Chapter 320: Chapter 203: Dual Secret Realms_4

Zhou Xuan moved.

The Divine Armor in his hand gleamed with golden light.

In the next instant, Zhou Xuan’s figure flashed to a position just one foot behind Lao Dao Bazi.

He unleashed his formidable perception, locking onto his opponent’s ankle, wrist, shoulder blade, and clavicle...

Bone Teeth emerged from Zhou Xuan’s sleeve, first severing Lao Dao Bazi’s tendons in both feet in an instant, then stabbing towards his wrist.

Lao Dao Bazi was completely focused on his fierce battle with the Painter and paid no attention to what was behind him. He only reacted after Zhou Xuan severed the tendons in both his feet in that fleeting moment, forcing himself to turn around to block Bone Teeth.

"Clang, clang, clang..."

Bone Teeth launched a ferocious and sharp assault against Lao Dao Bazi, like lightning and torrential rain, each strike following the other — diagonal stabs, downward slashes, horizontal sweeps, overhead presses — savage to the point of utter irrationality.

Even more relentless than the torrential waves of attacks was the sheer number of Bone Teeth’s murderous thrusts.

Lao Dao Bazi, a veteran wielder of blades, had trained for years in the "Using Tools as Weapons" style from his Tangkou. He held deep insight into the same "Using Tools as Weapons" style of the Tattoo Hall.

From Zhou Xuan’s method of wielding Bone Teeth, he could tell this was the fifth incense technique under "Using Tools as Weapons" — "Divine Weapon Leaves Hand."

This technique utilized perception to determine Bone Teeth’s attack targets and routes in advance.

The higher the perception, the greater the number of targets one could determine. However, even for Lao Dao Bazi, six targets was his absolute limit.

Zhou Xuan’s Bone Teeth had already unleashed nine consecutive attacks.

"Ten, eleven, twelve!"

The more Lao Dao Bazi counted Bone Teeth’s strikes, the more stunned he grew, a despairing wail echoing in his heart:

"Such terrifying perception?"

His tendons were severed in both feet, and earlier his spine had been ignited by the Painter. Now, his only weapon was a Bamboo Leaf Blade, with which he had barely weathered Zhou Xuan’s twelve consecutive strikes — his tiger’s mouth had been shaken to the point of bleeding.

But Zhou Xuan had no intention of stopping. He gestured towards Bone Teeth — "Divine Weapon Return Hand." As Bone Teeth returned to his hand, he locked onto Lao Dao Bazi once again, his perception not only formidable but astonishingly resilient and unyielding.

Almost without rest, Bone Teeth’s second wave of assaults began anew.

This time, Bone Teeth was even more ferocious, its trajectory swifter, whereas Lao Dao Bazi was utterly spent.

With the dynamic of strength shifting dramatically, the battle was completely one-sided.

Twelve more strikes from Bone Teeth severed Lao Dao Bazi’s wrist tendons, clavicle, shoulder sockets, and kneecaps in their entirety.

Even the Painter, who had turned to face the Suffering Scholar, couldn’t help but twitch his mouth in astonishment:

"Brother Zhou is indeed ruthless. Earlier, I thought he was boasting."

This hunting plan had been devised by Zhou Xuan in the tea house.

Due to the Suffering Faction’s Bone Elder being unusually special, endowed with extraordinary regenerative ability, and possessing the chilling ability to disperse his physical body as a shower of blood and flesh in desperate moments, ensuring his escape wherever a fragment of his body fled...

Driving away a Bone Elder wasn’t difficult, but completely killing one required the collaboration of several individuals.

Thus, Zhou Xuan divided the hunt into two waves.

In the first wave, he and the Painter directly confronted the Overseer, the Suffering Scholar, and Lao Dao Bazi.

The two resolved to quickly deal with the weakest Lao Dao Bazi, effectively scaling down the opposing combatants’ numbers.

Here, Zhou Xuan had instructed the Painter to merely inflict minor wounds on Lao Dao Bazi and draw his attention — leaving the rest to him.

He was confident he could disable Lao Dao Bazi without taking his life.

In the second wave, Gu Ling, Li Chengfeng, and Lv Mingkun would enter the fray, along with the Painter. With two Sixth-incense-levels and one Seventh-incense-level, it would be relatively simple for them to swiftly suppress the Suffering Scholar and Overseer. Then, Zhou Xuan would ensure the Scholar didn’t escape by dispersing into a blood rain.

Upon hearing the plan, the Painter voiced his objections.

The objections were twofold: first, he feared Zhou Xuan’s incense fire level was too low to ultimately overpower a weakened Lao Dao Bazi; second, he thought the Suffering Scholar should simply be killed outright — letting him disperse into a blood rain would mean no one could capture him.

"Both the Suffering Scholar and Lao Dao Bazi must be taken alive."

These two had committed unspeakable crimes — one had flayed the uncle of Lv Mingkun, and the other had murdered Lin Xia, Feng Xigui, and other Liao Ghosts.

If they were allowed to die easily, it would be far too lenient for them.

"Don’t worry, Old Hua. Since I’ve devised this plan, I’m fully confident it will work."

The Painter had initially been skeptical; now he partly believed.

Zhou Xuan, despite his exceptionally low incense level, had demonstrated astonishing perception with his "Divine Weapon Leaves Hand" technique — launching twelve definitive strikes ferociously and rendering Lao Dao Bazi useless.

"No wonder he single-handedly killed the Zhi Jia Master, the Zhou Family’s Nuo God — truly unexpected."

The Painter, despite being distracted while musing over Zhou Xuan, kept his hands busy. He formed a sword gesture with his right hand and positioned it against his forehead, chanting the "Red Refining Divine Spell."

"Blood shining over the body, reflecting upon me, red refinement intertwined, Dao Qi surging—"

The Painter chanted the seventh-tier spell of Bone Elder, his figure enveloped with blood-red Dao Talismans.

Meanwhile, Zhou Xuan’s other allies began to converge.

From the gaps in the window, a stream of blood aura seeped inside, charging toward the Suffering Scholar.

A lantern flew in from the ventilation near the roof.

Pasted on the lantern was a piece of human skin.

The skin belonged to Lv Mingkun. The lantern was controlled by Li Chengfeng. The blood aura was Gu Ling’s dispersed body manifesting.

With Lao Dao Bazi neutralized, the hunting squad regrouped quickly, aiming to subdue the Suffering Scholar at the fastest possible speed.

For them, this posed little difficulty, especially with the Overseer absent.

Gu Ling’s blood aura encased the Suffering Scholar, his flesh instantly burned and melted.

The blood aura condensed, revealing Gu Ling. She bit the tip of her tongue and spat a stream of Taoist Fire towards the Suffering Scholar.

Flames engulfed the sky.

Li Chengfeng remotely manipulated the lantern, fusing its fire with the surrounding blaze, intensifying the flames and reducing the Suffering Scholar to white bones in an instant.

With his remarkable blood and flesh regeneration ability and the protective blessings of the Bone Elder’s "Protective Divine Spell," the white bones writhed and struggled in the flames in a last-ditch effort for regeneration.

Yet, evidently, his regeneration speed could not keep pace with the burning flames. Left with no other option, the Suffering Scholar dispersed his flesh, transforming into a rain of blood, attempting to flee.

The Painter, who had been chanting the Red Refining Divine Spell countless times, had been awaiting precisely this moment.

His sword-gesture directed at Gu Ling’s Taoist Fire, evoking nine crimson Red Refining Fire Snakes from the flames. They slithered fiercely along the fiery paths towards the Suffering Scholar.

Just as the Suffering Scholar transformed into a blood rain, the nine fire snakes expanded their forms rapidly, resembling chains as they bound the blood rain tightly.

Simultaneously, the dispersed blood rain was forcibly reunited, crashing to the ground and morphing back into his original form.

"Brother Zhou, my Red Refining Fire Snakes can’t hold him for long... It’s up to you now," the Painter exclaimed toward Zhou Xuan.

Though he spoke aloud, the Painter secretly grumbled to himself — capturing a Bone Elder was far too troublesome. Better to kill them outright; it would save everyone trouble later in case they managed to escape.

Unhurriedly, Zhou Xuan stepped forward, his figure looming before the Suffering Scholar, a grim smile plastered on his face: "Suffering Scholar, the atrocities you’ve committed against the Liao Ghost — I will return them a hundredfold. Life is long, and I will see to it you’re imprisoned and tormented slowly."

"Zhou Xuan, you’re formidable, surpassing the limits of your incense fire level. But you... cannot contain me. Not even the Painter can hold me."

The crimson snakes coiling around the Suffering Scholar visibly paled, indicating that he was about to break free of the binding.

"Your perspective is limited. Let me broaden it for you." Zhou Xuan mocked the Suffering Scholar as he called: "Well Spirit, come and bind this sacrifice."

With his silent command, a massive blood-red vortex appeared beneath him.

The vortex spun rapidly, emanating an overwhelming, majestic presence. Even Gu Ling and the Painter instinctively retreated a few steps, as if the vortex itself was a monumental danger.

"Blood Well?" The Painter recognized the vortex’s source, his expression filled with disbelief.

"So you’re a Blood Well Spirit Communicator." The Painter declared but immediately felt not all was as it seemed: "You can summon the Blood Well... implying it resides within your Secret Realm. Are you actually carrying both the Blood Well and Divine Revelation dual Secret Realms?"

In an instant, the Painter began to grasp why the God Traveling Department of Ping Shui Prefecture would collectively serve as Zhou Xuan’s Daoist Guardians...
