Chapter 225: 126 Chameleon Cobalt Apatite_2
Li Xiu learned from his words that this guy was indeed like the fat man said; one of the miners hired by the fat man.
Later, the fat man became indifferent to this mine, and all the miners were dismissed and sent back.
But this miner was usually a gambler, owing a huge debt, and thought of the fat man’s mine, so he gathered a few other miners hoping to try their luck again.
Unexpectedly, they did dig up some spinel raw stones, but not many; each person only extracted a few relatively small spinel raw stones.
At that time, this guy surprisingly discovered a spinel raw stone of very high quality and quite large. He became greedy and secretly swallowed the raw stone, unwilling to share this high-quality raw stone with the other miners.
Originally, he planned to take some laxatives after returning home to expel the gemstone.
Who knew, after returning, he had taken plenty of laxatives, was almost dehydrated, yet didn’t see a trace of the gemstone.
The guy initially didn’t take it seriously, thinking he would take a strong dose once his body was better, no matter what to get the gemstone out.
Who knew after selling his share of raw stones and living lavishly for a few days, his body became problematic, not only slowly dehydrating despite drinking water tirelessly to no avail, but also developing pustules all over.
A few days passed, and he turned into this ghostly appearance, worsening by the day.
He could even feel as if his internal organs were about to rot completely.
"If you’re here for the gemstone, I beg you to kill me and end my suffering. After I’m dead, you can do whatever you want; just cut open my stomach, and you should find that spinel raw stone," the miner said with difficulty.
"Okay." Li Xiu nodded.
He didn’t mind bloodstaining; the miner’s current condition was indeed worse than death, continuing to live was only suffering.
"Good, then hurry up, I can’t endure another second." The miner’s lips trembled, seemingly enduring immense pain.
Li Xiu’s hand pressed on his waist, and with a flash of red light, the Fire Lotus Sword had pierced through the miner’s skull, instantly severing his consciousness and life.
"What I can do for you is only this," Li Xiu withdrew the sword, not a drop of blood stained the blade.
Confirming the miner was thoroughly dead, Li Xiu looked towards his abdomen.
Li Xiu suspected the spinel raw stone the miner swallowed very likely had "evil" residing inside, and after swallowing the spinel raw stone, the evil parasite took residence in his body.
The evil’s parasitic presence is beneficial to demon spirits, but the human body may not withstand such a parasitic existence.
So, the miner’s condition wasn’t a virus or curse, but he couldn’t endure the evil’s parasitic presence, which caused this situation.
Fortunately, the evil had previously parasitized inside the gemstone and not directly in his body; otherwise, the situation would be worse.
Li Xiu intended to dissect his corpse to retrieve the spinel raw stone inside, but suddenly saw his belly bulging upward.
With the blanket covering his body, Li Xiu couldn’t see what was underneath, only that his belly seemed protruded by a pillar-like object.
Li Xiu was staring when suddenly he heard a pop, the miner’s abdomen split open, and something rolled out.
Li Xiu retreated a few steps, focusing his gaze to find a pigeon-egg-sized pink raw stone rolling onto the ground.
The pink raw stone resembled a dirty jelly, rolling around the ground as if searching for something.
Before long, the pink raw stone seemed to fixate on a location, actually rolling towards Li Xiu.
Li Xiu grabbed a glass cup from the nearby table and trapped the pink raw stone underneath.
The pink raw stone spun around inside the glass cup, making the cup clatter noisily.
After a while, the pink raw stone suddenly quieted down, then began seeping a clear liquid, permeating out from within.
The raw stone was only the size of a pigeon egg, yet the seeping liquid nearly filled the glass cup, who knows how it managed to squeeze into the raw stone.
"It really is it!" Li Xiu exclaimed joyfully, seeing the creature wanting to drill into the gaps in the wooden floorboards, Li Xiu flipped the glass cup and used another cup’s base to seal the mouth.
"Little fellow, don’t be afraid, I’ll find you a good host," Li Xiu glanced at the miner’s corpse, pondered for a moment, then walked out of the wooden cabin.
"A Fei, go hire a few people to bury the miner’s corpse inside," Li Xiu instructed A Fei.
A Fei responded, turning to head towards the distant village.
Didn’t walk far before seeing the fat man standing not too far away, trying to look over, seeing A Fei coming this way, this guy surprisingly put on a mask, asked from afar, "Why are you coming back alone, where’s that brother?"
"The miner died; go find a few people to bury the miner’s corpse, you won’t miss out on benefits," A Fei said.
"I’d like to earn that money too, but no one dares to go," the fat man said helplessly.
"Don’t worry, he doesn’t have any infectious disease," A Fei replied.
"I believe you say so, but others might not; it’s not that I’m not helping you, there’s indeed no one daring to go, if you don’t believe, go ask around in the village, see if anyone dares. Even more money requires a life to spend," the fat man said helplessly.
