Chapter 46: Honeymoon (Part 1)

"Uhm..."

I woke up from the rays of the morning light and the warmth of the comfortable bed.

Wait... warm bed? Since when did the bed have its own temperature?

I opened my eyes only to be welcomed by Agent Helios’ body embracing mine. His arms were tightly wrapped around me, and my head leaned on his chest. What’s more, I was hugging him back in such a comfortable position as if I... liked it!

My eyes widened the moment I saw that, and I quickly freed myself from him. Were we hugging like that the entire night? Like a normal couple? W-what in the world happened?

I tried to recall everything that had happened as I shook my head in disapproval.

’Right. The wedding is done. We kissed and exchanged rings and all that...’

Thinking about that, I glanced at the pink diamond ring on my finger. It was beautiful, and its perfectly cut surface reflected the sun’s rays, producing wonderful colors.

’After that, we had the reception and met many people. Then, said goodbyes to them and went straight to the airport to ride a private jet. And now... we’re supposed to be on the first day of our honeymoon in some tropical country with nice beaches where the Elites often go to.’

Yeah, that’s what happened. But we were so tired by the time we came that our first night became a sleeping session—one that involved nightmares—at least for me. Besides, we’re not really having a first night. There’s no way I would do "that" with him.

’But then again... why was I sleeping beside him?’

I scanned my eyes throughout the entire room. If I remember correctly, we agreed that this was my assigned room for the first day of the honeymoon. I couldn’t be mistaken, since I specifically chose the room facing the beach and had a more feminine design. Plus, I could see my purse on the couch.

’In that case, he sneaked into my room, didn’t he?’

I glanced back at Agent Helios, still peacefully sleeping despite his unbuttoned shirt. Did he not feel cold wearing only that for the whole night in an air-conditioned room?

’Hmm... maybe that’s why he was hugging me tightly.’

As my newly awake mind tried to process things, it was only then that I remembered what really happened last night. I recalled the moment I was having a hard time breathing because of my damn nightmare until someone hugged me and comforted me until I fell asleep.

’So that was him, huh? Hmm... that’s nice of him, I guess. That, or he just didn’t want me to die since I’m still useful for the mission?’

"How long will you keep staring at me?" he suddenly spoke in his unusual husky, morning voice.

Grunting, he opened his eyes and got up from the bed. The sun’s light illuminated the faint drops of sweat from his slim yet perfectly toned body. Turning to me, he tilted his head and waited for my answer.

"Well, I was busy pondering why you’re in my bed, sleeping beside me," I answered him as I averted my eyes from his body. "But I remember it now, so uhm... t-thank you. And during the wedding, too. I kinda lost it a little, but... thank you."

A faint chuckle escaped his mouth.

"You’re welcome. It’s nice hearing you say those words once in a while."

"Shut up," I grunted. "Anyway, I’m hungry. We better eat first before we do our mission today."

"Yeah," he nodded. "And just so you know, we don’t have servants for the entire trip since we’re supposed to be on our honeymoon. The bodyguards are the only ones left guarding from a distance, so we are free to carry out our plan."

That’s right. Project Honey Trap starts today, and our first target—Ms. Ma-Ri Choi, the only daughter of Mr. Roy Choi, the owner of "Smart Home". It’s an international retail holding company that deals mainly in furniture and household goods.

According to our leads, they have traces of transactions with a heinous group running "pyramid scams" all over Korea. Our first task was to find evidence of that so we could file a case against them and take them down from the roots. Without proper backing, their group will collapse, and that’s our main goal.

"Ma-Ri Choi..." I mumbled her name as I tried to recall her details based on the report shared with us at Mythos. "She didn’t attend our wedding because she was busy, right?"

"Busy flirting, yes. She’s a promiscuous woman and enjoys sleeping with handsome men. We can use that info to our advantage and gather intel from her."

Judging by what he said, I replied, raising one of my eyebrows.

"So... you’re planning to sleep with her to get intel?"

He scoffed as if it was the most ridiculous thing he heard.

"Me? Sleep with such a disgusting woman? You’re making me laugh."

"Well, the way you said it kinda implied—"

"Never. Besides, I’m supposed to be a loyal husband. Do you actually want me to cheat on you?"

"Huh? Of course not—wait, what I mean is—"

"Oh, you don’t want a cheating husband, huh? Alright. Don’t worry, I won’t."

Ugh. Look at him teasing me again.

"No. What I meant to say was... I don’t care!" I snapped at him.

He chuckled, seeing me pissed off.

"Ugh. Anyway—how are you planning to gain intel if that’s not the case?"

"There are a lot of ways, but the easiest would be to seduce her."

"Oookay. So you will seduce her, gain the intel we need, and without the sleeping part?"

"Exactly."

"Exactly, how?" I pressed on. "You’re not planning to torture her, are you? That’s going to risk—"

"Ugh..." he sighed and rolled his eyes. "I’m not in the mood to explain, so just follow my lead later, okay?"

"How do you expect me to follow you if you won’t even explain it first?"

"You’ll see later. Besides, I’m still in command, so you don’t have the right to question my actions and decisions."

Alas, he smirked at me like the devil once more. He’s back to his usual rude and wicked self. One minute he’s kind and caring, and in another, he’s back to being evil. Why am I not surprised?

"Right. Whatever you say, BOSS."

I snorted and rolled my eyes, just like he did.

"Good. Now, let’s get ready, shall we?"

And so, our morning began.
