Chapter 83: The Sacrifices She Made...

Acantha asked as she looked at Flamear, who looked worried as he was pacing back and forth.

"Who was back?" She asked again as Flamear didn’t answer her.

"Abanoon," Flamear said, which sent goosebumps to everyone who was there.

Acantha didn’t know, but she felt her heart race really fast and for the first time she can feel her hand shakes, She didn’t know why she was trembling in fear, but she knows it’s not just that, she just can’t explain what was it.

She tries to calm herself; the more she feels scared, the more she gives power to someone she fears.

Acantha looked at him in front of her; when she felt Flamear go near her, she looked at him and he looked scared and worried.

For her?

For what?

"How did you know she was back?" They all looked at Helion as he asked the question to Flamear.

"I can see someone’s memory if I want, but there are some limits on what we can say." Flamear said as he looked straight at Helion’s eyes.

"That woman in the dungeon, she sacrificed her daughter’s soul just so she could bring her back to life; she sacrificed her to be Abanoon’s life’s source as her soul still hasn’t come back to her body." Flamear said, which made Acantha more bothered.

"If Abanoon’s body was already there in Tenebrisya, and her soul was roaming there, then why didn’t they bring her to life? What I mean is, everything was already there; why are they still not bringing her back to life?" Hernand asked and Acantha saw that he was frowning and sweating at the same time.

She knew that being from the North, he must know something about Abanoon, the way he was sweating.

"Wait, I don’t get it. You said Abanoon was a goddess?" They all looked at Ernie, who looked confused as he said those words.

"That’s right." Flamear answered him.

"But if she was a goddess, then why did she die? And isn’t it great to have a goddess alive here?" He said, which made everyone glare at him; Acantha even saw that Jarnus gave him a slight jab on his stomach, which made him flinch a bit.

"What? I was just asking." He said as he looked at them and saw none of them were laughing.

"Is that bad?"He asked, unsure. Ernie looked at Jarnus and he also saw that Jarnus wasn’t laughing too.

"Idiot, you should’ve shut your mouth." Jarnus said to him.

"Why? Abanoon was a goddess; she might help all of us." He said it as he grimaced about what he said.

"You don’t know what you’re saying, child." Flamear, said as he looked at Ernie.

"Hey, that’s harsh! I’m a man, not a child." Ernie said to Flamear as he pouted.

"Abanoon is not a goddess, if that’s what you think. She was revengeful; all she wanted was to take everything away from her twin sister." Flamear, he said as he looked straight at Ernie’s eyes.

"They were born with the same face, but they have different abilities." Flamear, said.

"What do you mean she has a twin?" Ernie asked as he looked at Flamear.

"Aren’t you listening while we were traveling back then?" Jarnus said as he glared at Ernie, who just scratched his head.

"I forgot," Ernie said as he just smiled a little while still scratching his head.

"That’s because you weren’t listening well, idiot!" Jarnus said to Ernie, which made the latter roll his eyes back at him.

"Now, you know. Abanoon will kill everything and leave nothing in this world." Flamear said as he looked angry this time.

"The only reason we are all still here is because of Solaia." Flamear said as he looked sad this time at the mention of his old master.

"What do you mean by that?" Ernie continued to ask.

"She sacrifices herself to kill Abanoon as their lives were entangled being twins; the only way to kill the other twin was to kill the other one." Flamear said and Acantha didn’t know, but something made her look at Helion, who seemed to be quiet.

She saw Helion wasn’t even looking at them, but he seemed to be looking somewhere and seemed to be lost in his own world.

Now she’s wondering if this has to do with something that happened to him back then in their old house while he was having a very hard time because of his blood.

If she remembers it correctly, he was screaming and calling Solaia’s name, and she still hasn’t asked him about it.

She wanted to ask him whether he was also having some dreams about Solaia and people back then, like her.

There are so many questions on her mind, but she knew the answer was all in the book and that’s why she needed to finish it.

Acantha still didn’t tell Flamear that she already knew she was Solaia’s reincarnation, just like what the diary said; she was her the same as she was her.

This must also be why Flamear was forbidden to say it to her, as the other goddesses knew that he would be with her when she was reincarnated.

Sullivan was kneeling in front of a woman’s dead body; the body had long decayed; all that was left was just a bone.

"How can I get you back to life?" Sullivan whispered as he looked at the mirror in front of him; suddenly, all the lights from the candle fire changed to blue.

"You’re here," Sullivan said as he looked at the empty altar when a bigger blue flame.

"Did you get what I need?" The woman’s voice said.

"I’ve got it." Sullivan said as he poured the blood of the woman he killed.

"Now, pour it in my body."The voice said and he did.

Sullivan saw that there was a little changed within the bones he gathered.

"Now, where’s my necklace that I lent to that woman?" He heard her say, which made Sullivan stiffen for a while.

The woman she was looking for has been caught by Helion, and worse, he didn’t know that his people didn’t get the necklace, which the woman made as a source of her power, as they were allowed to use it as their goddess said; being loyal to her, they can gain her powers by using some of her artifacts.

Sullivan himself was using a ring, but even the ring couldn’t handle his madness, which he got from his ancestors.

As much as he hates to admit it, he has the same bloodline as his enemies. It’s also one of the reasons why he wanted to have the northern territory of his enemy’s kingdom: because Abanoon said that there were some artifacts there that were used by his ancestors, which the fairies hid.

He truly needs those items for himself; he was fed up with receiving the same items each time he experienced a mental breakdown due to his inability to transform into a dragon.

And now he was wondering if it was supposed to be the time when Helion would also get those symptoms this time of year. But there he was, fighting his people like nothing happened.

If he was like, does it mean he already found the cure to help him from suppressing his inner dragon form? If so, this is not fair.

Sullivan clenches his fist.

"Are you even listening to me?!" He was back to reality when he heard someone shout; when he looked the fire seems to get stronger when that person raises her voice.

"I don’t know." Sullivan said as his mind was still on the idea that Helion might have something to cure his madness. He needed to find it, but how can he if there are so many obstacles?

"What do you mean you don’t know?" The fire raged even more and Sullivan looked on it boringly.

This woman was supposed to be their goddess, promising to give him what he needed to cure what madness he has, thanks to his fucking ancestors, who have the guts to breed themselves without giving any solutions to their madness.

"You are useless!" The voice said and Sullivan walked away from the place as the voice kept on shouting.

Acantha sighed as she was trying to listen, as the others were still talking about Solaia; not even Flamear was talking, as he was bound by the taboo.

On the other side, Helion was still quiet since then; he wasn’t even engaging in the topic as he too seems to be so lost in his own world.

She wanted to ask him if he met the past her.

Acantha doesn’t have any clue anymore, as Solaia wasn’t even in the story, as she just knew that in the empire where the story happened, they were just worshipping the dragons, and Tenebrisaya doesn’t even have much about Abanoon.

People in this empire didn’t even know who Solaia was and what sacrifices she made just to keep them all safe.

She lifts her head and she met Helion’s eyes, who was looking at . It seems like he was back to reality and back to the problem that they are going to face.
