Chapter 1778: Section 1779: Leaflet
Upon learning that the Prophet Wizard had pinpointed Si Man’s location and arranged for the rescue, Helen’s eyes sparkled with excitement.
According to Angel, if Si Man could be successfully rescued, she would likely return to Hong Kui Square immediately.
It was this hopeful vision that led them to thank Angel profusely, as Xiao Liu helped the eager Helen walk toward Hong Kui Square.
Once Helen and Xiao Liu left, Angel also turned to depart.
Though his body walked down the empty long street under the night sky, his mind had drifted into the void.
Could City Lord Rosen find Si Man this time in the void? And what of the Seed believers? If found, how would City Lord Rosen deal with them? Would he obliterate them entirely or order their exile?
No matter the outcome, Angel hoped to resolve the Seed matter swiftly. The Southern Domain seemed to be improving; the Demon God issue was resolved, the Supernova Tournament revealed many burgeoning stars with talents aplenty—but this was only surface restoration; hidden dangers remained plentiful.
Add a Seed incident, and even the best forecasts would be spoiled.
Hence, Angel eagerly anticipated a perfect result from this covert assault.
...
After walking for a short while, Angel arrived on Ben Swick Street.
Due to the ominous atmosphere earlier that day, the streets of Sky Mechanical City had become rather desolate; however, Ben Swick Street was an exception—still ablaze with lights and abuzz with people.
And the reason for this bustling scene—
Angel looked up, gazing toward a towering tree several dozen meters tall. The focus was not the tree itself, but the large, complex pavilion built upon its trunk, branches, and leaves.
Even before Angel approached this "treehouse," he could vaguely detect a rich scent of Shulomon Fragrance.
That place was the Elysium Pavilion.
A venue offering "fun" specifically for Wizards. The "fun" here was not mere enjoyment; it carried connotations of darkness, distortion, perversion, and even blood and death.
It was precisely because of these hidden meanings that many Wizards, both male and female, flocked to the Elysium Pavilion.
Angel had no interest in the Elysium Pavilion; he came to Ben Swick Street after leaving the Infinite Battle Tower not to visit his estate but to purchase food, such as... dried fish, as he’d promised Toby earlier.
Due to the presence of the Elysium Pavilion, its influence gradually transformed Ben Swick Street into an entertainment and consumption district.
Apart from the Elysium Pavilion catering to desires, there were many other entertainment options, such as clothing stores, bars, bookstores, snack shops... There was even a large theater, though it hadn’t staged shows in a long time. Angel heard the high officials of Sky Mechanical City intended to renovate it into an arena.
After walking for a while, Angel spotted a small shop called Magic Food Square that sold both Transcendent ingredients and some semi-finished products made by culinary apprentices.
Some dried fish from Transcendent fish species were among them.
After a short while, Angel emerged from Magic Food Square, and though his hands remained empty, the Toby on his shoulder puffed up proudly, having gained quite a haul.
Having bought the dried fish, Angel took Toby for a walk around Ben Swick Street.
Soon Toby’s Snow Feather was stuffed with various delicacies, along with an abundance of unique fabrics and silks; Angel purchased some magazines in bookstores that chronicled wizard secrets.
Once they’d had enough of browsing, Angel prepared to leave with Toby.
With so many people on the street, Angel had activated the effect of Boundless Solitude from the moment he entered, reducing his presence, and naturally decided not to attract attention by flying out but to first leave Ben Swick Street and find a secluded place to fly.
However, just then, Angel encountered someone.
A young man leaning on a wooden cane emerged from the Elysium Pavilion’s door.
This person was none other than Oupulia, whom Angel had met not long ago at Rosen’s metal hall. It seemed he had come to the Elysium Pavilion immediately after leaving the Infinite Battle Tower.
Oupulia was visibly surprised to see Angel, then he coughed seriously, "Didn’t expect to encounter the Transcendental Wizard here; are you here for the Elysium Pavilion too?"
Angel: "I’m just passing by."
"Me too, just took a look inside."
Angel didn’t respond, merely detecting the potent fragrance on Oupulia revealed he hadn’t merely passed by or just looked.
However, since it had nothing to do with him, Angel simply nodded nonchalantly and prepared to leave.
Oupulia had no desire to engage in a deep conversation with Angel at the Elysium Pavilion’s entrance at that moment, so he also readied to leave.
Conveniently, they headed in the same direction. Oupulia was too embarrassed to choose another path, thus trailing after Angel for a while.
En route, the pair chatted about inconsequential topics.
Soon they arrived near a square.
This square served as the buffer zone in front of the large theater; the theater had long been inactive, turning this transition square into a potpourri area, not only where people gathered for fun, but also where many set up stalls to sell unnecessary items.
Angel planned to circumvent via the square’s right side to a small path to the outer street, while Oupulia intended to leave via the square’s left side.
Just as they prepared to part ways, the sound of jingly bells rang from a short distance.
Turning around, they saw a man dressed like a circus Joker advancing toward them, shaking a bell.
When this Joker reached them, he handed Angel and Oupulia a flyer with a smile, saying in a hushed voice, "Welcome to the theater performance."
After speaking, the Joker moved to the other side, distributing flyers to other individuals.
The theater? Performance? Angel raised an eyebrow, suspecting this Joker was promoting the theater’s plays via flyers.
Angel had no interest in the so-called theater performance; however, he paused when he looked at the flyer in his hand.
A familiar portrait was illustrated on the flyer.
Oupulia also noticed the portrait on the flyer and clicked his tongue, "Isn’t this the disciple of the Water Pattern Witch? Renting the theater for a performance? I recall her name is..."
"Sharley," Angel said softly.
The flyer depicted Sharley’s half-length portrait. She was clad in magician attire, with the shadow of a Magic Hat obscuring half her face, lending an eerie air. Sharley’s hands were raised—one holding a magician’s black wand, the other fanned out five playing cards... all a straight flush.
Beneath the portrait, a phrase was inscribed: Welcome to the Magic Hour.
