Chapter 243: Justice Always Wins
Chapter 243: Justice Always Wins
Chadha could see many things since he began creating the alliance.
Combining the intelligence of three tribes, Chadha knows more things and knowing more things, make him even more prepared.
And Chadha speculated that if Nergui really attack Wustkazan, there is many people that would take advantage of that.
Wustkazan is big.
It might not be strong.
But it is big.
And that is not a land that you could take without preparations.
You could take a chunk of land from them because Wustkazan does not have that many people for them to maintain influence in what they called their area.
But if that is the case, why is it that even until now, Wustkazan still stands?
It is because they usually unite their forces at one point of area and then when these invaders meets them, they would be broken. As for the lands, they would take it back as their invaders retreated.
It has been the same tactic.
When invaders come, they would send news to the small tribes and clans to gather at certain location.
All the while they use guerrilla warfare, attacking in small units and when any force wanted to capture them, they would prioritize running away.
On and on, until the main force of the invaders met the main force of Wustkazan.
In that situation, the advantage lies in Wustkazan. Because not only they are familiar with the terrain, they have also harassed the invading force repeatedly.
Usually, it would end with the invading force having to retreat.
This has been their tactic
But that kind of tactic would it still work now? In the past, the situation of the Great Steppe is not like this.
Now, surely there is also a change
If Nergui ride toward the western border of Wustkazan then someone could attack Wustkazan from the eastern border.
Two front attack is not something the Wustkazan is used to. Not to mention old allies of Wustkazan might not help them this time because of their own interest.
Before, it is stable.
Allies and enemies is easily distinguished.
Now, everyone is competing. Enemy and allies depends on interest. Friends today, enemies tomorrow.
Wustkazan might be split apart just like how Ultar and Nergui tribe split the Aksak tribe
It would be safer if the alliance either expand toward the west or the north. The north is Ultar domain.
That is what they agree eon.
The alliance was signed based on this understanding. The north should be his and the other direction is theirs
Of course, if they wanted to change this, they should meet and make sure everyone is on the same page.
If any of their plans goes into motion, it would diminish Chagai tribe ability to voice anything after the dust settles. Because if all goes to plan, then Chagai would be the weakest force in the alliance.
That is why, Chagai needs to expand , get more warriors, and become stronger.
"Haltur" he thought to himself.
There is another alliance that Chagai could rely on. And it was the Brolgadhr tribe
"I need to know their attitude"
Chadha became even warier of the Brolgadhr tribe after he created the tripartite alliance.
He had half expected that Aeryon would break the alliance between the Chagai tribe and the Brolgadhr tribe
And he even expected that Aeryon would lead his men to attack his tribe.
there is even a contingency measure he created with Ultar and Nergui tribe in case of invasion by the Brolgadhr tribe.
One of such measures was using the power of the western border tribes to contain Aeryon. Fortunately, none of this happen.
Even after knowing the formation of the alliance, Aeryon did not do anything.
He might not send congratulation but that is already kind enough that he did not do anything. He also did not send him any warning
In principle, Chadha did nothing wrong.
Because each tribe could do as many alliances as they want.
However, it is true the current situation of the tribes of the Great Steppe is very different than what many people are used to
Just a few months ago, tribes still forge alliance based on relations and shared history.
They would not forge alliance with tribes that have feud with each other, no matter how small the feud is
But things have changed just in a few months.
Now, the tribes could shake hands with another tribe even if they have death feud with each other in the pats as long as they share the same interest.
There is a shift in the attitude of the chief.
And Aeryon contributed greatly to this with him even able to forgive his enemies and enter into an alliance with them or sparing them
Some people thought Aeryon would become weak or perceived as weak by others as he shows forgiveness.
But as the chief could see, Aeryon discipline of his warriors is so strong that instead of weakening confidence towards him as the chief, he became even more powerful
And seeing this, how could the other chief not follow suit? Feuds are important. But interest between tribes is also considered nowadays.
And because of that, when Aeryon did not do anything to him, Chadha become even more uneasy
The agreement between Aeryon and Chadha is simply to help each other and Chagai tribe is not subservient to Aeryon or his tribe.
But the more that Aeryon is like this, the warier he is.
"I must make sure that their intention is clear"
He wanted to attack Haltur.
But he worried that during the attack, the Brolgadhr tribe would suddenly attack him from behind.
Not to mention that all his southern and eastern area all is near Brolgadhr tribe influence. If Aeryon wanted to he could mobilize the Duhai and the Zlata tribe to attack from the south and Aeryon could even create another force to attack from the east.
"But who’s to send?"
Chadha took all morning before he decided to send one of his sons to the Brolgadhr tribe. One of them is to inform the Brolgadhr tribe that he would attack the Haltur tribe with Ultar and Nergui tribe assistance.
He wanted to know what Aeryon would do after knowing this. Would he show resistance to this idea or will he approve it?
Either way, Chadha would decide after reading the report.
The morning end quickly and noon came, and a meeting was held. The Elders, the great warriors all came to the chief tent, sitting cross legged in their seating area, sitting in comfy cushion bought from the merchants that passes by the Southern Great Steppe.
In this meeting Chadha did not mince words.
They all agree in attacking Haltur.
And they all debated how long would it take for them to took down Haltur.
Haltur warriors itself is not to be underestimated. The tribe that they should worry about in helping Haltur, other than the Brolgadhr is the three tribes that neighbours Haltur tribe
That three tribe is Burka, Gir tribe and Ino tribe.
Chadha even though he is not young and not as strong as the younger warriors, he is more experienced than them all.
He knows that the Burka tribe would not be able to help much.
Because now Burka not only need to worry about Bolghar tribe, they should also be worried about the Khagai and the Brolgadhr tribe
After the Battle in Nurshira, Khagai tribe seems to be rejuvenated with newfound vigour.
While it is hard for Chadha to get news far in the east, he could easily get news from nearby. And Khagai is a nearby tribe.
And Khagai is also allied with the Brolgadhr tribe. But just because Khagai tribe is allied with Brolgadhr tribe does not mean that the Khagai tribe is allied with him.
But it is because of these factors, that even if Burka wanted to defend Haltur, they could not use their full force. This is Chadha opinion and it is an opinion that is shared by many in the tent
Gir tribe could also lend some help. But Chadha has a plan against the Gir tribe. He decided to use his old connection in the Toghrul tribe.
He wanted to persuade ethe chief of Toghrul to attack Gir if Gir tribe send his men to aid Haltur.
In Aeryon tent, Mayeux outline his plan for the world.
And Chadha also has his own plans for the world. Though his world might be smaller than the world Mayeux and Aeryon imagine, it is also a grand ambition.
And who knows what would happen later in the future?
Aeryon and Mayeux dreams big and they make big plans. And Chadha is the kind of man who makes plans according to the situation.
He always minimized his plans so that it would not be too bloated.
And then if that one objective of his pans is realized, and if he sees another chance for it to be better, then the plan would eb expanded.
It is hard to tell which approach is better. In the end, time would prove which one is better. The winner would be the better plan.
Because like laws and order, the winner is the one that will make the history. Justice always wins because the winner is justice.
