Between the two choices, obviously it was better if Lu Yizhou could remain awake. He knew that this was the only way forward. After all, to create the antidote, Zhao Bolin had to conduct a lot of experiments and there was no test subject as perfect as Lu Yizhou.

Lu Yizhou had been wholly prepared and that’s why he had revealed himself in front of Zhao Bolin. It’s just that... he did not expect Zhao Bolin to be this ruthless!

"I know you’re smart, Lu Yizhou." Zhao Bolin drawled almost in a purr. He had a smug look on his face as though the victory was already within grasp "You should know which is the best choice in this situation, right?"

Speechless, Lu Yizhou forced his trembling fingers to move and lifted two fingers with difficulty. Pure delight spread across Zhao Bolin’s features when he saw that. "Perfect!" He leaned forward to plant a resounding kiss on Lu Yizhou’s cheek. "I knew you’re going to support me! Isn’t this the reason why you come to me hmm?" Zhao Bolin narrowed his eyes sharply. "To be honest, your behavior makes me think that you already know what’s going to happen in the future. Is it one of the perks of becoming a superior zombie? You can predict the future as well?"

Lu Yizhou shook his head, helpless yet amused at the same time. With his current inability to speak and move, how was he supposed to tell Zhao Bolin about the truth of this world?

Zhao Bolin did not mind the lack of response. He shrugged nonchalantly. "Well, that’s not really important. I still have a few biological questions I need to ask you. It’s so hard to do this while you’re asleep..." he grumbled lightly while flipping through his notebook.

Lu Yizhou was instantly alarmed. What biological questions? When he recalled how Zhao Bolin had casually groped his groin just to see his reaction, Lu Yizhou had a subtle foreboding that this would not be anything good either. And what did he mean by doing ’this’ while he was asleep? What kind of atrocious things had Zhao Bolin done when he was unconscious?!

[666: *cough* Host, it’s... roughly the same as when you’re awake ah... But sadly 666’s screen is mosaicked so 666 doesn’t know what happened after that...]

Lu Yizhou glanced down at his body. Aside from the wet and crumpled clothes, he belatedly found out that his zipper was half undone! His face instantly turned green. If he could speak right now, he would definitely demand an answer, "What the fuck is so urgent that you can’t wait until I am awake?! Are you that interested in a zombie’s cock?!"

Unaware of the turbulent emotions brewing in Lu Yizhou’s chest, Zhao Bolin started to ask, "First, I noticed that you have been eating chocolate bread twice in a row. Is it the only thing you can eat aside from raw flesh or are you just pretending? If it’s the first choice, blink once. Second choice, blink twice."

Zhao Bolin nodded and jotted the answer down on his notebook. Next, he proceeded to ask a few questions that were surprisingly... normal. For example, whether he really needed to drink, could he sweat, was his pee still yellow in color, how many times did he shit for a day — wait, now that he thought about it, it was not completely normal either...

In hindsight, Lu Yizhou should have seen this coming. This was the person who was going to create an antidote after all — even if it resulted in total annihilation in the original plot. As a genius researcher, his curiosity level should be higher than others, it actually made Lu Yizhou wonder if the reason why Zhao Bolin rejected the offer from the government was simply because he did not like the team and preferred to work alone instead. Look at him now, Zhao Bolin was so excited that he was short from just burrowing himself into Lu Yizhou’s brain and made a home for himself there.

Amidst the back and forth questioning, Zhao Bolin suddenly fell silent. Lu Yizhou raised his eyes in confusion only to see the man’s gaze fixed on his lips. "I am wondering... what gene segment is responsible for carrying the virus? Where is it located? Your teeth, your saliva or... any body liquid will do? I have already gotten your blood and next..."

Lu Yizhou’s eyes widened in shock. He... He would not want to swallow Lu Yizhou’s saliva himself, would he? No! Lu Yizhou would not allow it! Even he himself was still not certain how the virus exactly worked! He would not allow Zhao Bolin to turn into a zombie, especially not because of him!

When Zhao Bolin gripped his chin and inched closer, Lu Yizhou struggled even harder, firmly pressing his lips tight in order to ban a certain someone from coming in. He tried to convey his objection through his glare. No matter what, Zhao Bolin would not consume his saliva. Ever!

"Hey, hey easy there." Zhao Bolin patted his head like one would pat a doggy. Lu Yizhou glared at him even more sharply, prompting a soft laugh from the other. His golden eyes crinkled in mirth. "Do you honestly think that I am going to use it on myself?"

Lu Yizhou gave him a skeptical look. He really wouldn’t...? The main problem here was, he had been duped so many times before that he could not take Zhao Bolin’s words at face value anymore. Otherwise, he would not even know how he would be sold by Zhao Bolin and worse still, he would even help the man count his money! This time, the shame would be on him!

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Zhao Bolin chuckled, sounding as smooth and velvety as ever. He threaded his fingers through Lu Yizhou’s hair and bent down to his eye level. "Listen to your professor, Student Lu. There is one main taboo for researchers — to act on an assumption without solid verification. For us, data is universal. Hypothesis can be denied, but data can not. How can I attempt something so risky without any information to back me? Only stupid researchers will do that." Pride gleamed in his eyes when he talked about his profession, it made him look so dazzling as if he was covered in a halo. "Do you understand?"

The corner of Lu Yizhou’s eye twitched. To lecture a zombie on the ways of a researcher... perhaps only Zhao Bolin would attempt such a magnificent feat. His reasonable argument gradually calmed Lu Yizhou down. Zhao Bolin was right, he would not be so stupid as to attempt such a risky experiment. And hence, when Professor Zhao grabbed a test tube and asked him to spit on it, Lu Yizhou obediently did so.

He saw Professor Zhao move across the room to where there were a few cages which Lu Yizhou was certain were not there before he lost consciousness.

"I grabbed it from the next laboratory." Zhao Bolin lifted a small cage to show a round, fluffy guinea pig inside. His bright smile was contrasted to the flustered animal who ran around the cage like a headless fly. "Meet Xiao Tun[1], our first animal test subject. Poor Xiao Tun has been in extreme distress ever since it entered this laboratory. It must be because of you so I can only place it as far away as possible."

After that short introduction that was not even enough to arouse tender feelings, Zhao Bolin dexterously wore thin surgical gloves, injected Lu Yizhou’s saliva into the guinea pig and moved it to an observational glass cage. He carried the cage closer to Lu Yizhou. Right now, Lu Yizhou could see that Xiao Tun was twitching violently on the base, its four paws stretched upward in a weird angle. Then in a blink of an eye, it sprung up and bared its teeth at Zhao Bolin... only to freeze when it caught sight of Lu Yizhou tied to the electric chair — wet, trapped and helpless.

Xiao Tun: ?

Your Majesty...? Why have you also fallen victim to this human ah?

After Xiao Tun was revived as a zombie, Lu Yizhou could sense the wave of genuine confusion and shock radiating from it.

If he could move, he would have palmed his forehead right now. How could he describe this feeling? It was like a subordinate had accidentally stumbled upon a spicy scene between his boss and the boss’ lover, only to realize that the ever powerful and omnipotent boss was actually a masochistic bottom...

"4.14 seconds." Zhao Bolin stopped the timer, blissfully unaware of the crisis between Lu Yizhou and Xiao Tun. "That’s quite fast. But still, I don’t have enough data to compare." After he finished with Xiao Tun, Zhao Bolin simply tossed the cage to the side like a merciless scum, believing that Xiao Tun would not dare to come up with anything as long as he had Lu Yizhou in control.

Zhao Bolin paused at the realization and could not help but relish in the marvelous feeling. Was this what ’the fox exploits the tiger’s might[2]’ mean? Everyone should be afraid of zombies, but he did not even need to worry because he was controlling their King.

A sharp gleam flashed through Zhao Bolin’s eyes. He suddenly had a very brilliant idea. Perhaps... he could try to take a walk downstairs with Lu Yizhou. How did it feel to walk unobstructed in a crowd of zombies, even having them bow to you like you’re the boss? Or perhaps, he could even make them dance for him? Oh, Zhao Bolin was really looking forward to it...

Lu Yizhou, who was totally unaware to what extent Zhao Bolin was going to exploit him, only felt shivers running down his spine at the man’s ravenous smile. What was he up to again?? Unfortunately, his skill ’Mind Reading’ could only be activated after he said the spell. Lu Yizhou could not help but sigh and curse the pit that the system had dug for him.

"Alright, now we know that your saliva is very deadly." Zhao Bolin concluded. "Your blood is a certain thing. As for your sweat, we can’t really draw a conclusion because you don’t sweat anymore. Your pee... let’s assume that you will not infect people in that unhygienic way. That leaves only one last aspect..."

Lu Yizhou’s scalp prickled and all of a sudden, he had an ominous premonition.

Zhao Bolin smiled wider and singsong-ed. "...Your sperm. Won’t you give me that too?"
