Chapter 41: How to Pacify Him

***

[Agent Helios POV]

’Seriously, this woman! Here I am trying to lecture her about her wrongdoing, and she just kisses me? Does she actually think some measly kiss is enough to pacify me? I’m an intellectual person, and I don’t find such ridiculous things important or amusing enough to wash my anger away! I’m not falling for such—’

My mind spouted countless words about how ridiculous the kiss was, but the moment her lips touched mine... it stopped. Like bubbles in the air, it popped into nothingness.

"Uhmm..."

Her soft moans as we kissed were music to my ears. Soon enough, I found myself drowning in the softness of her lips. Its smooth and warm surface made me want to have more of it.

Yes. More...

Before I knew it, I was already devouring her whole mouth, and my hands clenched tightly on her waist and the back of her head, brushing her smooth hair. My breath turned heavy, and my body felt hot.

Alas, I’ve been ensnared.

’Huh? W-What happened? I was furious just a moment ago... but why is my heart suddenly... so calm?’

Indeed why? And why her? I had met countless beautiful women before, willing to give themselves to me with just a word. Some of them were even more beautiful than her, but they never fascinated me enough to make me want to kiss them. Suddenly this woman comes along, becomes my partner, and kisses me like she abhors me, yet I... I want it?

’No! There’s no way that’s the case. Maybe I’m already at that age where my body is longing for sexual satisfaction. It’s normal since I’m a man and an adult. I’ve never done it all these years, that’s why something as simple as her kiss is shaking me up. It’s just pent-up frustration. It will go away if I exercise more since my energy will be spent there. Yes, that’s what I should do. It seems that I’m lacking training these days.’

I wasn’t sure how long we kissed, but when I felt that my heart would explode, I let go of her lips and gently pushed her face away from mine. When I did, she turned to my ears and whispered to me...

"So... you like kissing me that much, huh? To the point that it’s calming you down?"

Ugh. Of course, she’d get back at me for what happened.

"Hmp!" I scoffed. "It’s normal for a kiss to have calming effects. Didn’t you learn that during training? It was discussed in the Art of Seduction course as well. All intimate act produces dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins in the brain that promote positive feelings like pleasure, happiness, and even love. So don’t mistake that it was specifically your kiss that calmed me down. It’s a normal body reaction, which only means there’s nothing special about you or what you did."

"Really?" she replied, smirking and raising one of her eyebrows. "Alright. Let’s say that it is indeed a normal body reaction towards an intimate act. But still... why did you let me kiss you?"

"Huh?"

"We’re alone, so we don’t need to pretend like a lovey-dovey couple. You also said you hated kissing, so you could have just pushed me away. Why didn’t you push me away? Instead, you kissed me back, and you enjoyed it."

"T-that’s because..." I struggled to find words to refute her. "Well, I can ask you the same thing. Why did you kiss me in the first place? Obviously, you’re the one who likes kissing me so much. Ahh... what a lewd woman you are."

"H-Huh?! No way! I just tried it out since when we were at the boutique earlier, you were nagging me, and you only calmed down when I kissed you. I was just testing out my theory! It turns out I’m right."

"If you’re familiar with how the body works, there’s no need to test your theory. Just admit it. You like kissing me that’s why you did it."

Ahhh, at last, I turned the situation around. Her face turned pink, unable to refute what I said. My lips curved into a confident smirk, knowing I was winning this argument.

"Don’t worry. I won’t take it against you. After all, I really am a very handsome man. No woman can resist me to the point that they would do anything to bed me. So, I won’t judge you. It’s normal to fall prey to my charms."

Her flustered face turned sour in an instant. She scoffed and rolled her eyes as she sighed, unable to accept what I said.

"You know, Mr. Manipulator-who’s-so-good-at-turning-things-around," she replied to me with much disgust in her tone, "if I would fall prey to anyone’s charms, YOU would be the last person. There is absolutely NO way that I’ll be attracted to you. So dream on. And just to clarify, I really am just testing out my theory, and I don’t care if you believe me or not. Besides, do you actually think I like your kiss? Ugh."

I stepped in closer to her and stared into her eyes.

"Really? You don’t like it? Even if... your knees get weak when I kiss you wildly?"

"... As you said," she replied, averting her eyes from mine, "it’s a normal body reaction. Don’t take it to heart. It doesn’t mean anything."

"Hah. Alright. In the same way, it doesn’t mean anything to me, too. Are we clear on that?"

"Crystal clear."

"Good. Now, let’s drop this matter and wait for the verdict of the chiefs tomorrow. They will decide whether you get a demerit or not or get sanctioned for your actions today. As for me, I’ll take my much-needed rest. Goodnight, partner."

"Hmf! That’s how it should have been. Why did you have to nag me?" she murmured, but it was still loud enough for me to hear. "Sweet dreams, partner. Don’t dream of me in your sleep!"

What did she say? This woman really knows how to piss me off.

Speaking of dreams, how I hope I don’t get another one of "those" dreams—and not with her again.

But then... just as my body betrayed me earlier, my mind betrayed me, too.

That night... I had another wet dream—with her.

"Arghhh... f*ck this."
