Chapter 1847: Section 1848: Terrifying Reminiscence

"I see." The Tree Spirit’s voice carried a sudden enlightenment: "You couldn’t stand their rivalry, so you ran out?"

Angel nodded: "We agreed to redeem the Eyeless Man, but after talking for ages, not a word was mentioned about the Eyeless Man—all they did was attack each other, it was unbearable to watch."

The Tree Spirit seemed accustomed to it: "Actually, this isn’t too bad. They’re still at a stage where both sides give and take; whether it’s sharp arrows or blunt soft knives, you can see everything clearly and know how to respond. When the Tea Party arrives, you’ll realize what truly is terrifying."

Although the Tree Spirit had not personally experienced a Tea Party, the Witches of the Barbarian Cave had attended before, and when they returned to discuss it, the Tree Spirit naturally heard about it. Just hearing these peripheral rumors, the Tree Spirit felt afraid.

"The Tea Party is not only a gathering for information exchange but also a battlefield for seizing speech rights and spreading rumors. Even without smoke and fire, the underlying tension is no less than any battlefield."

The Tree Spirit’s reflection made Angel seem to smell blood and rain.

Greya and Lydia could slander each other to this extent, so Angel could imagine how terrifying the Tea Party could be.

Luckily... the Tea Party is a Witches’ occasion, men are not allowed.

Angel: "In the end, Tree Spirit Lord, you still don’t want to host the Tea Party, right."

The Tree Spirit nodded matter-of-factly: "Indeed. But the Tea Party must be hosted, though it’d be better not in the Mirror World. If it must be in the Mirror World, I’d rather it not be beside the Eternal Tree. I definitely couldn’t stand it."

"Right! Why not develop a large external ruin as a gathering spot for the Tea Party?" The Tree Spirit’s voice suddenly heightened, thinking this was a very good suggestion.

"Not talking to you anymore, I’m going to chat with Lianna!" As the words finished, the leaves floating in mid-air fell directly down, no more sounds were heard—clearly, the Tree Spirit had left.

Angel picked up the leaf that landed on his nose, casually twirled it, seemingly thinking of something, he chuckled softly: "The Tree Spirit’s idea might be hard to realize..."

Angel had interacted with Lianna before, so he somewhat understood her personality. Although Lianna didn’t show it clearly, she had a slight perfectionist compulsion. Hence, the Tree Spirit’s proposal might work for other Wizards who don’t care about the occasion. But for someone like Lianna who wants everything to approach perfection, even reaching the ceremonial level, it certainly won’t do.

Moreover, Lianna is a very responsible person. Since she is hosting the Tea Party, her sense of responsibility absolutely won’t allow such careless handling; the Tree Spirit will definitely be rejected.

Looking back, Angel also understood the Tree Spirit. When the Tea Party is held, other Wizards might stay home and ignore what’s happening outside; but the Tree Spirit is different. Its thought tendrils spread along the Eternal Tree’s branches, so what it sees and hears will be a hundred times, a thousand times the mental battle of "Greya and Lydia’s rivalry." Most importantly, it cannot escape, as countless Witches will gather, and the Tree Spirit will have to maintain safety and oversee prohibitions—in such inevitable situations, the Tree Spirit indeed cannot help it.

There’s no way around it; after all, the Tea Party can’t not be held, such a grand event can’t be casually held anywhere.

The Tree Spirit wants to escape, but there are only two ways: First, find a better venue. Clearly, this is impossible; the Pamiji Plateau is currently fraught with danger, and no other place meets Lianna’s requirements.

The second way is for the Mirror Lady to take charge. As psychologically-Female, she has the patience and loves the exchanges of the Tea Party; additionally, as the Mirror Spirit of the Mirror World, she can observe the heavens and the earth, oversee the safety—hence, the Mirror Lady can completely replace the Tree Spirit to lead the Tea Party.

Unfortunately... the Mirror Lady is still in slumber, and there’s no sign of her waking yet.

Thus, Angel can only silently sympathize with the Tree Spirit.

Another ten minutes passed, Angel sensed the situation in the study, finding that Greya and Lydia were still at each other’s throats, showing no sign of negotiation. Angel sighed and decided to rest a bit longer.

Since Toby was guarding Asaz’s fish snacks, Angel wasn’t planning to go in and disturb, so he closed his eyes and entered the Wilderness of Dreams through the Dream Bridge.

...

This was the first rain Originheart City had seen since entering autumn.

Although it was merely a light drizzle, it stirred ripples in the faintly parched through-city river once more.

In this misty weather, a Skycraft sailed into the city center from outside.

The residents of Originheart City looked up, their eyes carrying a hint of longing; the Skycraft is currently the only means of transportation outside the city, unfortunately... only the Demonic Fiend’s lab personnel could use it.

The Skycraft stopped at the top of Sky Tower, the door opened, and the ladder rolled down smoothly.

A young man with short curly hair and dark eye circles yawned as he walked down the ladder.

"Young Master Tyson, do you need an umbrella?" Footsteps sounded from behind; the man clad entirely in armor followed Frode as they exited the Skycraft.

Frode shook his head and looked at the very close Sky Tower: "Only a distance of over ten meters, no need for an umbrella."

Frode descended the ladder, and the armored man behind him prepared to follow.

Frode shook his head: "You needn’t come with me; head back to the lab."

"Shalu is Young Master’s Knight, needs to protect Young Master’s safety." This armored man was Shalu, whose thoughts had been changed after being touched by the House of the Heart.

Frode: "I’ve said your allegiance is not to me but to all the citizens of Originheart City. Moreover, there’s no danger here; no need for close protection."

Shalu remained silent, still half-kneeling on the ground.

"Return to the lab first; your brother Lisa needs you." Frode again urged.

Seeing that Shalu still didn’t move, Frode rubbed his temple, thinking how Shalu seemed so clever before, but now appeared so stubborn?

"This is an order." Frode could only put on a stern face, upon which Shalu hesitantly nodded and retreated to the Skycraft.

Frode, meanwhile, drenched in drizzle, walked toward the platform at the top of Sky Tower, his eyes unfocused. He couldn’t help it; he’d been soaking in the Demonic Fiend’s lab for the past few days, working straight through three days and nights—no matter how strong Frode’s spiritual power was, he couldn’t withstand it now.

Now, he just wanted to hurry back to his office, pull out the soft black fleece blanket from the drawer and sleep on the floor.

Frode didn’t pay attention to the Skycraft flying away behind him, as he quickly walked to the office, yawning as he pushed the door open.

As Frode entered, his languid expression instantly froze.

In there, sat a cold, tall man.

"Illusion Demon Lord?!"

Sanders lifted his eyes, looking at Frode’s dark circles that nearly turned pure black: "It seems you’ve been busy lately."

Frode scratched his temples, unsure how to respond. However, Sanders did not wait for Frode to formulate a reply, but instead asked: "Has Angel come over the past two days?"
