Chapter 1634: Section 1635: No Solution
Sanders had previously heard from Angel about the types of Mysterious Objects and immediately understood the intricacies involved.
So-called chaos actually means complete loss of control. These Mysterious Objects are difficult to be controlled by any means, and once you meet the criteria for their invasion, they will spread chaos incessantly.
Furthermore, their danger level is extremely high and could theoretically be limitless.
"But how could such an uncontrollable Mysterious Object exist in the Southern Domain?" Sanders was puzzled. This clearly shouldn’t be the case; if there really was an uncontrolled Mysterious Object nearby, could Yirong Country continue to reform and develop? Would Sky Mechanical City still be roaming around this area?
Angel: "The reason Mysterious Objects are called mysterious is that they are completely unknown to us. What seems to us an unreachable distance that we may never attain in this lifetime could, to them, be bridged in an instant. In fact, they might appear to be far away, yet they could also be right before our eyes."
Despite the contradictory and abstruse nature of Angel’s words, Sanders understood them.
"Do you mean it’s unpredictable, and it’s not actually in the Southern Domain?"
Angel pondered for a moment: "Or rather, you could think of it as the Dream Realm. It’s neither here nor there but exists everywhere. As long as you meet the characteristics of Enter Dream, you will enter it."
Upon hearing this, Sanders seemed to have thought of something.
On the other hand, Greya was full of question marks, completely clueless about what Angel was talking about: "What kind of riddle are you two trying to crack? What’s the mystery behind this? And what exactly is that Mysterious Object?"
Instead of explaining verbally, Angel directly handed a Handbook to Greya.
This Handbook, recorded by himself, detailed the classification of Mysterious Objects. It spelled out the meanings of "controllable, semi-uncontrollable, completely uncontrollable," and also contained some information about the Origin World, such as the Orderly Guild, and those whose profession it is to recover out-of-control items—the Mystic Hunters.
Greya began reading with confusion, but as she read on, her brows furrowed into a tight knot.
She had not anticipated that the uncontrollable Mysterious Objects could be so terrifying... Behind most uncontrollable Mysterious Objects were the lives of Mystic Hunters.
And the Mystic Hunters are almost all above the Legendary Realm.
Now Greya understood, if Irene’s disappearance was truly related to an uncontrollable Mysterious Object, then what Angel said about only Legends being qualified to investigate was indeed correct.
Greya slowly put down the Handbook, her face solemn: "How are you so certain that Irene’s case is connected to an uncontrollable Mysterious Object?"
Sanders trusted Angel’s judgment, but he too was curious about how Angel had come to that conclusion.
Angel slowly said: "Do you remember the Seed followers that Sharley mentioned?"
Greya nodded: "Of course." It was because Sharley mentioned Seed followers that Angel’s expression drastically changed and he immediately went to Paradow City to investigate Irene’s disappearance.
"You also know that during our time at Black Castle, I met a Legendary Wizard who inadvertently came to the Southern Domain."
"Frost." Sanders nodded, stating his name.
Greya was aware of Frost, although she hadn’t actually met him at the time as she was researching the Pure World Feast.
"He was in fact a Mystic Hunter. The information I know was all told to me by him. At that time, Frost gave me several examples when speaking about uncontrollable Mysterious Objects." Angel’s memory seemed to flash back to that night.
Uncontrollability refers to a state similar to a viral spread, a kind of chaos experienced by certain Mysterious Objects. Frost used the "Reincarnation Casket of the Undead" as an example to explain what an uncontrollable object was.
But the Reincarnation Casket is just one example.
"Uncontrollable Mysterious Objects can also be further subdivided," Angel recalled Frost’s words and continued: "For instance, ordinary uncontrollable objects, which Mystic Hunters have a chance of recovering."
"Next are the semi-unsolvable uncontrollable objects. If your strength is high enough and your luck is good, there is still a chance of successful recovery, but the probability is very low. Generally, when Mystic Hunters encounter semi-unsolvable uncontrollable objects, they choose to flee. Then they report to the Orderly Guild to see their response... Of course, the ultimate outcome is basically to ignore it and then issue a warning to the outside world."
"Lastly, there are the unsolvable uncontrollable objects. The chances of recovery are close to zero, and each unsolvable uncontrollable object has once obliterated a Miracle."
"Annihilating the miracle, could it be referring to..." Greya’s voice trembled slightly.
"The so-called miracle is exactly what you think it is. The Orderly Guild’s assessment of such unrestrained objects is..." Angel said, slowly lifting his head to look at Greya, and said something very familiar to her: "If you want to live, then don’t ask, don’t think, don’t speculate, and certainly don’t investigate."
This was the warning Angel had previously given to Allen.
Greya swallowed hard: "Are you saying that Irene’s disappearance is related to an unsolvable unrestrained object?"
Angel looked at Sanders and then at Greya, and nodded slowly.
"When Frost was explaining what unsolvable unrestrained objects are, he mentioned a file of an unrestrained object that was listed as forbidden and sealed by the Orderly Guild, that object is named—"
"Seed."
After Angel finished speaking, there was a moment of silence around them. The air was quiet for a long time until Greya broke the silence with a hoarse voice: "Is this unrestrained object called ’Seed’ the prime culprit behind Irene’s disappearance? Then it... what is its relation to the Seed cult followers, has it become a god?"
If it’s not a god, then why would there be followers who worship it?
"Whether it has become a god, I do not know. But, there is no shortage of mavericks in this world, some mavericks are in a positive light, but others are less commendable... In the Origin World, there is a group who call themselves Seed cult followers obsessively worshipping an unrestrained object, and equate the Seed’s disorderly assimilation with the Divine Country. And those who enter into this disorderly rhythm, name it as the incantation to go to the Divine Country."
"Clearly, these Seed cult followers have already affected the Southern Domain."
"I do not know if there are Seed cult followers in other parts of the Southern Domain, but the recent sensational disappearance cases in the diocese of Paradow City, as well as Irene’s disappearance, are all due to this group of Seed cult followers."
Unrestrained mysterious objects are not always far away from you, merely bypassing their location does not guarantee safety. Many unrestrained objects will draw you into their disorderly rhythm and eventually cause disorderly assimilation if you meet their conditions of invasion.
For example, some unrestrained objects have very simple conditions for invasion.
In a distant place, if you perform certain specific actions or say specific words, you will be pulled into the disorderly rhythm.
The condition for Seed’s invasion is the chanting of a specific sequence of syllables.
This sequence of syllables is very long, and without any apparent connection or logic. If you do not know the arrangement of these syllables, you are almost unlikely to be invaded by Seed.
However, the Seed cult followers spread the chanting method of these syllables as an incantation indiscriminately.
The patterning stones that Katrina was wiping earlier actually contained the complete incantation. However, the writing used Transcendent script, which Katrina herself could not recognize, mistaking it for merely a pattern.
But Irene, unfortunately, had bad luck. After Katrina wiped the patterning stone, during the period when the incantation was revealed, Irene entered the Seed church and saw that patterning stone.
And Angel was certain that Irene definitely had chanted that incantation.
Once Irene finished reading the incantation, she was instantly drawn into Seed’s disorderly rhythm. Before she even realized there was a problem, she was dragged into the world of Seed. In Frost’s words, it was —
’Welcome to my nightmare.’
It sounds coincidental, but that’s just the way it is.
Perhaps Irene herself could not have imagined that her disappearance, or rather the cessation of her life, was all due to a whim to buy a box of patterning stone powder she usually used?
Many things in life happen abruptly, catching you completely off guard.
In the blink of an eye, life arises and ceases.
Nobody can predict; perhaps an insignificant thought that flashes through your mind right now could change the course of your life.
