Initially, Sha Chu thought that Li Xiu might have been taken out by the demon spirits. However, when looking down from the back of the Double-headed Demon Spirit, she saw Li Xiu wielding a semi-visible sword glowing with red light, forcing back the charging demon spirits.

"He’s not dead yet!" Sha Chu was slightly surprised. After a brief contemplation, she directed the Double-headed Demon Spirit to swoop down.

The air currents generated by the wings sent the demon spirits rolling away, and one claw grabbed Li Xiu, lifting him into the sky alongside it.

Li Xiu was already exhausted. The Fire Lotus Sword was incredibly heavy, and after wielding it for only a short time, his arms felt as if they were wasted, with his energy almost depleted.

"Thank you." Li Xiu exhaled deeply, speaking to Sha Chu on the back of the demon spirit.

"As long as I’m here, I won’t let you die," Sha Chu said indifferently. Seeing Li Xiu’s sorry state, it gave her a slight sense of satisfaction.

The two couldn’t remain happy for long. The Double-headed Demon Spirit, which had just taken flight, seemed to collide with an invisible barrier, becoming disoriented and tumbling downwards.

Initially, he assumed Demigod Shana, lacking flame power, wouldn’t be of much help. Unexpectedly, Demigod Shana, shimmering with a blue aura, wasn’t stuck by the ground and, wielding both sword and spear, swiftly cut down the oncoming demon spirits. The sound of gunfire roared, and the sword blades trailing blue sword glow decimated the surrounding demon spirits in an instant.

Demigod Shana’s gun fired continuously, blasting the approaching demon spirits one by one. With the sword in the other hand, Shana stabbed beneath Li Xiu and then swept horizontally, severing the glue-like mud that held Li Xiu.

Freed, Li Xiu climbed onto a demon spirit’s corpse.

Holding the Fire Lotus Sword, he killed a demon spirit that emerged from the ground and stepped on the demon spirit’s body to reach the Knight of Chrysanthemum.

The Fire Lotus Sword cut into the ground, slicing through the mud holding the Knight of Chrysanthemum, and he recalled it.

Applying the same method, Li Xiu also rescued the Jedi Knight and summoned it back.

Li Xiu fought the demon spirits with the Fire Lotus Sword in hand, standing on demon spirits’ corpses, avoiding sinking again.

In the meantime, Demigod Shana unleashed its full power, with most of the charging demon spirits being blasted or slain, leaving Li Xiu to occasionally plug the gaps.

He had no choice; his stamina was a major issue, and a few swings of the Fire Lotus Sword tired him out.

"I need to become a true Trial Taker soon; this is too exhausting," Li Xiu’s arms drooped, unable to lift the Fire Lotus Sword.

Demigod Shana was fiercely effective, but the demon spirits were overwhelming in number, and soon it was surrounded, unable to support Li Xiu further.

Li Xiu couldn’t even raise his sword, facing imminent danger of being overwhelmed by the charging demon spirits.

With a sudden idea, Li Xiu pulled out the packaging bag that trapped something, which squirmed inside, trying to break free.

"Come any closer, and I’ll kill it!" Li Xiu moved the packaging bag close to the Fire Lotus Sword’s edge, angrily shouting at the surrounding demon spirits.

He wasn’t sure if the demon spirits understood his words or if the threat would work, but he tried it anyway as a desperate measure.

Who would have thought this tactic would actually work? The demon spirits rushing at him halted, hesitating at a distance, no longer daring to approach.

Seeing the tactic was a success, Li Xiu was overjoyed, wielding the Fire Lotus Sword in one hand and clutching the packaging bag in the other, moving to regroup with Demigod Shana.

"Everything happening here is indeed related to this thing." Seeing the nearby demon spirits daring not to advance, encircling him instead, Li Xiu thought of ways to escape the predicament.
