Chapter 1795: Section 1796 Investigation

Sanders’ words gave them a reminder.

The previous threat from the Sprout Cult indirectly indicated that Rosen was already under their surveillance. However, how could they be so sure that the Arrow of the Defeated would definitely hit Rosen?

There are only two reasons for this.

The first reason is the mysterious nature of the Arrow of the Defeated.

Their current understanding of the Arrow of the Defeated is still just a vague concept. It’s possible that the Arrow of the Defeated can directly ignore all external factors, accurately locking onto Rosen, and then make an ultra-long-distance strike against Rosen.

After all, mysterious objects cannot be measured by normal logic; any situation is possible.

The second reason is that there are Sprout Cult followers right in Sky Mechanical City who confirmed Rosen’s identity and location, directly contacting the person holding the arrow remotely, causing the current outcome.

Both reasons have certain possibilities. However, the first reason cannot be speculated upon, so Muse is more inclined to, or rather hopes it is the second reason.

From that Sprout Cult follower who threatened Rosen, it can be inferred that the Sprout Sect must possess some ultra-long-distance, even across planes and space-time secret communication means, so Rosen’s act of banishing them into the void was grasped by the Sprout Sect in the first instance.

Based on this premise, as long as they descend upon Sky Mechanical City and confirm Rosen’s identity, they can remotely contact and strike.

Moreover, only the second reason can leave remnants of clues, giving them a chance to investigate.

With this thought, Muse nodded to Sanders as a gesture of thanks, then turned to Antonio and said, "Use the Magic Energy Eye to monitor all outsiders who came to Sky Mechanical City yesterday and today. Perhaps among them is the instigator."

After Muse spoke, Greya suddenly said, "It is indeed possible that Sprout Cult followers are colluding internally and externally, which allowed them to strike City Lord Rosen accurately. But, Dean Muse, how can you be sure that the one supplying information to the Sprout Cult is someone who recently arrived in Sky Mechanical City? Perhaps this Sprout Cult follower, hidden in the shadows, has been lurking in Sky Mechanical City for a long time."

Before Muse could respond, Angel refuted Greya.

"If City Lord Rosen’s intelligence was indeed transmitted through collusion, then the person transmitting the information could absolutely not have been lurking there early on. They must have arrived in the past couple of days," Angel stated with certainty.

"How can you be sure of that?" Greya asked in confusion.

Angel did not look at Greya but instead focused his gaze on another side where Rosen’s head was: "It’s a simple logic. If they had been lurking in Sky Mechanical City for a long time, they would definitely have more detailed information, especially about City Lord Rosen."

Although Angel did not say it explicitly, Greya, looking at Rosen’s head with slightly creepy open eyes, immediately understood.

If they had been lurking for a long time, they would know that most of Rosen’s body is composed of machinery. Once this information is known, the Arrow of the Defeated’s target would definitely be Rosen’s head, not his heart.

The fact that Rosen is not dead now explains everything. The other side definitely lacks detailed information about Rosen, meaning they could only have arrived recently in Sky Mechanical City.

Greya no longer expressed confusion, showing she also agreed with Angel’s viewpoint.

Angel then looked toward Antonio: "You can investigate those who recently came to Sky Mechanical City and inquired about City Lord Rosen; also, pay detailed attention to one person."

Antonio: "Mr. Pat, who are you referring to?"

"Si Man!"

Since the Sprout Cult followers retaliate so vindictively, Rosen is one focal point, and surely Si Man is another. They have dealt with Rosen; perhaps they will target Si Man next, so investigating Si Man’s surroundings might reveal a clue.

Muse also nodded: "Angel is right. The information the Sprout Sect can know now revolves around Rosen, and Si Man is another. Antonio, immediately dispatch the Magic Energy Eye to patrol near Si Man and her friends to see if anyone new has recently visited Sky Mechanical City."

When Muse’s words fell, Antonio nodded, and the pale blue light spirit transformed into countless light spots, disappearing from the room.

After Antonio disappeared, Muse nodded to Angel: "This time it was thanks to you. Once this matter is temporarily settled, come to the Fantasy Mechanical City; I have something for you."

Although Muse did not state it explicitly, it was clear he intended to give Angel some compensation or gift.

Angel: "I actually plan to return to the Barbarian Cave today, so we can talk about it later."

Muse was momentarily taken aback, possibly not expecting Angel to leave so soon. He pondered briefly and said, "With the Sprout cult now descending, Sky Mechanical City is unlikely to be peaceful in the short term, so leaving now might be best for you."

He paused and took out a silver gear-shaped button from his steam magic robe.

As Muse gently rubbed the jagged edges, the gear button emitted a faint radiance, and the space around it started to ripple like water. The mini signal tower outside was covered by the ripples and gradually disappeared.

Then, Muse lightly weighed the gear button, which hadn’t gotten heavier, and finally tossed it to Angel with a wave of his hand.

"The mini signal tower is packed inside; I’ll just give it to you." Muse appeared indifferent, but a slight twitch at the corner of his eye suggested he wasn’t completely unconcerned inside.

Angel caught that glimpse of Muse’s heartache, smiling inwardly, and returned the gear button, "There’s no need. I saved City Lord Rosen purely by chance, and besides, I also played a role in spreading the news of the Sprout cult to City Lord Rosen, so I can’t quite shrug off the responsibility."

Despite his heartache, Muse still waved his hand: "Take it. I’m giving you the signal tower not just as a simple thank-you gift; as you said, you have a significant role in this, so I need to contact you efficiently through this signal tower."

"And also, the matter regarding the Sprout cult is not just our Sky Mechanical City’s concern; it involves the entire Wizards’ Realm. That’s why I’m giving you the signal tower, hoping that if any intelligence emerges, you can help connect with Lord Reine."

After Muse finished speaking, he muttered quietly: How I wish your Barbarian Cave had installed a signal tower and built a Teleportation Array.

Angel: "..."

Angel actually wanted to say that if Dean Muse genuinely wanted to contact him, he could go to Fangling Hall to find his brother Lyon, as Lyon could enter the Wilderness of Dreams.

But after thinking it over, Angel decided not to say it, realizing pushing Lyon into the limelight might not be a good idea.

"If my research achieves results, I’ll return this signal tower to you then," Angel said.

Muse was momentarily stunned and then realized that Angel was referring to his research on ultra-long-distance information interaction. He nodded, "Okay, the Research and Development Institute’s display case is always waiting for your results to settle in."
