Chapter 127: The Hope Or Not?

Chapter 127: The Hope Or Not?

Acantha looked at the duke when she felt his hand grasp hers, which was still holding him.

She felt her tears streaming down her face. She felt relieved, and—she didn’t know what to feel, but what she knows is she was happy.

"W-what happened?" The duke said as he finally opened his eyes fully.

"D-duke..." she heard the three say at her back, and Acantha turned and saw that they were also teary-eyed at the moment.

"W-water..." The duke asked them in a hoarse voice when no one answered his first question.

Acantha took the water from the bag she had, which was given to her by Flamear when they arrived here in the forest.

The duke accepted the water that she had and drank it carefully.

"Now, can someone answer my question?" He said as he looked at them.

"You were gone for days, Your Grace." Zerth answered as he looked at Duke with sadness in his eyes.

"What do you mean, gone? Am I sleeping here the whole time?" The duke asked them with confusion in his eyes.

"You were killed." Diego answered the duke directly without beating around the bush.

"Killed? But I am very alive?" The duke said as he looked shocked at what Diego just said.

"You were dead for exactly five days, Your Grace." Fabian answered her father, who looked more surprised at what he said.

"You don’t remember anything, Father?" Acantha asked her father as he looked confused at the revelations about him being dead.

"No, I just remembered... I was with Fabian, Diego, and Zerth... We were looking for people who were stranded at the ritual that the imperial family did for thanking the ancestors who founded the empire." her father said as he still looked confused at what they said.

"You were killed that day while trying to save a little girl who was left there by her parents." Fabian answered her father, who just frowned at him.

"But if I am dead? How am I alive?" Her father asked them while he looked at them one by one.

Everyone looked at her like they were waiting for her to explain how her father was alive.

"I used my power to resurrect you," she said, and her father looked at her with worry on his face.

He probably worried about her ending up like the baroness who was at their dungeons back in Solaris.

"Why did you do that? Haven’t you learned a lesson about what happened to Lady Abellarde?" Her father said as he looked worried at her.

"Don’t worry, Father. I won’t end up like the baroness." Acantha said as she assured her father, not telling him that she already got her memory from her past life, which helped her in resurrecting him

"But if you are all here, then what about the duchy?" The duke asked worriedly as he looked at everyone as he tried to get up from lying on the stones where they made as his bed.

"The duchy has already been taken care of, don’t worry." Acantha said as she was assuring him that everything was fine, even though she knew that everything was not fine.

"Thank you for everything, Elida. I would always feel grateful for what you and the other fairies had done for us." She said when she turned to the fairies, they were smiling at her.

They stayed for awhile in the Klartis that day, and now they are back at the Solaris and Acantha saw the shock on everyone’s eyes when they saw who was with them.

"Y-Your Grace..." The servants and maids greeted the duke, but they looked like they didn’t know what to do—whether to run or to hide.

"Don’t worry, everyone, I am very much alive, and if you want to ask me why, I also don’t know." The duke said to everyone who was looking pale at the moment when they saw him,.

Acantha looked at the duke, who seemed like he was already back on his track.

"Father, you should rest." Acantha said as she looked around to look at Mildred, who was also standing near them.

The duke just nodded at her and Acantha looked at Flamear, who seemed to know what she wanted to do.

She went first to her room to get her cloak and put it on.

---------------------------------------

They arrived at the capital, and there she saw that the old capital was gone and was replaced by broken houses. It seemed like there were no people who were living here right now.

Acantha knew that Abanoon couldn’t still attack the place, as she was probably still healing herself from their fight.

She lifted her hands to fix everything that she could see; she would help them even though they condemned her and called her a curse on their place.

It was partly her fault, as Abanoon was her sister and she did this to kill everything that was the reason why she became like that.

A soul with no body.

"It seems like there is no dead body here..." Flamear said as he was sniffing around.

Acantha nodded at her as she also looked around when she spotted some dark form.

She knew that there were still some soul suckers here, as no one could defeat them.

It was not that they needed to kill the one who made it, but she knew something that could kill them.

Acantha aimed the soul sucker with her arms and chanted some spell that she knew could end them.

She walked again around the place to check if someone needed her, when suddenly the wind blows off her hat on her cloak.

"L-lady Acantha?" Acantha looked at the person who called her and there she saw Gineo, who was the emperor’s right hand and was also his messenger.

Acantha just nodded at him, as he didn’t do anything wrong towards her.

She saw that he looked shocked when he saw the capital that she rebuilt using her power.

Gineo was about to say something to her, but Acantha disappeared.

She didn’t want to have anything to do with the imperial family anymore; it’s better to cut everything off, as they would just be collateral to Abanoon when she tries to hurt her again.

---------------

"What happened?" Helion asked as he was still waiting for Gineo to speak about the Solaris.

"We had seen Lady Acantha in the capital." Gineo said and Helion could feel his heart -beat fast.

"The lady has appeared?" The emperor asked as he also looked curious.

While his mother still trying to looked like she didn’t care on what they were talking about.

"Yes, Your Majesty." Gineo answered which made some hope in Helion’s heart, he just wanted to see her and apologized about him not being there when his mother said those harsh words at her.

He wanted to apologized at what his mother said to her.

"Yes, and it looked like she rebuilt the whole place." Gineo said which made them all looked at him.

What does he meant by rebuilt ? In just a short span?

How can she do that?

The emperor looked shocked at what he was hearing too..

Now, he understand why his son was so drawn to the lady...

Even though people condenmed her and her father was killed because of helping his people.

The lady still continued on helping them without getting anything.

She was such a selfless person.

Dion looked at his son, who was quiet and looked sad.

He knew how his son wanted to see the lady; he had seen him looking at the sky every night.

Every night whenever he looked at his son, he felt a pain in his heart, as he was partly the reason why he was being like this.

He was feeling really guilty.

He looked at his wife, who still didn’t regret what she did to their son and to the lady he loved.

Dion didn’t even know if he still knew his wife.

His wife, who used to be so warm to everyone, became so rude and harsh that he didn’t know her anymore.

He sighed when he looked at his family.

His family, which he cherishes, seems like it was falling apart.

As death may be an end, for some it was a beginning, a way to another place.

------------------------------

Abanoon screamed in pain when she was in her castle.

Her body feels like her soul was about to get out of her body.

Something was not right...

She looked at herself in the mirror again, and she could feel that she was getting weaker.

She was wondering what went wrong.

"Paul!" Abanoon called Paul, who she didn’t know where he went after he grabbed her and teleported them back here.

She screamed in anger, Why does her sister always get to have the upper hand?

And that why she was always the one who was suffering at the end.

"Paulll!!!!..." Abanooned yelled again as he didn’t come when she first called him.

"Yes, Master?" Paul asked her as he looked like he was doing something.

"I could feel something was wrong with the rituals I made." Abanoon said as she looked at Paul, who looked surprised at what she said.

"It feels like I was getting kicked from this body anytime." Abanoon admitted it, and she looked at Paul’s face, which remained without emotion.

"What do you mean, Master?" Paul asked as he looked at her.

"I need you to find the woman that I gave my necklace to. Is there still no news about her?" Abanoon asked if that woman had a daughter who was supposed to be dead and now she was alive, but thanks to the soul she put there, which was the owner of this body.

"Why do you want to find her?" Paul asked her, as Paul and that woman still hadn’t met, and Abanoon only knew her face, but not her name.

"Because that’s where I could shackle the soul of this body’s owner." Abanoon said something that made Paul quiet.

She looked at Paul, as she can sense that the body she owned now has something to do with Paul.
