Chapter 34: The Smoke, Sound of Death, The What??

Helion saw Acantha who was also fighting a monster, and he was still surprised to see that the woman who kept on falling unconscious, appeared to be this killed in fighting.

He saw him lift her hand and Helion can see how she uses her power to fight the monster like she was using it all her life.

He can even see that her hair was glowing from a far, Helion also notices that Acantha wasn’t alone. His eyes widen when he saw a big beast beside her, could it be that’s the divine beast that Acantha owned?

Acantha went to follow her father to help fighting those monsters and save more people.

She escaped from the knights who were escorting them back to the safety area, she just can stay there knowing that she can do something to help.

She was looking on her side when she notice that there was an old man who was running on her left and she saw how the poor man fell on the ground as the monster was chasing it.

She lifts her right hand and threw some light in the monster that made it stop, while she uses her other hand to get the old man who was lying on the ground waiting for his end.

Acantha got the old man who was now lying beside her, "L-lady Acantha," The old man said as he was struggling, Acantha can see that there are some big wounds on the old mans body.

She was about to help him stand when suddenly out of nowhere Flamear appeared.

"What are you doing here?" Acantha asked as soon as the latter appeared out of nowhere.

"I sense something bad was happening." He said as he looked at the man beside her, " You can use your power to heal his wounds," Flamear said and that’s when Acantha only remembered that Flamear told her that she can heal.

She puts her hands on the old mans wound and she can feel some energy while she was trying to heal it, when she removes her hands the wounds are gone.

The old man who she was healing was just looking at her and Flamear. "Thank you so much , Lady Acantha," The old man said as he was crying out of joy.

"You need to go on that direction, the knights and some people were already there, stay with them and you’re gonna be safe." Acantha said as she points the direction where she was awhile ago.

The old man nodded as he left, Acantha sense that someone was coming and she was right some monsters emerges and was going to where she is.

Flamear who was also beside her looks ready to fight to. The monster sends them some fire which she deflected using her power.

She uses her power to speed her up and jump in to the monster and kick it on its jaw.

She was sweating and panting but the monster keeps on flocking like there was no end.

"Why do they keep on coming out?" Acantha said to herself as she was still fighting.

"There must be somewhere in here who was using some dark magic," He heard Flamear said to her, as he was fighting with a monster.

"Do you think ?" She ask as she was wondering why the hell they don’t run out? Like seriously?

"Yes, I can sense the energy, it’s not far from here. We should hurry and go there to stop it," Flamear said as he growled at the big monster in front of him which made the monster turn into ashes.

Acantha nodded as she too can feel the dark energy, but she thought it was from the monsters. She shook’s her head, she needed to focus finding who was sending this monsters non-stop.

Acantha notice something when she looks at the monster, there are some black smokes lingering on them, and when she looks at the other monsters she can also see one.

Why didn’t she noticed it in the first place, the smoke that she can see was going somewhere, she slashes every monster she pass.

"Flamear" She called , " Can you see the smokes?" She asks as she pointed from where the smoke was coming it’s a little bit far from where they are, she looks at her back and saw that Flamear was now behind her.

Flamear looks at where she was pointing, and he runs towards that place.

Acantha follows him, and when she got there they saw a huge place looks like one of a noble’s place, she don’t know who owned this one, but Acantha can hear the sounds of the death coming from the house, and the smokes gets bigger.

They entered the Manor and saw that the flowers in the garden were all dead, like there’s no signs of life in this place.

They walk, and walk as Flamear was now carrying her on his back.

"This is bad" Acantha said as she and Flamear heard the sounds again, it was painful to the ears.

Flamear keeps on walking as they reach the door. The sound has stopped which is odd.

When they enter the house, it was so dark.

The place looks like a quarters where people meet to gather, rather than an abandoned house .

She uses her hand to give some light to the place as they were walking.

There was no one in the place.

Acantha turn around as she sense that someone’s was watching them, she knew that Flamear also felt it.

They heard a loud crash from below, and Flamear followed where the sound is. They were lead in a wall.

"It’s just a wall" She said a as she sighed, she can still feel the dark energy that behind the wall.

Flamear sniffed the wall, as Acantha was trying to knock on it , and pushing some bricks, when she noticed the blacks one are scatter and it seems like they were making pattern pointing to another brick which is the same as the rest, like someone was trying to deceived them by puzzling all the black bricks instead of getting the one that they were leading.

She took the bricks that was pointed by black bricks, and when she did, they fell on the ground.

If the upper part was dark, the palace that they were in now was darker, as it doesn’t even have some windows.

She lighten the room using her powers and when she did they saw so many things.

There were many bones around them, and many books scattered in the ground. She can feel all the hair on her skin rise up at what she saw.

She looks around again and there she saw a stair near where some dead bodies are.

Acantha was holding her breath when Flamears walk on that direction, as she can’t really take the smell, there were also some fresh flesh of human, it seems like they were given as a food for someone.

Before they could even reach the stairs someone pulls her foot. Acantha look at that someone who pulled her foot and there she saw a hand.

Acantha turned around and she saw someone who was crawling.

"D-don’t" She heard it came from that person which she can now confirm a man.

"D-don’t," He said as if he was trying to stop her from going up stairs.

Acantha walks down and there she saw that the man has so many bruises, one of his legs were already decapitated, and has some worms on it.

This time she really wanted to throw up at the sight, but stopped when she realized that this man needed her help, how is he still alive with his situation?

She went down from Flamear and went to the mans leg, and she rest her hand on him to heal him. She still haven’t test her healing skill if how far can she heals, she closes her eyes as she was still healing him.

"I am healed" He heard the man said as she opens her eyes, and was surprised to see that the man regain his leg, he stand as he was crying in joy.

This must be a miracle, how can she re-grow his other leg?

"Thank you, Thank you so much. Lady Acantha" The man said to her.

"You knew me?" Acantha asked when she realized that she must know her as the Duke’s daughter and the evilest girl in the capital.

The man nodded, "What are you doing here, My Lady?" The man asked as he looked around as if he realized something. "You shouldn’t be here," He said.

Acantha was about to reply when they heard some noise came from above.

"We’ve been sending more and more monsters today, we should make more, or maybe these things here will do," They heard someone said, and she didn’t recognized the voice.

The man who was with them was shaking as he sweating really hard.

"Yes, I know, but we did a good thing by ruining the capital and we killed lots of people today," They heard the other man said.

"Are you stupid? What if our family was one of those people who were killed?!" They heard another voice.

"Relax, don’t worry. I only sent those monster in the market, besides I had warned your families not to go outside," She heard , and Acantha was sure that this was the first man who speak.

"Hmmm, I can smell something. We should get out of here." She heard a new voice which is near to them.

"Are you mad? What about these?" She heard another voice.

Now, she can confirm there were really traitors in their empire not one but more.

She didn’t wait more and made the place explode as she and Flamear’s entered the place.

The men was surprised to see her.

Acantha couldn’t see them as they were all wearing a black coat that covers their whole body and face.

"You, You" The man pointed her and she didn’t even blink before she sent the man flying to the wall.

The other men panicked ,as they walk nears the mirror.

Acantha was distracted a little bit when she notice something was wrong with the mirror. That’s when one of the men threw some dust which blinded her for awhile and when she opens her eyes, she saw that they were all gone.

She couldn’t helped but to blame herself as she lets them escaped. If she only didn’t just stood there and let them talk and catch them instead she should’ve had them.

She’s so stupid!

She turns around and saw Flamear wasn’t there. He was now in the mirror.

"This is where they go, I’ll try to-" Before Flamear could even say something mirrow was gone and shattered into pieces.
