Chapter 126: Chapter 93: Really Can’t See?_2
Li Xiu slowly backed up to the door and reached out to open it.
As soon as the door was opened, someone stumbled and rushed in, crashing into the room before Li Xiu had a chance to pull him back.
The sound of a bee hive being smashed and the buzzing of countless poisonous bees flapping their wings filled Li Xiu’s ears. He immediately grabbed A Fei and dashed out, shutting the door behind them.
Ye Yuzhen chased after Li Xiu in a frenzy, no longer willing to wait or waste time. He wanted to catch up to Li Xiu and kill him directly.
With these thoughts, Ye Yuzhen accelerated even further, charging toward the opposite doorway.
This door led to the opposite room, and without thinking, he crashed into it.
Unexpectedly, just as he was about to hit the door, it opened on its own, causing Ye Yuzhen to lose control and tumble into the room.
He kept charging forward for several steps, unable to stop, and nearly collided with a bee hive right in front of his face.
Li Xiu couldn’t see, but Ye Yuzhen could—he saw the hive and was startled. Yet, unable to halt his momentum, he had to twist his waist awkwardly to avoid the hive.
"Luckily my old waist holds up; it’s not so easy to mess with me!" Ye Yuzhen thought proudly of his agility and waist strength, but then heard a crunching sound from beneath his feet.
Ye Yuzhen’s face suddenly changed, his neck stiffly bending down to see a hive crushed under his foot, releasing swarms of poisonous bees.
"Ah!" Ye Yuzhen yelled, immediately turning and sprinting back.
Watching Li Xiu and A Fei charge out through the door, he gathered strength in his legs and leaped forward like an arrow, hoping to use his momentum to flee the room.
But Li Xiu had already closed the door behind him.
In mid-air, Ye Yuzhen couldn’t stop himself and slammed into the door with a thud.
Buzz! Buzz!
Swarms of poisonous bees surrounded him, stabbing him with their stingers.
"Ah! Ahhh! Oh..." The screams rang out continuously.
Li Xiu, pulling A Fei, had long since run into another room, continuing to search for other exits.
No matter how he ran, Li Xiu’s mind seemed like a map. Everywhere he went was memorized, continuously analyzed, calculated, and judged.
After more than twenty minutes, Li Xiu finally found an exit with A Fei. After they walked out, they saw Sha Chu and three other Trial Takers had already emerged, making six people including Li Xiu and A Fei.
As the seconds ticked away, no one else came out besides them six.
At the nearly thirty-minute mark, a man with a heavily swollen head resembling a pig’s head staggered out in the final seconds.
"The first trial is over, rewards distributed, clearing in progress... Countdown to the second trial begins... Anyone not participating in the second trial, please remove their trial wristband..."
Everyone who passed the trial received a Demon Core and a body strengthening.
Ye Yuzhen’s eyes were swollen to mere slits, glaring viciously at Li Xiu, his appearance looking more pitiful and funny than fierce.
"Don’t let me see you again, or you’ll be dead for sure." Ye Yuzhen thought he was threatening Li Xiu fiercely, but his current appearance was simply not intimidating, even amusing.
Li Xiu chuckled: "Entering the Trial Ground means submitting to Celestial Mandate, if you want to kill me, just go ahead, I won’t blame you if I die."
"Fine, you’re fine, wait for it... Ouch..." Ye Yuzhen tried to act tough but tugged at the wounds on his face, causing him to clutch his face in pain. Touching the bee stings made it worse, prompting his cries.
"Next time... next time I’ll definitely kill you..." Ye Yuzhen cursed, removing his wristband.
He truly dared not continue; his body wasn’t strong enough to ignore the bee venom. Thankfully, he was already a true Trial Taker, his physique far surpassing ordinary people. A typical Trial Taker would have been stung to death long ago and wouldn’t have had the chance to threaten Li Xiu.
The other ordinary Trial Takers opted out, finding the B-level difficulty already taxing, choosing not to risk further.
Li Xiu, A Fei, and Sha Chu chose to continue, facing the second trial—escape from the Dark Maze within twenty minutes.
The three of them set off together, and even though the maze layout had changed, they managed to traverse the Dark Maze in twenty minutes.
With three participants left, the next trial unexpectedly became the final one. The rules of the Hero Trial Ground were evidently different from other trial grounds.
After receiving the reward, Sha Chu turned to Li Xiu and A Fei, saying: "According to precedent, the next trial should require us to escape the Dark Maze in ten minutes. It’s nearly impossible unless we choose the right rooms every time without a single mistake and aren’t delayed by those poisonous insects and beasts inside; it’s too hard. I’m giving up, what about you two?"
"I want to give it a try." Li Xiu thought for a moment and said, not joining the final trial would mean missing out on the other rewards, which wouldn’t satisfy his needs.
