Chapter 1625: Section 1626 Demon Hunter Data

Wilderness of Dreams, Demonic Fiend laboratory.

Angel went to check on Frode’s experimental progress with the Demonic Fiends. Just in these few days, research on the Demonic Fiends had already broken through to specimen No. 13. In terms of speed, it could be described as extremely fast.

Now, Demonic Fiend No. 13 had also entered the research phase of combat skills, with Tullas sparring against No. 13.

The experiment was proceeding vigorously. Angel confirmed that his presence was not temporarily needed, and thus he returned to the upper level of the laboratory. Taking Frode’s most recent report, he began to read.

These reports were a summary of information on the previous 12 Demonic Fiends, as well as the problems encountered during the research process.

Frode had been mixed up in the Wizards’ Realm for a long time; he could be said to be even more proficient than Angel in terms of research topics and experimental records. Reading this report, Angel couldn’t help but nod in agreement repeatedly.

Half an hour later, Angel put down the report. Based on the current content of the report, the Demonic Fiend laboratory could basically be left in Frode’s hands now. His meticulous handling of the experiments was very much in place.

Only in the capturing and suppressing of the Demonic Fiends did Angel still need to lend a hand for now.

However, these issues could all be resolved in the future.

As Angel was deep in thought, the sound of knocking entered his ears.

"Come in." As Angel’s words fell, the door opened, and Frode, dressed in a white research robe, walked in.

"I was just thinking of you, and here you are." Angel gestured for Frode to take a seat: "How is the experiment with Demonic Fiend No. 13 going?"

Frode nodded: "It’s completed. Demonic Fiend No. 13 can attack opponents using sound, which is quite a special ability. However, it’s a pity that based on the current preliminary selection of the Sin Hunting Group, no one has yet been able to match with No. 13 Demonic Fiend."

"Aside from No. 13 Demonic Fiend, are there any Demonic Fiends that have found a match?" Angel pointed to the report on the table.

Frode: "Yes, there are 7 kinds of Demonic Fiends that simply enhance oneself. They start with improvements in speed, defense, strength, and so on. Any resident of the Dream Realm with a suitable spirit can match with such Demonic Fiends."

In short, Demonic Fiends with special skills are not easy to find a match for. But those that enhance oneself are relatively easy to match with.

Of course, this so-called ’degree of affinity’ is just a virtual concept. In fact, anyone can fuse with a Demonic Fiend with special skills, but it is difficult to exert the Demonic Fiend’s own power because it does not match one’s personal attributes.

Angel: "More than half of the Demonic Fiends are fusible; that’s not bad. Once the Sin Hunting Group is fully established, it will be a considerable force."

Frode: "Indeed, that’s the case. However, our experiment is still somewhat lacking."

"Lacking Demon Hunter data?" Having finished reading the report, Angel had already noticed it. The report was very comprehensive, but it only established a file for Demonic Fiends, without a word about the other system—the Demon Hunters.

"Yes, even though research on Demonic Fiends has progressed to No. 13, there are yet no Demon Hunters post-fusion born to record the information of Demon Hunters. This means the reports are just superficial, lacking soul."

All their previous experiments were conducted in service of post-fusion scenarios with Demonic Fiends. Can Demon Hunters properly control the release degree of Demonic Fiends? Can Demon Hunters establish a physical file library with fused Demonic Fiends? Can Demon Hunters and Demonic Fiends achieve a long-term symbiotic relationship? ...and so on, all these questions need Demon Hunters to provide answers.

"I see, it’s indeed time for Demon Hunters to make an appearance." Angel nodded: "What’s your plan for the fusion, and who will be undergoing it?"

"Sir Sabel and Demonic Fiend No. 7."

The No. 7 Demonic Fiend, that is the same one Angel helped to test last time, a huge disc covered with tentacles, its mouth filled with countless tusks when opened, from a distance it looks like some sort of bizarre chrysanthemum creature.

The appearance of this Demonic Fiend is quite unpleasant, but it has to be said, it matches very well with the combat style of Sir Sabel.

Sir Sabel typically adopts a defensive stance waiting to strike, and the No. 7 Demonic Fiend, while having enhanced its defense, also can counterattack with its tentacles. After their fusion, Sir Sabel is estimated to become the top defender of Originheart City. Moreover, as a defender-warrior, Angel had personally tested it, so he knew very well how strong the power of the Demonic Fiend’s tentacles was.

"What about Sir Sabel’s willingness?" Angel felt this arrangement was acceptable, but the form of the No. 7 Demonic Fiend could cause psychological damage, its ugliness was to an extreme; would Sir Sabel really be willing to fuse with it? After all, the appearance of a future Demon Hunter would surely change along with the Demonic Fiend during battle.

"Sir Sabel has already agreed," Frode said this with some relief, fortunate that Sir Sabel was not a person who cared about appearances.

"Then alright, let’s try to seal the No. 7 Demonic Fiend into Sir Sabel’s body later."

After arranging for the Demon Hunters, Angel discussed with Frode about the experiments of the past few days, particularly inquiring about Labu’s situation. After all, Labu is currently the only one who might inherit the Authority of the Mist of Sin.

According to what Frode said, Labu has already been brought to the Demonic Fiend laboratory.

He has learned some things about Demonic Fiends, and currently, he is acting as a research assistant, following Frode and working on research.

"From your interactions during this period, do you think Labu is qualified to take on the Authority of the Mist of Sin?" Angel asked.

After serious contemplation, Frode nodded: "He should be able to. From what we’ve seen so far, there are no issues with Labu’s character. Moreover, based on my observation, he’s a person with a strong sense of responsibility."

"Regarding the possibility of the citizens of Originheart City being affected by the Mist of Sin, his level of concern seems to be nearly as much as Monroe’s."

Monroe is the City Lord of Originheart City, naturally very worried that the Mist of Sin could bring harm to the city. But Labu is currently just an ordinary resident of the Dream Realm, and the fact that his level of concern can compare to Monroe’s is quite interesting.

"Why?" Angel asked curiously.

"Because for him, Originheart City is akin to the ideal sanctuary of his dreams. Moreover, there are people here whom he cares about deeply."

The person Labu cares about most, of course, is his younger brother Lado.

He wishes to do everything within his power to provide Lado with a good living environment. Originheart City is the place he has always longed for. Naturally, Labu would not want any external forces to ruin Originheart City.

Because he is concerned, he could unleash boundless power even on the brink of danger.

Frode: "From all aspects, Labu seems quite suited for the Authority of the Mist of Sin. However, he has only just come into contact with Demonic Fiends, and his emotions are still somewhat unstable; we could continue to observe for a little while longer."

Angel had already decided to bestow the Authority of the Mist of Sin upon Labu, but since Frode had said this, he thought he would still have to wait a while before he could fully let go of the responsibility.

After finishing the conversation, Frode prepared to leave to inform Sir Sabel to get ready for the fusion.

Just before Frode left, Angel suddenly thought of something.

"By the way, you’ve been around the Wizards’ Realm for quite some time, what do you know about Paradow City?"
