Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Shocked[GTG]

"As some of you might know," Ms. Amelia began, her voice a soothing yet fluent tone, honed from years of captivating students. "Wyndham Leavenworth proposed the theory of mana. Imagine mana like a lifeblood, coursing through our very being, just as water flows through rivers and streams. The mana pool, then, acts as the vessel for this vital essence. Each of us possesses a pool of a certain size, ranging from a mere trickle held within a clay cup to a vast reservoir contained within a colossal iron tank."

Ms. Amelia gestured with a well-manicured hand. "The amount of mana this vessel can hold is directly related to its size. Try to cram too much water into a tiny cup, and what happens? It spills over, right? The same principle applies to mana. Attempt to accumulate more mana than your pool can accommodate, and you’ll experience an overflow. This can be a perilous situation, as it leaves the individual unable to maintain control over their own core, the very heart of their supernatural abilities."

"Just like water flowing from a wellspring," Ms. Amelia continued, her eyes exuding indifference, "the amount of mana an attack consumes depends on the amount available in the mana pool. If you expend too much mana in a single, explosive attack, you risk completely depleting your reserves after just a few attempts. In the heat of battle, such a scenario could spell disaster."

She gestured at a holographic image made of mana. "The body adapts to this, forming smaller mana veins for those with limited mana pools and larger, sturdier veins for those blessed with greater capacity. However, this is where a problem arises. Smaller mana veins mean a lower supply of mana can flow through them at any given time, resulting in a weaker overall output. This principle applies in reverse for those with larger mana pools."

Standing on the podium, bathed in the soft glow of enchanted lamps, was Ms. Amelia. A matured elegance emanated from her.

Her long, silver hair cascaded down her back in a shimmering waterfall, contrasting starkly with the sleek black dress that clung to her curves. The dress was practically bursting open, struggling to contain her full E-cup bossom, and though elegant, it did little to hide the subtle sway of her hips as she paced back and forth, explaining the intricacies of mana manipulation.

This was a dangerous sight for the male students, a distraction from the supposed learning environment.

For many in the room, this was what made theory class all the more captivating. Today, however, not everyone was paying attention to Ms. Amelia’s mesmerizing movements. Their attention was snagged by an impossible sight: Ryan.

Ryan occupied a seat at the middle section of the class, strategically positioned to offer a sliver of invisibility from Ms. Amelia’s watchful gaze. However, his current predicament was far from expected. Nestled against his arm, practically clinging to him like a furry, love-struck koala, was Helen. A wide, beatific smile stretched across her face, a stark contrast to the bewildered whispers erupting around them.

"What the heck am I seeing? Isn’t that Helen?!" a voice hissed, laced with disbelief.

"This can’t be real," another muttered, a curse word escaping their lips in a strangled gasp.

"How can that weakass loser hold her like that?" someone else grumbled, their voice thick with a potent blend of envy and outrage.

The situation was a complete misunderstanding, a reversal of roles entirely unseen by the students. Yet, Ryan found himself oddly satisfied by this. Here was Helen, an undisputed powerhouse, someone capable of reducing him to dust with a flick of her wrist, currently radiating a warmth that defied logic.

A strange euphoria bubbled within him, an intoxicating sensation of possessing something utterly unattainable. He reveled in the shocked gasps and envious glares, basking in this fleeting illusion of absolute power and dominance..

The instant he walked towards her she clinged to him like a koala.

At first he flt a bit nervous given he couldn’t recall the past and what led to such a display of emotion from her but with time his worries eased.

He could feel glares from all around, the most intense was probably Leon who was at the first row. He was trembling with uncontrollable rage but decided not to act out since he was still in class.

Somehow...

Ryan liked this feeling.

This newfound enlightenment stemmed from the baffling sight before him – a powerful villainess, someone many feared and respected, clinging to him like a lovesick child. It painted a disturbing picture of his past self, a villain so ruthless that he’d managed to bend such a figure to his will.

It might be love she felt for him, but that much didn’t stem from nothing.

His past self might have done something, and whatever methods he’d employed were undeniably effective.

Moreover, if his past self could achieve such a feat, then why couldn’t he?

The answer, a sudden clarity washed over him, wasn’t about strength or weakness. It was all about approach.

Fueled by this newfound resolve, Ryan instinctively tightened his grip around Helen, a silent promise made to himself. The whispers continued around them, laced with speculation and disbelief.

"I just feel this pain in my chest that won’t go away, maybe if I killed myself it would stop," a dramatic voice whined nearby.

"To think a loser bastard who fawned over the class beauties would actually have his way with one of them... It’s just so frustrating," another grumbled.

"Then this only means what Leon said was actually true?" someone else chimed in, a hint of awe creeping into their voice.

Ryan anticipated this reaction. His actions now was sowing the seeds of a juicy rumor mill. But it mattered little to him now. If his plan unfolded as intended, he wouldn’t have to dread facing Leon. So right now, his focus was on growing stronger, and that meant undertaking more missions. Which in turn meant...

He had to face Lucas.
