Chapter 1670: Incident at the Dead Sea
Chapter 1670: Chapter 1670: Incident at the Dead Sea
Jiang Xiaobai’s figure reappeared at the location previously notified by the White Crane’s messenger, where Ao Yan was also present.
He had earlier instructed Ao Yan to expose her whereabouts and then rendezvous here. This place was not far from the previous battleground.
"Are you okay?"
Ao Yan still looked worried about Jiang Xiaobai. Previously, she had no choice but to leave and expose Jiang Xiaobai’s location, but otherwise, she would never have left his side!
"I’m fine. That guy, though he’s supposedly a Supreme... No, perhaps a Half-Step Supreme. Later, an even stronger being appeared... But it doesn’t matter. At least the Earth Immortal Realm’s factions are now aware of the presence of the foreign race."
Jiang Xiaobai smiled faintly. "Why, Yan’er, are you this worried about your husband? It’s just a Half-Step Supreme, no big deal."
Hearing this, Ao Yan glanced at Jiang Xiaobai, her lips twitching.
"The way you’re flaunting now really makes me want to punch you."
"So that’s why you had such a big grudge against me before? But back then, I didn’t even like showing off."
Jiang Xiaobai chuckled awkwardly.
Ao Yan didn’t reply to this, but instead sat with Jiang Xiaobai by the small stream nearby. She idly removed her shoes and used her delicate jade-like feet to gently splash the water.
"Tell me, how much longer do we have to wait before we can live that kind of life?"
Ao Yan murmured while gazing into the distance, "I’m so afraid of losing you again. I don’t want to go through that feeling anymore."
"Soon, Yan’er. Look, aren’t we already nearly invincible in the world? Another year or so, and we’ll truly be unbeatable. By then, we can go wherever we want, and no one can stop us."
Jiang Xiaobai wrapped an arm around Ao Yan’s shoulder, gently resting his chin on her forehead.
He too was looking forward to such a life.
At that moment, the beauty in his arms squirmed slightly. Jiang Xiaobai looked down to see Ao Yan’s face flushed red, her eyes dreamy.
Before he could react, a fragrant kiss landed on his lips.
The two quickly lost themselves in a passionate embrace!
...
"No way, Yan’er! Even here? When did you become like this?!"
Jiang Xiaobai, now fully dressed, looked at Ao Yan in disbelief.
Ao Yan simply glared at him, then raised her foot and stomped fiercely on Jiang Xiaobai’s toes.
"You’re the one to blame for being useless. It’s been so long, and I’ve been counting the days. Not a single sign from my belly!"
Jiang Xiaobai pouted, instinctively rubbing his lower back.
Judging by how his wife was acting, if their future were to truly calm down, his days wouldn’t be easy at all.
Just as Ao Yan was about to leap into the stream to clean herself, she suddenly clutched her abdomen uncontrollably, one hand propping herself against a tree as she started to retch.
Seeing this, Jiang Xiaobai’s first thought was that she might be pregnant!
"Could it really be?!"
Jiang Xiaobai rushed forward, grabbing Ao Yan’s arm to investigate, only to be pushed away by her.
"What are you thinking? It’s been such a short time. Even if we started trying, it’s way too early to have any symptoms. I just felt dizzy for a moment, like something was unsettling my spirit..."
Ao Yan cast another disdainful glance at Jiang Xiaobai. Then, with sudden determination, she grabbed his shoulders and dragged him toward a small cave nearby.
She raised a hand to set a protective barrier, and, before Jiang Xiaobai could make sense of it all, he found himself pinned against the cave wall!
As for what happened next, let’s leave out the details!
...
Meanwhile, in the East Sea Dragon Palace, the Dragon King, Ao Nong, was frowning deeply, staring intently at a trembling crystal orb before him.
His expression was so grim that the attendants around him didn’t even dare to breathe audibly!
At that moment, three more figures entered.
They were none other than the Dragon Kings of the West Sea, North Sea, and South Sea!
"Brother, what’s going on? Why did you summon us so urgently?"
The North Sea Dragon King hurriedly asked.
The Four Dragon Kings generally stayed within their own territories. Although they were blood relatives, they rarely visited each other.
This rule had been set from the very beginning; each of them had to guard their respective regions. Unless it was a significant matter, such abrupt gatherings were absolutely unheard of.
Ao Nong pointed at the crystal orb in front of him. "Do you see this disturbance?"
The three stared in confusion, and then a chill crept up their spines!
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible! The Dead Sea has been quiet for countless years. Even though the Stabilizing Sea Needle was taken by that monkey back then, the Heaven Court deployed measures to suppress the Dead Sea. It’s been millions of years. How could something happen now?"
The South Sea Dragon King exclaimed in disbelief. "Besides, brother, those were methods of the Heaven Court. Even after all these years, it’s not something any ordinary person could tamper with!"
Though the Four Dragon Kings hadn’t personally experienced that ancient rupture, they knew plenty about it through inheritance.
It was this knowledge that allowed the Four Dragon Palaces to firmly secure their places as supreme forces.
But that wasn’t the main point...
"Do you know what lies within the Dead Sea?"
Ao Nong said slowly, "It contains the Black Dragon that was sealed, the traitor that was suppressed, as well as the Eye of the Four Waters of the world. The Dead Sea has been untouchable in every era!"
"The seal is indeed intact, but the issue comes from within!"
As he spoke, Ao Nong’s expression turned ferocious. "Someone managed to infiltrate the Dead Sea using unknown methods and took something from within!"
At these words, the three others turned pale with shock!
"What?! Who could possibly infiltrate the Dead Sea? Could it be them?"
The West Sea Dragon King asked, horrified.
"Not necessarily. This matter is for us to know and no one else. None of you must leak a word. Now, the three of you take your men to the Dead Sea to investigate and guard the area. I’m going to the Heaven Court."
After Ao Nong finished speaking, he disappeared instantly, not caring what his brothers thought.
The remaining three were left standing anxiously.
The Dead Sea was a serious matter. Now that the Way of Heaven was awakening, karma and sin were beginning to resurface. If anything happened to the Dead Sea, the Four Dragon Kings would be held accountable!
The West Sea Dragon King was so furious he nearly wanted to kill someone.
"Damn it, why now of all times? If something happens, we’re doomed!"
"Who can withstand the descent of karmic fire?"
The Way of Heaven was reviving, and the karmic fire that had vanished for millions of years would return to the world!
Could it be that the Four Dragon Palaces would be the first to face its wrath?
"No, we need to investigate immediately!"
The North Sea Dragon King urged, "Gather the troops and check the situation! If something really goes wrong, none of us will escape the consequences!"
The three quickly sprang into action. To ensure secrecy, all attendants who knew about the matter were executed on the spot!
There was no choice. The Dead Sea was of immense importance. If word got out to anyone with malicious intent, not only the Dragon Palaces but the entire Earth Immortal Realm would be doomed!
Time flew by. At dawn, Jiang Xiaobai stumbled out of the cave, hands on his aching back. As he looked at the sunshine outside, he felt that something was off.
"Strange... Why is the sunlight green today...?"
"Wait, that’s not the main point. The main point is, how is there sunlight? Where did the mountains in the sky go?!"
Jiang Xiaobai was bewildered. Looking up, he realized that the massive floating mountains above...
Were gone!
