebrows lifting in surprise. "I did see the news earlier, but I didn’t know it was this thorough. They really did that?"

"They sure did," Timmy said, almost breathless. "Their team dug deep, and it paid off. You can finally relax, Lily. There’s no way you’ll get implicated in any of this now. The case is turning in the right direction."

Lily felt the tension in her shoulders ease slightly. "That’s a relief. I was starting to worry about how this might affect everything, especially with how messy things were earlier."

Timmy chuckled. "Messy is putting it lightly. But hey, it’s all good now. You’re in the clear, and I’d say you’ve earned a break."

Lily laughed softly, shaking her head. "A break sounds nice, but I’ve been so caught up in everything, I haven’t even had lunch yet."

"You haven’t eaten?" Timmy’s voice turned incredulous. "What time is it now?"

"Almost two," Lily admitted, feeling slightly embarrassed.

As if on cue, her stomach let out a loud growl, and she froze. On the other side of the line, Timmy burst into laughter. "Did I just hear that? Right on time, huh?"

Lily’s cheeks flushed, and she tried to play it off. "You must be imagining things, Timmy."

"Imagining? Sure," he teased. "Well, lucky for you, I already prepared some food. The question is, should I deliver it to your room, or can you come down to the restaurant?"

Lily hesitated for a moment, weighing her options. "I’ll come to the restaurant," she finally said. "I could use some fresh air anyway."

"Perfect!" Timmy said, his voice brimming with enthusiasm. "I’ll be waiting for you here, then. See you soon, Lily!"

"See you soon," Lily replied before hanging up. She placed her phone on the nightstand and let out a small chuckle.

"Silly guy," she murmured to herself, shaking her head. "What are you up to now?"

Pushing herself off the bed, Lily moved to the wardrobe, scanning her options. She pulled out a couple of outfits, holding them up to the mirror. It was just lunch, so why was she taking so long to decide?

Her eyes narrowed at her reflection, and she muttered under her breath, "What am I doing? Am I seriously trying to look nice for Timmy?"

The thought startled her, and she placed the dress back on the rack. "Oh, my God. What is wrong with me?"

She stood there for a moment, debating with herself. Should she still go to the restaurant? Was she overthinking everything?

Finally, she sighed. "Whatever. I’ll just go with the flow. No use in overcomplicating things. Focus on the present, Lily. Just enjoy lunch and stop overthinking."

With that, she picked a simple yet elegant sundress in a soft coral shade. It was light, breezy, and perfect for a beachside lunch. She slipped it on, paired it with flat sandals, and gave herself a final glance in the mirror before heading out.

The restaurant was a short walk from her room, situated near the beach with a stunning view of the ocean. As she stepped inside, she paused, surprised by how quiet it was. She had expected chaos, given the morning’s events, but the place was unusually serene.

Lily glanced around, her brows furrowed. Where was everyone?

Before she could dwell on it, Timmy appeared from behind one of the partitions, a broad smile lighting up his face. "Lily! You’re finally here!"

His enthusiasm made her laugh. "Here I am," she said, her voice soft but amused.

Timmy approached her, holding out his hand. "Come on," he said, his tone gentler now. "I’ve got something special set up for you."

Lily hesitated for a moment, but Timmy’s earnest expression made her smile. She placed her hand in his, and he led her through the restaurant to a private room at the back.

The space was cozy and intimate, with a table set for two by a large window overlooking the beach. Soft sunlight poured in, casting a warm glow over the room.

Timmy pulled out a chair for her and gestured for her to sit. "I thought you could use some peace and quiet after the morning you’ve had," he said.

Lily took a seat, her heart warming at the thoughtful gesture. "Thank you, Timmy. This is perfect."

He grinned, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Anything for you, Lily."

Timmy stood beside Lily as she settled into her seat, the soft glow of sunlight filtering through the window behind them. He gave a small, subtle nod toward the door, and soon, servers entered the room, each carrying covered plates. They moved efficiently, setting the dishes down one by one, lifting the lids with practiced precision to reveal an impressive spread.

Lily’s eyes widened as she took in the sight. A vibrant salad with colorful vegetables, a creamy pasta dish that smelled heavenly, and a perfectly seared fish plated with roasted vegetables were just the beginning. There was also a bowl of steaming soup, warm bread rolls, and even a delicate dessert that gleamed under the light.

"Timmy..." she started, blinking in disbelief. "What is all this?"

Timmy chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck as he shifted on his feet. "I, uh, thought you might be too busy to grab food earlier," he began, his voice steady but with a slight tremor of nerves. "So I asked the restaurant if I could borrow their kitchen for a bit."
