Chapter 257: Chapter 185: Battle of East Market_4

"The people of the Liao Ghosts dare to go to East Market Street? Leave no one alive."

Lord Bei said.

"Lord Bei, the use of the Golden Armor requires the agreement of all three masters."

"Qing Feng wasn’t involved in the kidnapper’s affair. How do you expect him to agree? If I say use the Golden Armor, you use it. If anything goes wrong, the Master will answer to the Bone Elder Association. What are you afraid of? Use it."

"Understood."

Lu Yusheng agreed and walked into the Tangkou’s main shrine. Kneeling on both knees in front of the Ancestor Master’s portrait, he said, "There are Abnormal people in Mingjiang manipulating yin and yang. Disciple Lu Yusheng beseeches the Ancestor Master to summon the Golden Armor to capture these Abnormal people and bring them to the hall."

After speaking, Lu Yusheng flicked his wrist. A stick of incense stood upright beside him and flew toward the Ancestor Master’s portrait.

When the portrait sensed the offering of incense, a golden mist arose. As the mist dissipated, a Golden Armor figure surged forth and struck Lu Yusheng, pushing him back a full foot.

Faint golden traces appeared on Lu Yusheng’s palms and face.

"Thank you, Ancestor Master. I will not fail to carry out the mission."

Lu Yusheng then headed to the War Preparation Hall, retrieved his Magic Artifact, donned a black robe to wrap himself tightly, and strode out of the Main Hall.

First, he would eliminate the Liao Ghosts, then use the Golden Armor to kill Zhou Xuan.

That was the plan Lu Yusheng had set for himself.

...

Since Zhou Xuan and Lv Mingkun hadn’t come back for dinner, Little Fuzi prepared tofu soup and greens for himself and went out to buy two buns for supper.

Yun Ziliang, who wasn’t used to eating vegetarian food, had gone to the East Market Street to buy roast chicken. It had been over twenty minutes, and he still hadn’t returned.

"Grandpa Yun takes so long just to buy roast chicken?"

Little Fuzi, holding his tofu and vegetable soup, sat at the door sipping from a bowl. Finally, he saw Yun Ziliang jogging back.

"Ah, Xiao Zhou and Lao Wu picked the worst time to be out. They’re missing all the action."

"What happened?"

"A kidnapper group has arrived! On the archway at East Market Street, they’ve nailed a human skin with a row of bloody words: ’At eight, kill Lao He!’"

Yun Ziliang pointed at the closed shops on the street and said, "Look at them. When have they ever closed so early? No one dares open their doors when the kidnappers are coming."

"What about Lao He? He’s so pitiful."

"You’d better worry about yourself first. Shut your door."

Yun Ziliang rushed back into the shop.

"Grandpa Yun, don’t you love excitement? With the kidnappers here, you should be even more eager to watch."

"Excitement my ass! Xiao Zhou and Lao Wu are not here. You think I want to go out and get myself killed?"

Hearing how dangerous it sounded, Little Fuzi put down his bowl and went to the doorway of Sister Cui’s house across the street. He called out, "Sister Cui, close your business and take Mu Hua inside to hide. The kidnappers are coming tonight."

"What? They’re coming for Lao He?"

"Yes, I heard Grandpa Yun say they’ve already nailed a bloody message written on human skin to the archway."

"Then I’d better close up shop."

In a panic, Sister Cui began fastening the planks to her door, while Little Fuzi ran back to his house, shut his door, and bolted it.

...

On a small hill overlooking East Market Street stood a man in a long gown with tea-colored glasses. At his feet were two long wooden boxes.

The entirety of East Market Street lay in his view.

He had been sent here by Zhou Lingyi to clear out the Ancient Tattoo Clan on this street.

His tea-colored glasses were a Magic Artifact,

capable of seeing through incense fire levels below six offerings.

He had waited here all day but had not seen anyone suspicious with a high incense fire level.

Yet, he did spot forty or fifty Liao Ghost members carrying Paper Puppets as they entered East Market Street.

"Quite a united bunch,"

the man commented.

The Liao Ghosts were a small Tangkou, with few experts. Their strength lay in their unpredictability. Among this group of nearly fifty, over half had only three incense offerings, and the rest had four. Not a single one reached five offerings.

"Knowing it’s a trap, they still dare to come. Admirable courage."

The man crossed his arms and spoke.

"I wonder if the kidnapper’s Yan Zhongdao will show up... Hm... the arrivals aren’t kidnappers—it’s Wuzuo."

The man’s sharp eyes caught sight of six human skins flying off the western hill.

The skins floated down to the door of the Zhou Family’s Jingyi Shop, transforming into six individuals, who boldly walked toward Lao He’s house.

This was a technique of the Wuzuo.

"The kidnappers aren’t coming themselves but are sending the Wuzuo? Among the Wuzuo, there are three with five incense offerings. The Liao Ghosts probably can’t withstand this."

The man had no intention of intervening. He had no interest in getting involved in Tangkou turf wars.

...

Zhou Xuan and Lv Mingkun drove to the western gate of East Market Street, only to find the enormous iron gate shut.

"This gate actually closes?"

Zhou Xuan checked his pocket watch. It was only eight-ten. There was no way it should be shut so early.

Just then, a nearby window cracked open slightly, and a neighbor familiar with Zhou Xuan whispered a warning, "Brother Zhou, leave quickly. The kidnappers are inside killing someone, and no one dares stop them!"

"The kidnappers are really here today?"

Zhou Xuan shot a glance at Lv Mingkun.

Lv Mingkun’s right hand conjured a human skin, which he flung through the gap in the iron gate.

Seconds later, the Fifth Senior Brother appeared beside the human skin, opened the iron gate, drove Zhou Xuan’s car through, and locked the gate again.

"At last, the kidnappers are here. I’ve been itching for this."

Lv Mingkun’s anticipation sharpened, his blade-like intent intensifying.

When Zhou Xuan’s car arrived at the Zhou Family’s Jingyi Shop, Zhou Xuan knocked on the door.

The door opened.

"Young Master, you’re back. The kidnappers are here..."

"I know!"

Zhou Xuan entered, grabbed a stack of human skins, and stuffed them into his pocket. To perform divination, fresh human skins were needed. The Sukuna Hand he crafted earlier had been used once and was now useless—it had to be re-made.

"Little Fuzi, lock the door. No matter what happens, don’t come out."

"Wait for me! I’m coming to watch the action, too." Buoyed by the presence of Zhou Xuan and Lv Mingkun, Yun Ziliang felt emboldened and followed them out.

Lv Mingkun tilted his head back and closed his eyes.

"Fifth Senior Brother, let’s go—time to lawfully and reasonably cut down some kidnappers!"

"They’re not kidnappers. Those aren’t kidnappers—they’re Wuzuo. I can smell the stench of Wuzuo!"

Lv Mingkun opened his eyes, and the flames of hatred burned wildly within.
