Chapter 1849: Section 1850: The Function of Compression

In the following time, Sanders detailed some methods and elements for settling the mind and exemplified them through his own experiences. Although Angel could not replicate Sanders’ path, it indeed brought him great enlightenment.

About ten minutes later, Sanders stopped. He had said all that needed to be said, and the rest depended on Angel himself.

After Angel had mostly digested the information, Sanders suddenly said, "By the way, did you just say you identified a new Green Vein effect?"

Angel: "Yes, it’s a Green Vein with a surface effect of compression. Currently, I can’t see any use for it. However, the subsequent layers of this Green Vein are similar to the ’Contain and Release’ Green Vein, so it should also be an auxiliary effect Green Vein. The specifics need to be analyzed further to know."

"Compression, huh..." Sanders sighed lightly, "I once conducted experiments to compress the Nightmare Realm’s aura, which ended in failure. I didn’t expect that the method for compressing the Nightmare Realm’s aura required the Green Vein System."

Angel also knew about this because Sanders had recorded this experiment in the "Mystery of the Nightmare Realm".

"Speaking of which, do you know why I conducted this experiment?" After lamenting, Sanders gazed at Angel with deep eyes.

Angel recalled, and although "Mystery of the Nightmare Realm" did not record the reason for Sanders conducting the experiment, based on some reflections Sanders wrote under this experiment, he could roughly guess: "Is it because of the Mare Stone?"

Sanders nodded: "That’s right, it was indeed for the Mare Stone."

Although Sanders couldn’t necessarily bring out other things from the Nightmare Realm, he often visited it, and the aura occasionally congealed into Mare Stone. So, Sanders wasn’t particularly lacking in Mare Stone.

But not lacking does not mean it can be used indiscriminately, especially since Mare Stone comes from the extremely dangerous Nightmare Realm.

Sanders valued Mare Stone highly, naturally hoping that each Mare Stone could exert its maximum effect and be fully utilized.

"... According to my research, Mare Stone is essentially Nightmare Realm aura compressed to its extreme, resulting in a peculiar inert congealment. Using Mare Stone involves reactivating its inert properties to restore it to normal Nightmare Realm aura."

Upon hearing this, Angel understood the reason for Sanders’ experiment. It seemed that he wanted to compress the Nightmare Realm’s aura so that it would re-congeal into Mare Stone.

"Precisely, this would save the most on Mare Stone consumption. As you know, activating Mare Stone often results in a substantial loss of Nightmare Realm aura, which is very wasteful." Sanders paused, "So now, do you understand what I mean?"

Angel: "Mentor means using the ’Compression’ Green Vein might form Mare Stone?"

"That’s just my hypothesis. The formation of Mare Stone is too mysterious, and whether it is reversible is unknown. I hope that when you develop this Green Vein effect later, you can help verify it and, in the process, give an answer to the failed experiment detailed in ’Mystery of the Nightmare Realm’."

Sander’s rare request naturally received a nod from Angel.

Even if Sanders hadn’t mentioned it, Angel would have pursued it. When Sanders handed him the "Mystery of the Nightmare Realm," he mentioned that the cost of reading the book was to enhance and supplement its content when feasible in the future.

Moreover, if "Compression" can truly produce Mare Stone, it would be a highly profitable venture for Angel. He could continuously manufacture Nightmare Realm aura through the combination of "Release" and "Compression" Green Veins!

Currently, due to its scarcity, the market value of Mare Stone hasn’t fully manifested, but it’s undeniably expensive.

If it could be sold in large quantities... The thought made Angel’s heartbeat quicken. Although he wasn’t lacking in money, the idea of such a profitable venture was enticing.

So, even if Sanders didn’t entrust him, knowing that "Compression" might yield Mare Stone would guarantee Angel’s attempts.

After discussing the topic of self-settlement, Angel proactively brought up the matter of moving from Illusion Demon Island to an external ruin with Sanders.

Upon hearing this news, Sanders nodded, "Indeed, it’s time to move. Although the Seed might not act against you, it’s certainly wise to take preventive measures."

They continued discussing some other topics.

For instance, what Angel was most concerned about—the current situation of the Puppet Hospital.

Sanders didn’t hide anything, briefly explaining the situation of the active lines.

There hadn’t been any new active line infections in Windmill Town, and some of the infected had already been discharged; however, those infected for too long needed a more extended period to eliminate the active lines through Nightmare Realm aura lures. Despite the passing days, many remained infected.

Although there were many patients at the hospital, Angel felt the situation was at least improving.

However, Sanders was not as optimistic: "This is just Windmill Town improving; we don’t yet know about other places."

If other places were similarly affected by the active lines, it would truly mean "falling". Windmill Town had the Barbarian Cave to rely on, but other places might quickly descend into disaster.

By then, even if Sanders went, it would likely be too late. Facing tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of patients with madness, Sanders didn’t believe he had the energy or time to heal them all.

So, all they could do was pray for safety elsewhere.

...

After discussing the situation of the Puppet Hospital, Angel also shared some of his matters, like his previous conversation with Lord Rhein.

"Did you discuss the Wilderness of Dreams with Lord Rhein?" Sanders inquired with a hint of surprise.

"No, I only asked Lord Rhein a question: If, one day, there were something that might affect the entire Wizards’ Realm, should I pursue it?" Angel detailed the conversation to Sanders.

After hearing Angel’s account, Sanders chuckled: "No wonder when I met Lord Rhein before, he secretly asked if you were secretly up to something. I was puzzled at the time. So, this was what he was referring to."

"The small-scale opening of the Wilderness of Dreams isn’t far off. Telling Lord Rhein doesn’t hurt, but let’s keep it a secret for now, as the overall situation of the Wilderness of Dreams hasn’t been fully developed. It’s not too late to talk after it’s perfected."

"Plus, it’s a rare chance to see him show an emotional reaction. I want to see what expression he’ll have when it officially opens in the future."

Regarding the topic of opening the Wilderness of Dreams, Sanders and Angel didn’t delve much further. A detailed plan was required for this matter, and it couldn’t be discussed in just a few minutes. Once the Wilderness of Dreams truly enters the ’Era of the Extraordinary,’ they will certainly find time to analyze the pros and cons thoroughly before making a decision.
