Chapter 96: She Who Has The Memory Of The Past
Solaia saw the woman who was wearing a mask was surprised to see her, but she was distracted when someone grabbed her by her arms.
"Aki," she heard that person who pulled her say the name that was only used by her father, the duke.
Acantha looked at that person and she saw Evander.
"What do you think you’re doing?" Acantha asked as he pulled her away from everyone who were fighting each other.
"I am going to get you away from here," Evander said to her while he was still pulling her.
Acantha wiggled her arms to free herself from his grip.
"Let me go." Acantha said coldly at Evander, who turned to her and looked at her with those sad eyes.
"I can’t. I promise I won’t hurt you. It’s just they are going to kill you if you go back there." Evander said as he looked at her and tried to hold her arms again.
"And? Aren’t you on their side?" Acantha asked as she frowned at him, more like she was glaring at him.
She trusted him; she even told him about her being a transmigrator, but here he is.
He didn’t only break her trust, but also betray her and hurt one of the people.
"I-I didn’t have a choice," Evander said as he looked hurt at what she said. "I didn’t mean to hurt you." He continued as he looked at her while his eyes were begging her to follow him.
"You do, and what about Mildred?" Acantha asked as she looked at him; she saw the fear as he stiffened when she said Mildred’s name.
"W-what about her?" He nervously asked her as his eyes were uneasy and she could see some little sweat on his forehead as he looked nervous.
"Did you think I wouldn’t know that you were the one who took Mildred?" Acantha said as she looked at him as he paled.
"I don’t understand what you-" He said as he keeps on denying what he did.
"Well, well, am I not lucky?" They both turned their heads when they heard someone speak from their right side.
Acantha frowned at the man who was now smiling at them. He may look quite good, but she can’t help but feel creeped out by him.
He was smiling at them, but it wasn’t a normal smile. He was smiling maniacally at them.
"What are you doing here?" Evander said as he pulled her to his back like he was shielding her from the man in front of them.
"I should be the one who should ask you that," the man said as he chuckled a little bit. "Are you going somewhere?" The man continued as he tried to take a peek at her from Evander’s back.
"You don’t need to know." Evander answered as he looked at him, meeting his gaze.
"That’s rude. I was just only asking you whether you’re going somewhere or not," the man said as he looked sadly at Evander, who looked pissed at his expression.
"Maybe you could introduce me to the Lady? After all, were allies right?" The man continued and it seems like he was taking some steps to go near them, as she could hear some foot steps.
"Leave her alone." Evander answered as he was still protecting her from the man like she was some kind of fragile glass that needed to be protected.
"My, my, we have a feisty little tiger in here, do we?" She heard the man say it, and she knew he was talking about Evander.
"My name is Emperor Sullaivan Tenebrisaya," the man said and even she was surprised Acantha remained emotionless.
"Go away," Evander said to the mad emperor. Yes, that’s what they called this psychotic emperor in front of Evander.
"I would mind my manners, if I were you," he warned. Evander and Acantha can sense the danger in his voice.
"You should tell it to yourself." But Evander didn’t back down; instead, he said those words to the emperor.
Acantha can sense their energy and-
There was a big explosion on her back and she knew damned well who sent those as she saw the mad emperor raise his hands.
Evander didn’t even flinch at what he did.
"It seems like it didn’t scare you a little bit." The emperor said, and Evander didn’t answer him; instead, the ground shook, and it made an explosion at the emperor’s back.
"As expected for her ladyship’s disciple," the emperor said as he smirked at Evander.
Acantha sighed as she looked at them, men and their egos on who’s stronger than who.
"Leave us alone." Evander said as he warned the emperor, who just chuckled at him.
"And who are you?" the latter answered and -
Evander threw something at the emperor’s place, which made an explosion.
"Let’s go," Evander said as he tried to hold her again, but Acantha slapped his hand.
Before Evander could react, he was thrown away by something.
"Pardon me, my lady," the man said as he checked her out from her head to toe.
Acantha could feel goosebumps at what he did.
"Now, now, shall I take you with me?" he said as he wet his lips with his tongue.
He looks sick!
This man is a maniac!
She saw that he took a step forward to her directions.
Acantha looked at him emotionless and used her hand to make him float in the air.
"You disgust me." Acantha said as she threw him in one of the trees.
She was about to take a step when-
"As expected for my future wife," the man suddenly said and Acantha was surprised when she saw him standing near her like he was not thrown awhile ago.
"Future wife?" Acantha asked, as she just wanted to confirm if she heard him right.
"That’s right. No one fits to be my empress as powerful as you," the man said to her as he looked at her like she was kind of delicious food.
Suddenly the man had flown away from her sight again.
"Are you hurt?" Evander asked her as he was checking whether she was hurt or not.
"You!"
There was another light that was thrown in her direction or rather, being thrown to Evander.
The two exchanged magic while throwing against each other.
"Acantha," she turned around and saw Helion was rushing to her. " Are you alright?" he asked as he looked at her worriedly.
"I’m fine," Acantha said as she looked at him. " What about the others?" she asked as she could see that they were far from the border and she just noticed it now.
"The duke was worried about you. He saw Evander took you away from where we are a while ago." Helion said as he was scanning her, looking for any wound or any signs if she was hurt or what.
Acantha saw his eyes skip her, and she saw he was looking at her back where the two men were fighting each other.
-----------
Abanoon still couldn’t believe what she had seen.
She can’t be wrong!
That was Solaia!
How could that happen? She died; she saw it with her own two eyes back then.
She saw Paul’s son take her away and she followed them and she saw they were arguing.
What a stupid thing!
This is what she said about love.
Love will make you weak, just like what happened to her.
Abanoon was just carefully watching them and she even saw Sullaivan arriving while looking at the two.
She knew that Sullaivan wanted the duke’s daughter to be his wife, as she heard that the lady has a powerful magic.
But, Abanoon did not expect it.
She did not expect that lady to look like her sister, well, except for her hair.
She just keeps on observing them and she even saw the two idiots fight each other.
Abanoon was about to leave when she sensed someone was coming; she hid herself behind the nearest tree and hid her energy to avoid getting caught.
"Stay away from her." She turned and saw Evander
"Acantha," Abanoon heard the man say as he called the lady who looks so much like her dead twin sister.
"Are you alright?" Abanoon heard the man ask the woman, who was named Acantha and looked so much like her sister.
"I’m fine." She heard her answer. "What about the others?" She heard her ask him, and Abanoon didn’t hear what they were talking about anymore, when the man looked around and she saw his face.
That face that she was trying to forget for so many years.
That face who made her what she was now and made her weak back then.
The very same face she hated, but missed at the same time.
He looks the same, except for his hair.
Abanoon looked at the two of them, and she saw the love in his eyes while he was looking at her.
How could they still meet and love each other in this life time?
Abanoon clenched her hands into fist.
No, she can’t let that man ruin her plan again.
She was done with that thing, and she had long buried it in the past.
Abanoon decided to disappear, but before that, she took a last glance at the two with anger in her eyes.
